Angry restless sleep

ad

It seems that when I hit legs heavy or when I have a really good intense and energetic workout, I often have trouble sleeping. I'll have trouble falling asleep and when I do, it's not very sound or deep because I have dreams where I'm arguing with or about to fight someone over their stupidity or ignorance. I wake up many times yelling things like, "Shut the fuck up mother fucker!" or "Fuck you asshole!", or "You ignorant fuck!" and similar rants.

Before you assume or ask - no, I'm not on tren. I'm actually not on cycle at all. In fact, I haven't done a cycle in over 20 years. But I'm about to start one. I've been taking melatonin before going to sleep for many years. I actually like the feeling of being angry in my sleep, but realize that it's not optimal when I wake up yelling several times a night.

I'm just looking for feedback from others who've had this experience or suggestions for how to keep it 'non-verbal' so that I'm not waking up yelling and causing a late-night disturbance.

Sound alot like you may be suffering night terrors; whatever stress that is unresolved in your daily life may need some attention to solve the stressor that is leading to your night time disturbances!
I think some valerian root and Kava kava would be of benefit to you perhaps!
Best of luck

I make sure whenever possible I decompress before I go to sleep. I run through my day verbalize all the things that pissed me off and annoyed me. Then I examine how much of it was my fault or overreactions so that I can stop justifying myself as if I am never at fault and then I sleep completely sound. May not work for others but it has always worked for me.

Man... I'm really going to start doing this P....... Not even for my sleep. Just because. Im a very tense , uptight and intense person. I think doing this would really help me overall in my daily life. Thank you for this Brother

That's good stuff bro. And it's exactly what's causing my restlessness. Except that I'm decompressing in my sleep instead of prior to sleeping. I think it's also due in part to a rise in my T levels at night which are more pronounced when I hit legs heavily and/or intensely.

Btw I didn't sleep well last night either. I dreamed I wAs running and hiding in bushes and I got shot down by a helicopter right in the streets trying to get away :(

I can relate to that dream bro! I've had very similar dreams. One is that I'm being ambushed in my home in the middle of the night. And I wake up thinking what would stop a dozen well-trained tactical thugs from storming my AO and pillaging my property? The police? No way - if these thugs think like I do and are as tactically well trained and stealthy as I imagine. I already know that I'm somewhat paranoid. I like to say, "Only the paranoid survive". I don't believe it's to the point that I need psychiatric help. I know that when I have these restless nights, it's because I've dealt with some frustrating people that day.

I wish I was a heavy sleeper... Although ghb has kinda been pushed out of the forums even it rarely shows up that's an option I am currently looking into. Not as a permenant solution but on days which my mind is running to fast when it's time for bed. I feel like it may help push that anxiety and high energy out and give me better rest. If I do come across it. I'll let u know how it goes.

I had similar issues with sleeping and staying asleep. I would wake up in the middle of the night and pace around. I will send you a fr so I can share my experience over pm with you if you like.

I don't have a clue what is causing your sleep issues but for me, trazadone has make a huge difference. I use to struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep. Trazadone puts me to sleep, I still have issues staying asleep for anything over 5 or 6 hours but I usually get good sleep before then and wake up non-groggy which is rare for me with any other type of sleep aid.

You may be overusing the melatonin. I mean, it definitely seems like you have some sort of underlying issues affecting your subconscious state. You may want to think about some kind of therapy and figure out what's going on in the back of your head. You could be pissed or upset about something and not even realize it, but it comes out in your semi subconscious.

But back to the melatonin. I've heard you're not supposed to take it every night, especially not every night for years. Try dropping it for a while and check out other sleep aid supplements.

Pretty good article right there. I like some chamomile tea before bed and I do take the melatonin right before lying down, haven't tried the other stuff yet, but I plan on it.

Thanks bro. That's good advice! +1

I'm assuming that you are prior or active military? Have you deployed recently? I do shit like this everytime I get back from deployment. I've found that it helps for me to be completely relaxed before I go to bed. Ill read something, talk to my wife, etc. I have to stay away from anything that might get me ramped up. Usually lasts a couple months and fades away.

Denser's picture

Yes. Prior military. 82nd Airborne 1982 -1985 plus 3 reserve years which were an absolute joke. No deployments although my unit 2/325 was on DRF 1 when Grenada broke out and the entire battalion was deployed except HQ and CSC which was my platoon of mortar magots. They told us they didn't need heavy mortars in Grenada and kept us stateside to pull funeral detail. Some of us were so pissed that we were planning to sneak on the next plane, and deal with it after we got there. We were so gung ho, it was insane.

Thanks for your thoughts, and thanks for your service bro! +1

Thanks for your service as well brother! I'm guessing your sleep issues are way different than mine though. Haha. You still might want to try relaxing as much as possible before bed. Good luck!

Denser's picture

Yeah bro, if your sleep issues are deployment related, then mine are completely insignificant in comparison. I do get road rage although it's not to the point that it lingers. And I do get frustrated with the absurdities at work which is where most of my restlessness comes from. I deal with the public on a daily basis, and man, there is some serious stupidity out there.

Gargoyle's picture

Sleep issues are never insignificant. Don't start thinking that. This is a major problem and I hope you can find some peace.

Besides my deploying days are over. At least for the immediate time being. And it's not like I have PTSD or anything. It just takes me a while to unwind after being wound tight for months on end. It would probably help if I wasn't so wound up all the time to begin with but that's a whole other issue. Haha.
