+ 1 Blood donation question
I'm Going to give blood tomorrow because my blood pressure and haemoglobin are getting high. Have a quick question.
I'm 4 weeks into a test e 750 cycle so things are just starting to kick in.
Is donating blood going to effectively set me back because it will be taking some of the extra testosterone from my blood stream or is the difference neglible? Even if the esters are only releasing a certain amount each day surely the donation will pull some of the unreleased test out too.
Also I'm starting to get better pumps which I'm enjoying and I assume that's from the increase in red blood cells. Will my pumps and therefore vascularity go down after donating?
It's only been 12 weeks since my last donation so I'm sure I could wait till my cycle is over if it's going to effect my progression. I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but in my head it seems to make sense.

I have been sitting on a donation bag for a while now. I’ve felt like shit toward the end of this cycle. Sleep apnea, fatigue, high blood pressure, etc. After reading this, I got the guts to stick that needle in my vein and drain the extra blood. I took out 500mL. It took 1-2minutes total. I feel a million times better already! Thank you!!!!! I will do this monthly from now on.
Do any of you guys like myself who hates the thought of having to donate take or do anything before hand to relax or calm you down a bit? I guess there are various options available but just wondered if others have any tips on making the whole ordeal less stressful and less like a scene out of saw lol
ha you think donate blood is hard? 6 months ago I have to donate platelets to an uncle of mine !the procedure last atleast 1 hour and you are connected to a mashine that from 1 ijection pulls out blood separate the platelets and the other sends back again !! I hope I never have to do that again in my life tbh!
OMG Man! That sounds awful...Did he realise he was getting a bit of Test & halo thrown in with it? hahaha
yeah it was!! hahaha yeah hes pumping iron after that !!
I find just talking to the nurse helps. Having an actual genuine conversation makes it a lot easier not to panic. I just asked her how long it took her to train etc and she took it from there.
Just do it yourself, throw the pint down the toilet
simples!
There's no way I could stick a needle in my vein..that's so scary..lol
you should see that 60 ml barrel being emptied down the sink lol
Like a murder scene!!
I keep saying I'm going to and then when it comes down to ordering the bags and the needles to do it I pussy out lol Do you do your own?
Yes p, I was using big dirty ould veterinary syringes to suck it out, but been getting the blood bags lately!
I swear to you, its the easiest thing ever to do.
honest ;-)
Hey you'd be proud of me Dude - registered on the National Blood donation site today and booked an appointment for 2 weeks time at a place just round the corner from me. 25% there lol
Lovely!!!!!
On cycle donations are essential!!!
I let mine go too far recently, it jumped so fast (I really should have let some out earlier, it was silly) that I couldnt draw it myself with a bag, kept coagulating and stopping.
Even with aspirin and loads fluids (as Kibby points out, essentials) I couldnt get it to flow easy.
Off to the doc so.
Well done ya man
Nice one mate!!!!
Drink and eat plenty before you go and take some chocolate with you for after.
YOU GOT THIS!!!!!!!!!
Cheers man :))
On the site it says they give you 500ml of fluid to drink before you donate that has to be drunk to allow you to cope with it better - whats that all about?! Is it Vodka and orange Lol
Lol
It just helps you stay hydrated and feel better whilst your donating.
But the more fluids you drink the better. Obviously if your well hydrated your blood is thinner/healthier and your donation will be alot easier mate
Why not just donate? Around here there seems to be a blood truck around every corner. Lol. I think now days they will post ur lab results from ur donation. Last time I tried apparantly I was missing some numbers and never got to see my results. I was hoping to see a lipids panel!
Yah, fair question 0.... well over here, they have all sorts of nonsense rules... if you lived in different countries during different times (related to the original aids epidemic [I dont have aids]), you cannot donate... got tattoos, or had work done within a time frame... cant donate... all sorts of other nonsense. It is archaic, but we had some serious blood related crises over the years so I get it.
Otherwise, I would at least some of the time, considering it could help others.
This said... blood bag, easiest thing on earth, all rbc issues sorted, boom.
Never thought about this. Thanks for the enlightenment brother, on the age-old epidemic and how to be resourceful.
Honestly the most "stressful " part of donating blood is the finger prick before hand......hate that part
I dodged getting the bags again buddy Lol - I had to use my normal pin supplier to get the right barrels and they refuse to sell the bags for some reason. I think there are tighter laws against them selling/stocking them...
They refuse to sell the bags from the place I recommended???
Or somewhere else???
From my usual shop buddy - they were out of the right size barrels from the place you recommended. They refuse to tell you what other bits you need when asked also Lol - its against the law apparently!
Everything you need is attached the bags that I bought mate
Yeah man. First time was rough and ready, used a 60ml syringe and kept drawing. Pure butchery. Check my last pic under my profile. But I am using the bags now. real clean, bit slow so I use a tourniquet to pool the blood a little.
