BAD BLOODWORK.. ADVICE?
I’m currently on TRT 160mg a week 2x a week. Iv used anabolics previously but never got bloodwork(college years). I’m 32 years old 200lbs 5’10. I have been eating a lot of red meat and I do a decent amount of low intensity cardio. Usually 3-6 miles a day. What should I do from here. I heard ur suppose to drink a lot of water before testing but I was told not to. I probably had a cup of water 45 min before. Can I fix these numbers with more injections weekly? 3x a week instead of 2? I was hoping 160 was going to be a walk in the park compared to what Iv ran before but I was wrong. Should I be worried with these numbers? I do go to a urologist but I don’t see him for another month.still waiting on estrogen panel to come back. Any help greatly appreciated.
Also this was not fully my trough but my doctor said since I’m using sub q it shouldn’t matter since levels stay fairly stable. He said if I was using IM then it makes a bigger difference on timing. I injected Thursday morning this was taken Saturday morning my next injection would be Monday so not far off

Dkoon211From my understanding. If you stay well hydrated that will lower hematocrit. Also cutting out seed oils will help lower bad chloresterol. Dr told me they never saw anyone's numbers go down without medication when I cut out that stuff.
52 on hematocrit is fine, you don't really need to worry until about 57 or higher. You can drop down your Test a little and it will help the numbers some.
This isn’t bad bloodwork.
Ya I wasn’t too worried about the other stuff mostly hemat. I was told high hemat was a huge deal so when I seen it in the red I got alittle nervous
Your numbers are fine especially if you are dehydrated. Donating blood is a temporary fix those numbers will return and you will tank your ferritin levels from donating.
This is what Iv been told, I’m lowering the test, doing more injections per week, increasing water intake and going to cut back on the red meat(I eat a lot of it). Thanks for your input
Drop the dosage to 140mg, retest in about 6 weeks. Bloodwork doesn't look that bad.
Ya that’s what I’m going to do thanks, I was mostly worried about hemat I know everything else isn’t terrible I was just told high hemat was super dangerous so I got alittle worried when I seen it in the red. Def makes me feel better now
You definitely need to be hydrated when testing hematocrit. Assuming you normally drink water. Don’t chug way more than normal or it will artificially lower your HCT. You want the test to be an accurate representation of what things look like on a normal day, to assess risk on a normal day. I typically do bloods around noon and drink my usual amount of water before. I even test lipids and blood sugar in a non fasted state and things always look really good. The only thing not fasting will typically affect is triglycerides. HDL LDL and VLDL are usually unaffected. Plus glucose but I find if it’s been 2hrs since I’ve eaten my glucose is normal.
What was your total cholesterol and LDL? The pic only shows triglycerides HDL and VLDL. Whether or not your 37 HDL is a problem depends on what your LDL and total cholesterol are.
If your hemoglobin and HCT are where they are fasted and dehydrated I’d assume you’re probably in normal range if hydrated. But check again next time not dehydrated. Proper hydration plus the cardio you’re doing should be more than sufficient to keep those things in check. Cardio 4-5 days a week.
I’ll add in total and ldl up top in my original pics they cholesterol normal at 180 and my ldl is 121 and says “moderately high”
Just add rosuvastatin and ezetimibe to your protocol and you will be fine. Don’t waste money on “supplements” that are only going to make your piss more expensive.
Do these work for orals that mess with lipids like anadrol?
This is the answer. Just add ezetimibe and a low dose of Rosuvastatin. When I started that my numbers were perfect after a month
Same here. Brought my apob down to 67 and LDL to 80 on blast.
I want to save takin anything for when I bump up my test for a mini blast like 400-500mg. My goal for TRT is to find the highest dose my body can handle without needing to use any other medications to keep my levels in check. I’m at 160 now 2x a week I’m going to go to 140 every other day and try doing whatever one here advised me to do. If I can be in range then I’ll just stay at 140. I’m coming in over 1300 at 160 so I won’t mind dropping 20mg if it will help me long term I assume I’ll still be around 1000 maybe more at that dose anyways
Ranger3252What exactly is your concern with your bloodwork? Nothing really concerning from what I saw.
