I have followed Conor since Cagewarriors but there are far more worthwhile people to get a film made out of them than him. Most MMA fighters start off unemployed and fighting for ends meat, his story is hardly unique. Fuck sake BJ Penn the first person to hold two weight class belts, I know not at same time, his story for me is a lot more interesting than Conors.
In my opinion, McGregor is sooooooo over-rated. He a hell of an entertainer. I'll give him that.
Whilst I agree that he carries a bigger aura than he has earned thus far, I don't believe him to be over rated as such. Certainly up there in terms of ability and skill I feel.
From a pure MMA perspective, he is a phenom
Even in the grappling stakes, he has created something that mitigates those shortcomings.

I think he's got a strong standing game, and his cage confidence is un-matched but his ground game limits him. He will never be able to hang with a top shelf Gracie Bjj student and he'll never be able to hang with an elite wrestler. Watch. Some one will come along in the near future with an iron jaw, strong standup and a flawless ground game and he's done. A midget Jon Jones would do be the ticket.

That being said, he can certainly handle himself in a fight. But that is not the game he dictates. Floyd is a ring general who demolishing the scorecards and at the end of every fight he looks completely untouched and barely even breaking sweat. Only a fool would stand in front of a professional boxer and use his head as punching bag ala Rocky Balboa style. His job is not to "beat dudes down" but win a professional boxing competition. Floyd is the best boxer there is and Connor will not even be able to find him in the ring to attempt to land anything. This contest is pure spectacle. And Connor is not even the best MMA fighter right now, he is a just a tremendous loud-mouth with a great look who can promote himself to the moon. Which with this fight, he certainly has. Win lose or draw. Connor wins in his bankbook

James Toney Vs. Randy Couture
Toney, an absolute badass in the ring underestimated a ground artist like Couture. Toney probably trained hours and hours on takedown defenses and yet was taken down quite easily with a textbook low-level single. I didn't matter how big of a badass Toney was, Couture had 40 years of wrestling experience. You cant get 40 years of experience without putting in 40 years.
McGregor has a strong standup game but it's not boxing. he doesn't have the ring time not even close. He will get killed just like JAMES Toney did.
Even Couture was smart enough not to try to box Toney. And Couture had an excellent stand up game. Better than McGregor's in my opinion.

McGregor will have a strategy very clearly defined that will play to his strengths and MM's weaknesses
Everyone thinks they are the best till the hammer comes down
Floyd can't handle power shots, can't handle southpaws and is facing someone with an excellent counter game
