Help Using HGH to Regrow/Repair Cartilage

ad

Hey everyone, I'll make this kinda short. About a year ago dropped a 45lb plate on my foot. Finally got around to getting a MRI done (no fractures) and the results sucked.

I have grade 3 and multifocal grade 4 cartilage tears in my big toe MP joint, as well as a degenerative subcortical cyst and mild bursitis.

My only treatment options at this point are surgical, ranging from microfracture to joint replacement, although the doc is not recommending replacement right now.

My question is...since my injury is cartilage-based, and we all know HGH can regenerate/repair cartilage, is it possible I could use HGH to heal this without resorting to surgery? Obviously I would have to inject straight into the joint which that's fine.

Has anyone done this successfully? Or know someone who has? What was the dosing protocol/schedule? Or does anyone have a link to where I can find out more specifically about using HGH to heal cartilage? I really don't want surgery.

Update - well, it looks like surgery is probably my best option. Really appreciate all the input! As far as dosing protocol for recovering after surgery, bpc + hgh + tb500? I'm sure there are plenty of posts if I just utfse but if anyone wants to be kind... Lol

The HGH isn’t going to heal something that either healed incorrectly or hasn’t healed in over a year. Some tissues don’t have an ample blood supply, therefore don’t heal regardless of the drugs you put in your body. I will say my recovery from acl surgery was drastically expedited taking stuff like test, var, bpc.

My vote would be surgery to get everything fixed up. And HGH/bpc/tb500 to drastically expedite the recovery from said surgery.

Uncrownedking13's picture

Yeah, my guess is toes don't have much blood supply lol. I'm leaning towards the surgery, just not replacement. Plenty of stash for the recovery. Fuuuck.

Also I think from what I've read the IAGH protocol takes 12 weeks anyway.

Maybe it was the IAGH... Which stands for intrarticular growth hormone

I think the English barrier is the problem here, the OP is pretty on the ball but the way it’s said isn’t correct. Probably Google translate. Guess my feeet pics can’t be taken down now. Fuck lol

All I can suggest is you’re ten years younger than me, I’m no old man, but you’re not young. Weigh out the choices but get your feet right. If god offered me one choice it wouldn’t be hair. Or a better chest, or a non French nose… it’d be better feet. My options weren’t great, but looking back I wonder if I’d been better off with surgery. Now I take a scalpel to my feet often because the pain is so bad it feels like nails being driven into my feet. Don’t be me. Pics attached only to help you make the right choice.

Mileage lol. Just a lot of mileage. Only one person has contracted cancer from generations, no heart attacks, but we have bad feet lol. It’s a “is what it is”. Just enjoy every day bro. That stinky bum on the metro may outlive us all, but for gods sake, take care of your feet. Talk about a constant hell.

JakeKO's picture

Be careful using that scalpel, Bro. A very close friend of mine used one of those callus scrapers which would be his biggest regret. He must have left it too exposed one day after scraping and he got an infection. After months of treatment, doctors could not stop the infection from spreading up his leg. Needless to say, he was soon after given the option to amputate, or risk the infection spreading throughout his entire body. He did what he had to do and had his leg amputated to the knee. It’s been about ten years now, and although he lives a pretty normal life thanks to a prosthetic, he has some severe psychological fallout from the experience and will probably be in mental therapy for life.

About once every six months, my wife drags me into her Nail salon for a pedicure. As gay as it feels, No Homo, LOL, I don’t have all the feet issues that I use to have. She also bought me this foot balm that I use about once per week that has prevented any new or old calluses from forming.

Ain't no shame in going into a Nail bar buddy - I use to do it many years ago Lol I must admit though, the main reason was there were tonnes of sexy chicks working in there, pretty much couldn't go wrong in whoever was working on your nails Lol Had many great laughs and conversations back in the day, seems like a distant memory now. They did spray tans and everything Smile

God damn. I got lucky as hell when I used to take razors and cut my calluses of my feet when I was younger. Never imagined that could happen.