Idk I was planning on running higher test later on but since my hemat is this high and cholesterol it makes me think I’d be in real bad condition if I did that. I’ll start ordering some of the supps and drinking more water. I was told to try injecting eod also which I will do
Daily pins dropped my hematocrit from 58% to 53%. Running 600t/400primo. 53% I can live with considering it's 50% natty. I live at high altitude.
Awesome that’s what I was looking for . I’m upping the frequency this week
Ya I recently started just whole blood and mine dropped right back into normal. So now I got every 8 weeks. It's a win win. I have less blood thickness someone gets blood. Plus I'm o pos so they always bugging me to come back ha
Ranger3252If you’re worried about hematocrit levels being elevated, donate double reds every few months. It’s an easy way to control that and it not only helps you out, you’re goin to help other people out as well.
What supplements are you taking with your trt? I’d recommend adding in citrus bergamot 1000-1200mg per day and definitely a high quality fish oil with high EPA/DHA. Also really focusing in on your hydration, with fluids/sodium/potassium/magnesium etc. Hydration and fish oil will aid in lowering your hematocrit and RBC. The citrus bergamot will definitely help your cholesterol as there no horrible just a little out of range. Also for cheapest bloodwork around check out https://www.hellogoodlabs.com/
Thanks for that website that is cheap and right now I’m taking fish oil but just a normal amount, creatine, beet supplements, probiotics, and nac. I’ll add in what you recommended and up my water intake. I want to get in the bit am range before bumping up my test and messing around. Only real concern was hematicrit but before TRT it was 45 so I think k it was slightly high before TRT
Not just water also electrolytes brother
Ranger3252Hydration and fish oil can’t reduce RBC or Hematocrit, it’s scientifically impossible to do so. The only way to reduce secondary polycythemia caused by AAS use is through phlebotomy. Whether be through blood donation or a prescription from your doctor to pump and dump. Removing excess blood to reduce the concentration of red blood cells is the ONLY way to get back within normal range. Or remove the cause of polycythemia from the equation, such as the removal of taking AAS. How you came up with the fish oil theory is crazy and I’m not being a dick, it’s absolutely mind blowing. Fish oil can help thin blood and reduce tryglicerides.
It’s mind blowing you think hydration and electrolytes don’t play a role in hematocrit and RBC lol i would review your science.
Ranger3252Treatment for secondary polycythemia, mayo climic. (trust me my medical expertise far outweighs yours, other than your bro science.)
There's no cure for polycythemia vera. Treatment aims to lower your risk of complications. Treatments also might ease your symptoms.
Blood withdrawals
The most common treatment for polycythemia vera is having blood withdrawn often. This is done using a needle in a vein, called phlebotomy. It's the same procedure used for donating blood.
This lowers your blood volume and reduces the number of excess blood cells. How often you need to have blood withdrawn depends on how severe your condition is.
Treatments to reduce itching
If the condition causes itching, medicines such as antihistamines or treatments with ultraviolet light might give you relief.
Medicines that are used to treat depression, called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), helped relieve itching in clinical trials. SSRIs include paroxetine (Brisdelle, Paxil) or fluoxetine (Prozac, Symbyax).
Medicines that lower the number of red blood cells
If phlebotomy doesn't help enough, these medicines can lower the number of red blood cells in your blood:
Hydroxyurea (Droxia, Hydrea, Siklos).
Interferon alfa-2b (Intron A).
Ruxolitinib (Jakafi).
Busulfan (Busulfex, Myleran).
Heart medicines
Your healthcare professional also will likely prescribe medicines to control risk factors for heart and blood vessel disease. These include high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
You also might take a low dose of aspirin to reduce your risk of blood clots. Low-dose aspirin also may help reduce burning pain in your feet or
Ranger3252It’s wild that you think it does, when his diagnosis is secondary polycythemia. Sure hydration is fine, but medically speaking he has a condition, which can only be treated by phlebotomy. Everyone should hydrate at least a gallon a day. But, to think hydration cures a disease is dumb.
