+ 8 Do You Ever See Yourself Completely Quitting All AAS Use?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I’m curious how other long-term users see it.
For those who have been involved with AAS for years, do you realistically ever see yourself completely stopping one day?
Not lowering the dose or staying on TRT, but fully walking away from everything.
It seems like a lot of people start with the idea of “just one cycle,” but over time it becomes tied to physique goals, strength goals, confidence, routine, and eventually part of your identity and lifestyle. I also think quitting becomes more complicated the longer you’ve been involved. Some people stop because of health concerns, changing priorities, or simply losing the passion for it, while others say they genuinely feel better physically and mentally staying enhanced at some level.
I’m especially interested in hearing from older lifters, long-term TRT users, former competitors, or anyone who has actually tried coming off completely.
Has your mindset changed with age?
Do you think lifelong low-dose use becomes inevitable for some people after enough years, or do you still see a point where you’d fully stop?
Curious to hear honest real-world experiences instead of the usual extreme opinions on both sides.

Tough one, I imagine an age where you just want to watch tv and fart all day. If unlucky and get prostate cancer do you stop or punch it until it’s game over. Too many prostate removals end in complete limp dick. Never getting wood again. Life without certain faculties like memory and fucking ceases to be meaningful. So unless I forget test all together or face the big casino it’s a real tough question. As long as I’m of sound mind and prostate I will choose feeling good over lasting longer feeling like complete dog shit.
Id rather fucking die, but no high dose cycles for me anymore. My test stays below 200mg at all times. Total anabolics below 400mg at all times.
I think after a certain age (imo somewhere in your 30s) you need to stop chasing gains and start thinking about the long run. Anyone above 35 blasting and cruising is a damn fool and playing with fire unless they make money with their body and are under strict medical supervision.
I don't see myself ever stopping trt unless it's going to harm instead of help me.
no u
Orals yes, TRT/GH/Reta, staying on just lowering doses
At very minimum, TRT for life. As long as I don’t experience life altering injury I’ll run higher test cycles while still hitting the gym. I think orals I’ll eventually stop completely.
Whathappened2018next question
Just under a year of being enhanced and I’m in my 20s so a bit of a younger perspective. I hopped on for a number of reasons but my test was in the 300s at 18. My mindset has stayed the same, I don’t plan on coming off and I’m ready to be on atleast trt for the rest of my life. My bloodwork is perfect, I look better, am healthier, preform better, more confident and sure of myself, I’ve seen nothing but improvements across the board. I see no reason to return to where I was before aas.
I’m all for trying things out and using my body as an experiment, but my general ideology is to maximize growth without sacrificing health. The majority of my cycles will be high dose test, hgh, and slin. Can make amazing progress while working with the basics.
Only been using gear about a year and a half, but, I don't see myself ever coming off TRT. I was in my mid 40s and had low Test when I started. If someone has been running cycles for years, it seems like there would be some level of natural testosterone suppression. For some people, it's medically necessary to come off, but life is usually better when your testosterone level isn't in the 300s or less.
I'm definitely interested to see how some of the more long-term users feel.
Once I get a decent shape that I could maintain only with TRT and maybe hgh I will stop blasting. I think there’s no more way to be completely natural
I havent blasted a real cycle in about 5 years, but have been on TRT nonstop, keeping my test in the 800s and free around 200. Couple months back I got some fake shit and tanked my levels. I felt like absolute dogshit to say the least. At 46 years old and a LONG history of off and on PED use, there is no way I could completely hop off. I dont see any arguement or reason to stop a legitimate trt dose in my case, quality of life would go straight into the shitter. Now then, I have been getting the itch again, after coming off a few years of injuries (powerlifting is dumb) so I will blast again here soon. I cant answer the question as to how many more cycles Ill run as I approach 50 and beyond, but as long as blood work and overall health are kept in check, I want o stay strong and look good as long as possible.
My dad was always jacked, but in his 50s he stopped lifting hard and started riding bikes. Like wanna be Lance Armstrong bullshit. Got skinny and weak (compared to what he was), and I always swore I wouldnt be that guy. Makes no sense to me to purposely let muscle waste away, when thats the last thing you want as you age.
Sorry for the long story LOL
At 37 years young, I would not be surprised if there is a better solution that IM pins for TRT within the next 15-20 years... by that time as well, I will be happy with TRT along with some orals here & there.
My gut says I will want to dabble later in life with nandrolone & DHTs.
I really enjoy blasting. Im sure one day it will get old. Prob when im dead lol.
I’d only come off completely if there were a medical reason. I otherwise plan to eventually go to a permanent minimum effective TRT dose.
