member notification when eroids is under construction

I know alot of thought an effort goes into the design and maintenance of eroids, my idea is if there is anyway possible to send and email out to all members to let know the sight will be going under construction that way if we are needin to look something up or anything we might need to do we can go ahead and do so and we would have some kind of advanced warning. Its just an idea and I dnt know how many members gots their accounts set up where when you recieve a message here it sends a notification to your personal email account and I dnt know if your like me but ive got my cell phone hooked into my email account to where when i get an email it comes straight to my cell phone. anyway I thought it was a good idea. any comments???

I won't be sending out emails about downtime.
I will put up a notice when upgrades are taking place.
I guess i probably needed to reword that, that was basically what i was getting at is it would be helpful to have some sort of notifacation. I greatly appreciate you coming up with a salution for this, great job man this website keeps getting better and better. thanks
An email would not be a good idea... But a banner at the top of the page announcing a scheduled down time would work.
you might be right, i guess all i was saying is some kinda of notification in advance would definately be nice. That way if someone is trying to order by a certain time and the web site was going down, they would know what kind of time frame they have to get theyre order in. Or what ever else the reason may be someone might need info off here at least they would know to go ahead and get on while its up
