+ 8 Donating my Kidney
ad
I am 54 y/o and have agreed to donate my kidney to a friend in need. I recently came off of an 18 week cycle of Test E (300 mg a week) about 2 weeks ago and now taking 150 a week and taking 3 iu of HGH daily (going on 2 years now). I'm reaching out to ask if anyone has any advice based on a similar experience. I am about 6 months out from having the procedure done and most of the questions thus far have been regarding diabetes, recreational drug use etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Much love! That's what it's all about

You're a good friend.
You need to clear out your body and get healthy, especially them kidneys. You're going to need to be a lot more careful with how you live after this, especially at 54. Health should be the first consideration. How is your kidney health?
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
How are you financially? Still working? Going to need time off?
Respect! God Bless! God speed to both of you!
Man that’s one of the kindest things I’ve heard in a while. May karma forever be in your side!
I am of no help, but good on you man. That’s a hell of a thing to do!
I would truly advise you to get your efgr checked on a regular basis. I suffer from stage 3 kidney failure and my efgr is 48. I have been seeing a renal specialist for 4 months now. I had to give up running roids and stick strictly to trt. If you decide to continue using you may want to hold on to that kidney it's only downhill for me.
Did you lose a lot of the eGFR due to running steroids mate and/or uncontrolled blood pressure, has your filtration level stabilized now or is it still declining?
If you haven't already - get a cystatin C eGFR reading rather than the creatinine based one as you may find its higher than 48.
I'll get one done ASAP. Thanks for the advice.
All roid related. Blood pressure at its worse 122/70. What's fu**ed up about it is the Mens health center that suggested TRT never mentioned a word about my efgr. And they also hooked me up on my 1st,2nd and 3rd Deca cycles. I was to stupid to ask. My once a year DR I see for Health Insurance discounts said 'Hey! You have a problem. Had I known better I never would have started roids. But gotta say loved the outcome.
Men's centers are profit and fk all to the customers. Privatemdlabs quest etc....do your own bloods often and assign your trt or blast accordingly
Oh yea you can’t just go off creatinine calculated eGFR for us. Most of us train hard constantly, supplement with creatine, eat higher than normal protein diets, etc. which will skew that result. Like press said get a Cystatin C test instead. That test isn’t impacted by those factors I mentioned. It can, however, be skewed by some steroids such as EQ and then Cystatin C test will also give you a false value. At that point you gotta run an uACR test. It’s also cheap. Just a urine test looking at your albumin/creatinine ratio in your urine. That gives you an absolute answer on kidney filtration status
Folks forgot some 30 yrs ago how creatine the supplement was introduced. Deca raised cell volumization and strength etc. Creatine caused that....whole huge science about how to use it properly
@Will1969 This is strange buddy because Deca cycles won't kill your kidneys - High Trenbolone ones do where you are pushing 600mg Plus per week for long periods over years. High Orals for a long time too also have an impact such as Anavar, Anadrol, Dbol but again at least 50mg Plus per day over years. 122/70 isn't even what I would call a high BP that would damage kidneys, generally that would be 160 Plus / 90 + for years. Have you hit very hard long cycles in the past or used painkillers excessively?
I guarantee also if you get a Cystatin C test that eGFR will likely be over 60 mate.
might be genetic too, need to know family history
He left before I could get any answers lol
First off - I really applaud you for doing this mate, I know of family members where fathers etc have done this for their children etc but never a friend for a friend so he must be very special to you. Have you seen where your own eGFR is at already to make sure you have a really healthy kidney left for yourself?
I am offering this advice as impartially as possible but I think it is something to bare in mind if you haven't already - but it will limit what you can run in a cycle safely for the future such as orals, tren etc because 1 kidney alone is going to have a tougher time keeping your blood clean of toxins than 2 are. Do bare in mind also that people with a lower eGFR tend to live a shorter life as the toxin level in your bloodstream is consistently higher which affects many things in the body. I assume you must have been already cleared by the Doctors though to be able to do this otherwise I doubt they would consider you.
Most definitely bring it up to the medical team. Only test and GH, it may not matter, or they may simply want a wash out period. But yeah, ask the doctors, man.
I applaud you for doing this. You're a good friend.
I would say at the very least you can say goodbye to running any orals ever again. Probably not the end of the world tho.
Other than that, might wanna have a legitimate discussion with an actual Dr about TRT and how that would look sans a kidney. Probably beyond the capacity of eroids bros abilities.
But also kudos to you for doing such a selfless thing.
18weeks is ridiculous. Cycle...get in...get out. What's your bloods look like??
Damn bro what a fucking guy you are, not everyone would do as you are right now. You might actually be the only guy on a Roid Forum who is willing to give up a kidney to be honest with you. +1 to you my friend, this is a irl karma farming act in deed, and it should be no different on here.
I have NO experience in this , just here to say bless your heart for helping a friend and hope everything goes well post procedure for both of you.