I'm off everything right now, even TRT. Taking enclomiphene to see where it goes. I haven't run a good proper cycle in a few years.
My next cycle is already laid out, I've hoarded a small amount of the prohibitional goods, enough for a solid cycle when the time is right.
400mg of Test
600 mg of Primo E
10mg of Dbol
Might toss in FST344 and IGF LR3
But this cycle will probably be my last big banger. I love the community, the game and everything that goes along with it but lifestyles change. Eventually, probably will stop, mostly just because I don't like the constant pinning, it gets tiring. Pellets are shit too. If there was a less demanding way to run TRT, I would run TRT with a few small blast cycles in-between.
Have you had good results coming off in the past?
Hope it goes well for you brother. I just couldn’t get back to where I needed to be.
I did with GNRH but that was 2011. I haven't been able to find GNRH since.
Have you tried HMG yet? Good luck to y’all man!!! Once you get any decent numbers you could always go the ICSI IVF medical route and implant a literal single swimmer if you feel the need to move the process along. We did something similar. Hcg has kept me fertile, but it is not at a concentration that is normal.
Im planning to switch to Testosterone undecanoate to limit the pinning. Have you previously been able to get your Baseline test levels to a reasonable level off test?
right now, 469, not ideal. FSH and LH are in the low normal range as well. I ran clomid with HCG for recovery, I may jump back on the HCG again, you guys can probably imagine the reason for this whole thing.
For Test U. Get straight up nebido if you can. The raws need to be ultra high quality in order to not crash and it needs to be made in castor oil with very low solvents. It's a bitch to make, I tossed a whole gallon of it at one point. This is one of those things it's just better to get from a pharmacy or pharmaceutical reseller. I did try it as well, definitely better than pellets just gotta keep an eye on that E2
Man if real script options were more available I’d probably seriously try it out too. Reality is US market and insurance rarely covers U. Endo pharma who got the rights to Nebido 4ml/1000U had the stipulation of paying millions to original manufacturer if approved on the US market. In that time they got Aveed 3ML/750U approved. Endo claimed the smaller dose was safer or something similar. The kicker is they charge $1500 for 3ML Aveed vs $120 for a vial of Nebido. Nobody is going to pay $1500 a month for a vial of Aveed when their Cyp is $150 a month with bloods at whatever clinic.
Money. Greed. Marketing. The usual hit points of U.S. pharmaceutical manufacturing and approval
I found some cernos depot i was going to try. The pharmaceutical guidelines say to do 750mg the first injection another 750 mg in one week, and then just inject every 10 weeks. I'm definitely not going to use that protocol. Nebido and cernos depot come in 3-4ml amps, Would there be any issue transferring the contents into a sterile vile and adding BA 0.9% per volume in order to microdose it? Or do you think that's gonna cause problems?
interesting, I never seen the instructions of cernos, just the OG nebido.
The idea behind nebido is that you inject a large amount at one time in one area and the castor oil works as a time release, as does the mass of oil in one place. For microdosing, I'd just do TE
Been using cyp daily injections, thinking I can maintain that type of stability with once weekly injections with UND while decreasing the injection burden. Hoping it will work similarly, and help keep E2 at Bay by preventing peas and troughs
I think the real formulation for nebido calls for like 40% bb with castor
about 50 and no BA. It's a strange recipe
Must have been designed to be in ampoules. Castor oil can hold stuff very well though.
Right now... no i don't see my self ever stopping. I have trouble taking it down for cruise.
This stage of my life I still cycle.
Yes kids, that is where you go on and then off.
There is no "Blast". There is no "cruise". There is no "Health phase".
The new age fruity bodybuilding terms are hilarious to me.
I dont "Refeed" either as I usually "feed" regularly.
I go on for a reason & a goal. Use the minimum possible to achieve said goal. Then I cycle off followed by a pct.
Levels naturally are still good & I see no reason to ruin it by blasting nonsensically. When I eventually need trt, will utilize such.
Three years of TRT brought me here and I’m currently mini blasting for the first time with T, HGH, and Primo and I feel like I’m 25 again. I’m not going anywhere. 20 fucking years of dogging it in the gym with shitty free T was 20 too many. I monitor my bloods monthly and as long as it’s good, I’m going until I’m not able to muster the strength to pin through my skin.
Come on @Greg where are ya?? Don't tell me your still Bangin that 23 year old from a few nights ago because it must be getting boring by now.
Do you ever see yourself quitting Gear and becoming a born again Christian? LMAO
For life for me. Additionally, studies have shown women to be at significantly higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s specifically due to menopause. We all know estrogen is neuroprotective and their bodies just stop making it. They now say women should get on HRT at the beginning of menopause and then be on it for life as well. Significantly reduces their risk of developing Alzheimer’s. So not only will I be on some form HRT for life, I will strongly push my wife to get on it as well when it’s time.