Honestly its so fkn simple man. Do it once, never look back.
Nice one mate - stupid isn't it when I'm so use to pinning and the many times I've aspirated or pulled out only to see a load of blood. Its just a different scenario when you know you are going to see a lot of it lol I hear exactly what you are saying though, after the first time you wonder why you got yourself so worked up over it all
Not stupid at all. You could say 'fool for a doctor, fool for a patient' for doing a self phlebotomy too lol
But it isnt the worst of what I have done to myself lol
Yeah i look the other way.
Haha does curiosity not get the better of you?
No i have to look the other way. Will just say i used to put other things in there and now. Bad enough i can taste it when it goes in. Dont like those memories. So i just look the other way.
No need to worry , I donate every time I’m eligible, I would do double red if my blood type wasn’t so common. Donating keeps you healthy and helps other people in the process. Best of luck bro!
no youll feel better after donating and test levels wont be impacted
No messing start donating if blood pressure is getting high
there is no difference in pumps if any it got better cause when your hematocrit gets to high your blood thickens so less oxygen transport less pump, and definitely feel better after donation!!
You should be fine sir. I do a double red before and after every cycle, which is only once a year, then return to TRT. I was very nervous the first time, read all these horror stories of peoples ferritin levels tanking afterwards, low iron,ect..yet most of the forums where not for folks on AAS lol. My H/H has always be ok, never been higher than 51.2/16.8 yet i don't like messing with having those numbers spike any higher than that. This year i had my reading done before the donation and was at 50.2. The double red is a game changer, takes out double the red cells of a whole blood donation and returns plasma and saline's your not losing any blood volume if you will. I always get a good workout out before hand, donate, and rest up the rest of the day. Never an issue with lethargy or lose of strength, nothing. I actually felt pretty good if not great the next day. When my summer cycle ends in september i'll head back in again and donate double red again. The downside is the donation time is about 4 months before one can go back in,so if you have a high H/H you might wanna stick with the whole blood donation, let your bloodworm/dr decide that though. I'm also a fan of the double red as they use a pretty small needle and the entire process on the machine is about a 1/2 hr. You just lay down and chill. Make sure to address you BP issues, on and off cycle, nothing cool bout letting that get out of control. best of luck and keep us posted. There are no stupid questions here if it regards your health's long as you're willing to heed the advice of those who've been in your shoes!
I’ve donated for over five years and I’ve never noticed a difference in pumps after donating. I’ve also never noticed a difference with my hormone levels either.
I always feel better after donating and it should be part of most people’s routine. It’s a win/win for everyone.
EXACTLY BROTHER!!
This idea that blood donation may hinder your progress is yours and all mental.
Why worry? As always, keep it simple stupid.
And even if it may....
Do you want high blood pressure or "better pumps"?
Good luck Bro, may the force be with you! Something I really know I need to do also....
Mate any small amount of vascularity or test you may lose for probably 48hrs max will be offset massively with how much Better you will feel and the benefits you will be doing for your health
Give us an update on how it all went!
I'd look after your health first and wouldn't worry about losing vascularity Which I won't happen if you donate a little blood.
That sums it up. Personally I donate every 8 weeks.
If you donate that regularly through those size needles they put in your arm do you not start to build up scar tissue?
They are not going deep IM so I wouldn't be worried about scar tissue buildup. They just barely crack the surface on me. Once every few months isn't going to build up scar tissue either. Now if that thing was getting jabbed 1.5" deep on a weekly basis then I would be more concerned.
Yes very true, I guess 6 pins a year and it isn't actually going into muscle. I hadn't looked at it like that.
Absolutely agree!!
Your right. Thanks for the reply.
I heard it like this. There are 12 to 14 pints of blood in the average person. If you donate one of them. You will decrease by 1 /12th . Seems negligible. At that point. If your test is 3000 and you loose a 12th of it. You loose 250. And there will be more coming so i wouldn't worry about it.
What if you are The Terminator?....
Thanks for the comprehensive answer. I'm going to leave this post up just in case anyone in future is wondering the same.
Make sure your well hydrated. I get my bloods done every 6 to 8 weeks. Plenty of water before hand and im normal on the high side for iron, rbc, hemoglobin and hematocrit. So ive been wanting to donate to thin out. The wife and i were in town one morning and saw the blood drive wagon. Said hey lets go now. The morning was a little hectic and i wasnt drinking a ton of water like usual. I barely made the limit. It was 59. The cut off is 60. And the thought of getting bleed out in the back of a van (very similar to the one Ed drives) no homo! had my blood presure pretty high. But they let me squeak in and i feel a ton better. So drink a few liters before you go.
