Anyone here use NMN, NR, resveratrol or other senolytics for longevity, energy or overall well-being?

Hello friends,
Given the demographic that we represent here on Eroids, I’m curious if any of you use senolytic compounds (increasing or inducing old cell apoptosis, autophagy and/or supporting ketogenesis) for well-being or longevity or simply for cellular detox. I think the most common are the ones I listed in the title of this post (NMN, NR & resveratrol) but also apigenin, quercitine, spermadine, fisiten & even berberine to some extent (which I know Dfromphilly posted about a few years back, in relation to AMPK pathway effects in comparison with metformin). These are all utilized for cellular health, and eliminating older cells that are essentially reproducing faulty copies of themselves. I feel these are a valuable adjunct to AAS use and helping mitigate the strenuous effects exogenous compounds and training stressors that we put our bodies through. For instance, they tend to help tissue regeneration and oxygen utilization as well as promote overall longevity. Healthy cells mean a healthy body. There are quite a few decent unbiased human trials (and of course many biased studies funded by the companies that sell these products).

I’m excited to see all the studies they have lined up. Modern medicinal research has focused on finding then treating one disease at a time. A handful of people are attempting to research aging, and not so much “lifespan” (total time alive), but rather by improve the “healthspan” (total time alive without disease/adverse health issue impacting life).

Really aging in general has been something not studied enough, and that’s always been curious to me as it’s the largest risk factor for many things such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, stroke, etc.

Recently there have been some very promising trial done on mice, and many more are scheduled to be performed on humans. I know Mayo put specific funding and onboarded a very skilled team for theirs, but it’s may be a decade before we see true results/info we can put to a broad use out of these trials.

This trial really kicked the movement up even more and caught my attention. Was a big first step in the modern medical research field: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/ebiom/article/PIIS2352-3964(18)30629-7/fulltext

Their main goal with this initial human trial was to prove that senescent cell clearance by senolytics works similarly in humans as it does in mice, as the mice trials showed a lot of promise.

The findings were that senolytics may alleviate physical dysfunction in IPF, and thus warranted all the current trials that are taking place. I have tried to stay up to date, but as I said many of this trials could take years, but if we can make progress towards curing senescence related diseases and possibly increase our healthspan & lifespan (things that have been thought to be nearly uncurable/impossible by the smartest minds on the planet) it could be revolutionary!

I think most are relatively safe. The major adverse reactions noted were respiratory distress, GI distress, and skin bruising/irritation. Nobody has had a lethal adverse reaction from what I have seen though.

Great topic and very relevant to today.

Maybe by the time we are all old men some “incurable” diseases will be cured and the average lifespan will be longer than ever!

Bump on NMN plus TMG

This one went dead last time, but the wife has taken interest and Eroids is always my go to for facts. The hype looks good, reviews are overall good and ROI seems outstanding if they can deliver.

Anyone with experience with either of these feedback would be great. Feedback on scams -v- reputable sources would be great too.

Not NMN, but wife has started NAD+ injections at 300mg per week. DM for source.

That is where she started her research, I will have a look at this too. Thanks.

NAD is great, and it has a lot more out there about it than most other options mentioned.

Yeah I take 1g of NMN and 1g of resveratrol and 50mg of NADH a day man it makes me feel great!!!

No extra supplementation with resveratrol caps separately, however I do get sufficient amount from daily ingestion of peanuts, blueberries and red grapes lol

Yeah man, those have a bunch of natural resveratrol in them. I imagine whole food sources of these things are likely better processed by the body than lab made supplements. It is impressive how small amounts of flavonoids & other seemingly inconspicuous micronutrients can have such a massive impact on our overall health.