If we are talking Alzheimers & dementia. We also cannot overlook the direct correlation to running high blood sugar levels.
Used to be called "Type 3 Diabetes" until Big Pharma wanted to rebrand Diabetes as a treatable, insurance qualified, liveable minor inconvenience.
Yes there’s many factors. But this thread is specifically about hormone replacement. I was just highlighting a major correlation between menopause and women being at significantly higher risk of developing it because of the lack of estrogen. They still call it type 3 diabetes in the neurophysiology world. There’s also studies about how each type of exercise (aerobic, anaerobic, resistance) effect BDNF releases by the body and different things like sleep for clearing amyloid beta. But this is a rabbit hole and I was trying to stay on topic of the thread lol
Nice to see someone else who knows though
I understand and agree. It is a rabbit role for sure.
I only mention the blood sugar aspect simplely because it is relevent to the bodybuilding community most especially those bombing HGH & building insulin resistance.
However, back to your orginal point, Testosterone supplemention for women is rapidly becoming less stigmatized. Which is a great thing.
Ive heard lots of stories recently of women get fantastic results from just minor Testosterone supplementation.
Lots of benefits for women including the neuro-protective benefits.
Close person in my life is going through menopause and her grandmother experienced Alzheimer’s that began around menopause and continually worsened until she passed, so the preventative options been a topic in my circles lately. I will say the wife of an extremely wealthy guy I know who worked in the pharmaceutical industry is going through the same thing. They have tried dozens of treatments including experimental ones. Allegedly the current one is extremely exclusive, but she has shown improvements and no further decline in the past 6 months. Prior to this she has been essentially free falling for nearly 2 years to the point of not recognizing her kids or husband upon waking and such. They are both retired and home 24/7 thankfully, but I really hope to see something come along that changes the prognosis for people with Alzheimer’s. It’s an entire nasty beast of its own, and I truly feel for anyone that has experienced themselves, or watched a loved one with it.
In that world they say it’s not cure-able but instead preventable. Essentially everyone will get it if they lived long enough. It’s all about pushing that goal post as far back as you can. That way death hits you before neurological decline. Eliezer Masliah claimed of such type cure or fix, got billions in funding over 2 decades, and just recently was found to have fraudulently altered hundreds of papers in his study.
My buddy's wife was prescribed low dose test for her hormones... it was a night & day difference for her.
I have her on the trifecta of replacements....Progesterone, Estro, Test, and HgH....you name it.
She was a bit hesitant as I started adding it on (all the SQ/IM), but I told her...give 6 months...and when you see/feel the difference....you tell me then. She's happy......
Her OB/Gyn takes care of the Estro/Progesterone and Test (Cream), but I administer the rest. I switched her to Test injections though, more effective.
Mac's Genetically Engineered Woman ....... LMAO
She’s a little sex beast with a short run of lady Anavar
Lucky, my wife ran var last year and just got super moody, she started test a month ago and already only positive changes
I’ll be on TRT for life atleast. Been off/on for 10+ years already. Last time I came off for 2 years for fertility reasons and only manage to bring total T from 250 to 400 with free T being Low the entire time. Felt shitty and ultimately my wife told me she wanted me to hop back on the sauce. I happily obliged.
Truth is I’ll probably blast/cruise for as long as I’m in love with the lifestyle. Even coming down to “normal” ranges isn’t the same. Always chasing that feeling of being “on” and feel strong AF in and out of the gym.
Did you ever wind up conceiving
Short story, No.
Long story - I’m a childhood cancer survivor and chemo/radiation definitely had an effect on my hypothalamus/endocrine system. Low T but doctor said my sperm was completely normal, BUT total count was very low. Like 10mil instead of 200mil. We did IVF twice and neither attempt worked. We still have a few frozen fertilized embryos, but she said emotionally she cannot go through that process again which I completely understand. We are currently in agreement to just be dog parents and love our fur babies fiercely.
Love dogs also. Good luck man
I really don’t think so, since I was 19 (37 now) I’ve only been off for two years. My blood work is pretty good, had an ekg and a chest x ray recently and they both checked out too, blood pressure isn’t bad at all for my age/size. I barely drink and overall lead a pretty healthy stress free life. So like others said, long way of saying no
I started way too early (20, cause I was a fucking idiot) I’m now 36. I don’t ever see myself stopping, at least TRT. I tried coming off in my early 30s and my levels stayed tanked the entire time. I’m fairly conservative with my dosages now though.