I tried my best to keep it non erotic. But in all seriousness guys, take care of your fucking feet. They don’t get better. I dunno, now that I think about it, the perfect head of hair may be worth the pain. But whose? 70’s Travolta? 80’s Roger Moore? 90’s Keanu Reeves? 2000’s Brad Pitt? 2010’s Tom Hardy? 2020’s Taylor Hanson? I’ll choose feet, yeah.

press1's picture

Buddy I feel your pain!! I too have done this exact same thing, dropped a 45lb steel plate from waist height straight onto my big toe - my excuse however was this is back when I drank and luckily it helped numb the pain a little but WoW it kills I know!! Over the next few days as you know the nail all goes black and cracked, then my entire toe nail fell off Bad It grew back but has never been the same since, I can walk on the toe and everything and it doesn't hurt at all but the toenail grows back all lumpy and cracked, ingrown and all sorts. Keeps falling off and I've kind of accepted its internally damaged somehow Lol Really not sure how effective HGH will be in your situation - if you want to truly know then do BPC, TB 500 and HGH and see what comes of it all.

Oof. Yeah, I dropped mine over a year ago. I'm not in a ton of pain but it is limiting in some aspects - can't lift heavy squat or heavy leg press, can't do lunges with heavy weight, I could deadlift heavy if I didn't have an umbilical hernia though lol.

But yeah the doc said I totally tore the cartilage. This bad:

grade 3 - defects involving more than 50% of cartilage thickness, without bone edema
Multifocal grade 4 - full-thickness cartilage defect/loss with associated bone marrow edema

I want to be able to play soccer again someday. Found out more about the procedure I am interested in. It's called IAGH and the injection has to be directly into the joint guided by ultrasound so I guess that might be out...also have to be on crutches for weeks, and inject 15-30iu once a week for 10-12 weeks.

However, I suggested it to my foot and ankle doc, he wasn't familiar but said go for it and showed me where I should inject if I want to try it. So there is that..

JakeKO's picture

I would probably do it myself, but I don’t know about the whole 15-30iu in one shot. Maybe over the course of the week, but all at once seems a little too much to me

press1's picture

From what you have said mate I think I would go for long term recovery here, and get surgery done that will enable you to be able to lift properly again. Not full replacement yet but at least so you can squat again and things like that. Grade 3 to 4 in anything is normally end stage and I just cannot see HGH recovering something that severe. If it were 1 or 2 then maybe there is a hope.

Uncrownedking13's picture

Yeah that is the consensus I am getting. Damn.

Think I'll ever be able to play soccer again after surgery?

If you were wearing crocs at the time of this injury I refuse to help you. Even in sport mode.
There isn't much out there for what happened to you but here is a link and summary of knee cartilage.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6425894/#:~:text=This%20IGF....

GH is known able to stimulate cell growth, reproduction and regeneration. It is made in the anterior pituitary gland, secreted by somatotropic cells to the blood stream and stimulates insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) production by the liver. This IGF-1 would promote growth effects on almost every cell in the body, especially the skeletal muscle, cartilage and bone. Research done by Dunn7) revealed that morphoangiogenesis found in the knee injected with recombinant human GH played a role in cartilage regeneration.

Haha I have never tried on, much less owned, a pair of crocs. I was in Adidas lite racer running shoes. Thank you for the link - I looked more into it and it seems like that procedure and recovery restrictions might not be an option if it has to be done by a Dr. I'm still trying to find anyone who's as crazy as me and done this and written about it

Have you tried bpc157 or tb-500? It sucks there’s no real medical studies on a lot of this stuff, it’s basically all just trial and error by us. You should definitely keep a log of what you do end up trying and the results you get so we all will have a little more info on what works and what doesn’t.

In a promo × 1
Uncrownedking13's picture

I have not tried either of those but I am looking into them. I'm wondering if a systemic hit of TB and localized combo of bpc and HGH would be optimal.

If I do decide to go this route, I'll definitely keep a daily log and record the data. Happy to contribute to the collective! Just gotta decide if I'm ballsy enough to do it, and if I do it my way will it still work lol