Hydration can definitely reduce Hematocrit brother, dehydration increases hematocrit by reducing the plasma volume. Which makes the red blood cells a higher percentage of the total blood volume. As for fish oil I didn’t say it would bring down his hematocrit or RBC so you are right about that. I used the word “aid”. As fish oil will aid with oxygen delivery of the red blood cells and also protecting them from oxidative stress.
Ranger3252Dehydration's effect on hematocrit.
Yes, staying hydrated can help reduce high hematocrit levels if they are caused by dehydration. Dehydration increases hematocrit by reducing the plasma portion of blood, making the remaining red blood cells more concentrated. Drinking plenty of fluids can increase plasma volume, which dilutes the blood and lowers the hematocrit percentage back toward normal. It however does not cure Primary and secondary polycythemia. So yes, if you are dehydrated it will help, but it plays zero roll caused by primary and secondary polycythemia. Which is what AAS use causes. Always drink water, it’s basically all I drink.
I can tell you I was 100% dehydrated I usually drink 2-3 bottles of water a day normally before trt sometimes I’d add in a juice or something so that’s 100% on me and I’m working to fix that. Iv been aiming for a gal a day but it will take time to get there. I see what your saying tho even if your hydrated your just kind of lowering hematicrit artificially but its not curing it. I think with changing a few things such as injection frequency and dropping the 20mg along with more water can get me into range which is my goal without needing other meds. Now Iv heard mixed things about donating . Some say it’s good to do if your rbc and hemat are elevated but then I also heard from other coaches that donating blood should be a last resort as doing so can actually cause these levels to raise in the future from donating too much. I forget the reasoning but 2-3 different people had the same explanation. What’s your thoughts on that? If all else fails is donating a good thing or will it set me up for worse outcomes later? I’ll try to get the reasoning for then saying that and get you an update. I’m still learning so with so many opinions I’m starting to really dial in the right way to do things . Last thing I want is to chase side effects of one drug with more drugs. Now if I was blasting a cycle I wouldn’t mind because it’s short term but for my day to day trt I’d rather try doing everything I can to get it right naturally if possible.
Ranger3252With your low dose of test and being dehydrated and your numbers of your hematocrit not that elevated. Sure drinking fluids could help. However, when you increase your test and your HCT keeps creeping up, all the water in the world will not help. Stay on top of blood work and donate regularly when you increase your test. You will be fine, but don’t let anyone fool you about just drinking water will be a cure for all. I donate regularly and my HCT is slightly below your numbers.
I’m just going off advice that was given in here that if I get blood work done dehydrated it could artificially increase my hemat levels . Is this not true? Also my doctor told me that donating blood can cause increase hemat long term. Not saying he’s right just given the info I have
Ranger3252No regular phlets cannot increase HCT, he does the complete opposite.
You say 160mg a week 2x a week. I was confused at first lol but sounds like 160mg at 80mg 2x week. If that is so, i would be happy with 1376ng/dl. My buddy was 938ng/dl off 150mg and the testosterone was proven to be legit but it was his body response. Rest of the results we are talking small amounts off. I think all are good numbers comparing to my own. You are not even more than 2.0 over nor under the norms. You can probably fix those numbers with diet rather than changing your injection protocol
I’m sorry it’s 160 total .4 twice a week of test cyp 200. Iv been eating a lot of red meat lately and I don’t drink a lot of water that’s my fault. I never did tho so I’m working on that. It’s hard to go from alittle water to a gallon within 1.5months but I’ll work on it.
Ranger3252I don’t think your blood work is awful man. What is your biggest concern regarding it? Then we can give you the best advice.
I’m going to drop my dose to 140 from 160 and do EOD injections and stop eating so much red meat. Iv been hammering red meat for 3 weeks 3-4 times a week because I prefer it over chicken but I’ll assume that doesn’t help my hemat or cholesterol. I have a recheck in 3-4 weeks I’ll post the updates then and change my habits . Thank you for your advice def made me feel better lol
I think I’m just concerned with those things being high only on 160, I was planning on bumping up to 400 on a blast later in the year but I’m not sure I can control my bloods . Unless u think blasting for 12-16 weeks with elevated levels won’t kill me lol
