changing from pellet based TRT for my wife to injections, how much and how often?

ad

I myself have been on TRT for 3+ years and it's been nothing short of amazing. I went to a clinic for a few years to get an understanding of labs, etc. now do my own T ordering and do blood work every 3-6 months.

A year or so ago my wife had her T levels checked and they were really low. She went on the pellet through a local doctor. She is getting 150mg every 3 months. That has been nothing short of amazing too on all levels!

I mentioned to her it would be cheaper if she did injections on her own vs a pellet at the doctor. We are spending approx $165/month for her pellet and blood work. Yes, it will be a heck of a lot cheaper to do injections instead ourself and do our own bloodwork.

I'm trying to understand a reasonable dosage that would be around the same amount she is currently taking. Her sex drive is off the chart, so we don't need to enhance that at all lol.

I myself am pinning 2 times a week. Should I set her up for pinning once a week? How much to get same results as the 150/mg in a 3 month pellet?

Also, I am 49 years old, my wife is 47 years old. She does lift 4-5 times a week.

My wife has been on HRT for 1 yr. She gets her meds from a online clinic. She takes a daily progesterone pill and they also send a 50mg/10 ml bottle of Test cyp. Which she takes 20 units in a 29ga .5 insulin needle sub q once a week. So, that would be 10 mg a week.
But it is also important to get the Progesterone pill because that is what helps regulate the estrogen and many other things that she is lacking.because of the Perimenopause.

Good point my wife is also on progesterone.

Look I’m not an expert here or anything but I did do some research and looking at the subject a while ago. And most the articles I was reading where recommending test prop for the ladies at very low dose twice a week just means if you get the wrong dose adjustments will work much quicker don’t wanna accidentally go to high then cause the long ester be stuck with far to high levels for to long as if sides for the ladies kick in most aren’t reversible. Just be careful do plenty of research.

10mg pinned subq twice a week put my wife’s total T at 182. Free T at 15.8.

Long story short studies used 1% androgel @ doses of 5-10mg through the week.

Women inject cyp @ 10-20mg a week which is gonna get them into the supraphysiological levels, she’ll be looking at women like we do, like “you wanna fuck bae”?

Are you saying sub q with a skin pin 10-20mg cyp (oil based) for her? My wife is interested too. This is why I’m asking. Forgive my interuption. .

Yeah I’d subq that dose cause it’s such a tiny amount, test e

this sounds about where I thought it would be. 150mg/12 weeks(3 months) would be in the range of approx 13mg/week.
She was initially on a lower dose of 120mg/12 weeks and she could tell it was starting to wear off. the dumb thing with where she is going, they are doing blood work halfway through her pellet(so at week 6). I guess to get high level. I would think best would be near the end of her 3 month timeline.

Initially, I am thinking of doing simple blood work every month for 3-4 months to get a good feel for amount she should take.

I inject myself in my butt(I hate doing this in my thighs). Does she need to do similarly or just subq(in fatty tissue not muscle)?

I agree with jockstrap below, sub q with something like. .5 inch 27-30 g will be fine, stomach, hips, last even any place that a women holds more bf , not saying your women is maybe that’s not even possible for her.

I find most compounds work the same and some better when I subq, I’ve tried with more than just test,..

I don’t feel like a women should have anything over a total of 200ngdl, some probably go higher but that’s for muscle building purposes plus libido, in your case libido is the first issue

thanks! we will try that and go from there. I looked at her last bloodwork. It was halfway through her pellet(so 6 weeks in) and she was sitting at 214ngdl. I'm sure near end its a lot lower.
and also interesting (for women reading this), she has had 4 children. She has had issues with incontinence(especially when deadlifting or hard lifts) at times. When she got on T, this had pretty much gone completely away. Only time she notices it again is near the end of her pellet when her T levels get low.

Seems like a pain with fluctuating when she can apply some gel every morning or take an inject twice a week

Need to find her proper range and aim in the middle. Then you can look at dosing which at first will be guessing. Id suggest slin pin her dose 1x a week subq. Its really going to rely on blood tests.

Having her own dr send her to an endocrinologist is a best bet.

I have her bloodwork from the last 3 sets of bloodwork she has done over the last 12 months, so have a good idea on her range.

I would try to get whatever information you can get on that pellet as well. In my mind, knowing any of the specifics on how that thing breaks down, what it is made of, what the potential half life of the chemical/compounds involved are etc…having that knowledge as well as all the bloodwork you’ve done, it is only going to help in your plan moving forward. I’m sure you’ve thought about this as well.
