+ 1 Blood pressure
ad
My top number is usually high while my bottom is usually low. Haven't been on cycle of anything over a year and am in good physical shape. I've heard any where from I should take meds to don't worry about it until the bottom number gets high.
Any insight is appreciated

That is incorrect that it’s not a problem or you should wait to take meds until your diastolic is also high. What you have is called Isolated systolic hypertension and its the most common type of high blood pressure among adults.
Based on your stats you aren’t at a weight that would cause this. Being on here I assume you eat pretty healthy and train regularly right? Are yoi in good cardio shape? If yes to all of the above then go to the doctor. No reason to try to manage this yourself. It’s unfortunate though, typically BP and cholesterol issues can be managed based on your lifestyle, diet, training, being in good shape and being at a reasonable weight. But for a small percentage of people that’s still not enough. You shouldn’t require much medication to get that back down to a healthy range. If it’s been like this for a while go get it handled now. High BP Damage is cumulative.
Ya I eat very healthy, my dogs even eat healthy lol. They did put me on a med last year but I have just been trying to manage it myself and wasn't sure how serious it is or if the Dr is just trying to make money or whatever
So many factors come into play, definitely use a properly sized cuff, and if you can lay down for 5 minutes and breathe normally. I’ve found that as I’m getting older caffeine affects me more than it used to, but I enjoy my coffee. Diet, hydration, stimulants, stress, so many factors to consider. Your numbers aren’t out of whack enough for treatment, but definitely keep an eye on it. Plus one for being responsible and monitoring yourself.
The gap between systolic and diastolic is called pulse pressure. It can be bad to have a large gap between them even if your systolic number is “high”
This morning it was 150/67
Pulse 60
I'm 5'10
180 lbs
From here, you'll need to check it everyday and after a month if that's your average, that would be considered hypertension, and you could benefit from either trying Telemisartan or Cialis. The larger the gap between the two numbers the more its linked to how stiff your arteries are. Even if the second number is low. You want them closer together. The heart has to work harder to pump blood through stiff arteries. Not a doctor just my own experience when I had high bp. It's not that bad but long-term health you want it to be better. You can try less sodium, fasted cardio, lowering your body fat %, and if nothing helps cialis would be the first med to try it helps improve blood flow and then Telemisartan if Cialis doesnt help. Telemisartan relaxes and widens the arteries. Think of a hose pumping water and then you kink the hose the pressure increases, Tsartan keeps the hose nice and wide.
Also how much cialis MG do you recommend? Take it morning or night?
Thank you. How high was yours and for how long?
Before gear my BP was 140/90 for like 10 years but I was out of shape and probably averaged 20% bf, and then just from trt dosages it jumped up to 145/90. Cialis 5mg and dropping to 15% bf it hovered 130/90 and then Tsartin brought it to 120's/80.
5mg Cialis is the starting dose.
Not medical advice but I noticed unless I get the cuff nice and snug, and my arm fully relaxed my systolic sometimes reads way high. Like I will get a reading of 130/ 65 then literally one minute later I get 110/65. I've heard with a lot of muscle mass on the arm sometimes you will get a falsely elevated systolic reading due to the muscle needing a lot more pressure to actually block the artery. The doc used the wrist cuff the last 2 visits and I got 115/65 or so, so I tend to think that is correct.
I even bought a bigger cuff because the other is supposed to only go to 17"
I'll try the wrist one
I second this, prop your arm up on something above your heart, take you BP 3 times, the first time will always be higher, deep breaths for a good minute, then take it a second time, and the third time should be your true BP. High elevation can raise your top number so factor that in. 40mg of Telmisartan will bring your BP to 120/80 120/70, and its pretty cheap from int vendors. Or if you can get it prescribed even better.
i read an article the other day about properly taking bp and just the angle of your arm can affect it a lot plus seating position. I get different readings from my dr also.
My high can be your low and your low can be someone's normal.
probably get better response if you posted actual numbers
