+ 2 Hepatitis C and Blood Donations.
I know tons of men who have struggled with addiction and turned their life around. Many have went to faith, some choose fitness. One of the things that come with intravenous drug use is Hep C. Simply from re-using the same needle with some of your blood still inside will cause you to contract the virus.
When on cycle, if donation of blood is needed. None of the company’s that partake in blood draws will allow you to donate for obvious reasons, so where and what is the next step? Would you go see your PCP to a see if you can get some blood drawn out? I know it’s not that cut and dry, there needs to be reason for blood to be taken out in the PCPs eyes( high RBC). Do you go to a TRT Clinic? Will they allow you to donate with having hepatitis C? Any info helps and all words are appreciated. We all wanna stay safe and healthy. Much love.

Take 1 ml of heparin and drink a liter or a liter and a half of water. After an hour, insert an 18g needle with an IV line into your vein. You can easily drain 500 mg to 800 mg of blood at a time. Then take a quadruple dose of magnesium and potassium every day for a week. It's a good idea to know your ferritin level before draining. If it's high, around 200, you don't have to worry. The iron won't leak out quickly. To lower my hematocrit from 56 to 49, I needed to drain blood twice at 800 mg or three times at 600 mg. You can drain it twice in a row every other week. Measure your blood pressure the next day after draining the blood; the pressure should be normal.
Thank you for the advice bro really means a lot
I just blood dump at home. Im in the same boat as you. I got cured of hep c in 2019 via Maveritt. However my body will still always have the antibody. Therefore my blood would be turned down regardless. But also for my own peace of mind, even if hep c wasn’t a factor. I wouldn’t wanna lie to those people and potentially have my blood full of steroids go into another persons body. I realize they do tests and what not, but like i said for my own piece of mind. Also hepc is a virus, it doesn’t form on its own due to certain conditions. While it does like certain conditions, like old blood in a syringe, old blood in a syringe alone with out the presence of the actual virus is not going to make the hepc virus magically appear.
I mean I didn’t wanna come out a say it bro but it’s obvious how one gets it. Just didn’t wanna directly say it but I know it’s not just from my own blood. It’s others as well. Not proud.
My bad homie. But believe it or not there are many here among us who were just like you and i used to be. Not to mention, everyone on this site has stuck a needle in their body for one reason, or more.
Ironically for home blood dump purposes, some of the experience learned in addiction, may help benefit you in the process.
Wait, how does your own, non hep-c blood spawn hep-c on its own?
I didn’t wanna full on say sharing needles I apologize, was just kinda beating around it. Like I said prior just hard talking about so wording this was hard for me.
Shit man I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it like that at all. I was honestly curious about it.
My apologies
If you are on TRT, the physician will usually allow you to do Therapeutic phlebotomy (procedure where blood is removed from your body).
After every lab test for TRT, my physician instructs me to either 1) donate blood or 2) make an appointment for Therapeutic phlebotomy. This is due to my high hemo levels. I alwyas feel better after giving blood.
No you cannot donate with hep C even if you took the medicine that cures it. What you can do and I am sure their is Youtube videos to show how, You can buy your own phlebotomy supplies. I have done it before but my medical history I already knew how to drain blood.
You can buy the phlebotomy blood bags with needles already attached. Get some tourniquets, alcohol/chlorprep or iodine wipes, after the bag is full of blood just toss it or flush down the toilet.
I thought about looking into doing that myself but I discussed it with someone with no knowledge an was told I wouldn’t have access to the medical supplies needed. I’ll definitely look into it, just nerve racking. Pinning is one thing I have no issue with, but blood drawing? On myself? I’ll have the wife probably do all the poking an draining. Super excited for that info man.
Anything else you think I should know
Just watch some videos and it's not that bad man especially if your wife is helping you. You for sure can buy the med supplies google phlebotomy therapy collection bags and you can buy from a healthcare source. You do need to use iodine or chloraprep as you are going into a vein and want to make sure the area is sterile.
Get some gauze and tape for when you pull the needle out. The bags have a little control valve to open and close for blood flow. It really is pretty easy. Done it a few times as I could not donate because I was taking accutane.
