+ 1 Mayweather McGregor

ad

Anyone think Mayweather will sign?

McGregor has inked his contract so 1 side done, but Mayweather is only beginning negotiations and hesitant to commit

Hard to see him actually walking away from that kinda payday, but he has done it to Pacman before....

hmmmm

Engineereddisaster's picture

Jayzgainz, I believe you also owe me an avi change for a week with a boatload of full homos.

Hats off to juicebox. The avi change made my day. Lmao

Engineereddisaster's picture

Oh shit bitches! Welcome to school! Put up the fag flags!

The Mick was outclassed every single round. Mayweather will sustain more injuries at his strip club tonight than he did in that fight.

40 year old worn out man ate that beeeotch for lunch.
Just remember who your daddy is....That's right Me.

Better change the avi's homos!! lolololol.

I think it's safe to say that I've forgotten more about the fight game than Giard-pap will ever know.

All my love, No homo
Ed

I'm going for McGregor myself. FMM is a great boxer, but lets be honest, his resume has been hand fed to him.. anyone who has been worthy was either too old or little. The couple of fights he had to work for, d idnt even end in KO (except the sucker punch, which was well deserved!) McGregor is going to win in the 4th round. If he doesn't, FMM is going to pick him apart and win by decision. Lol

giardap's picture

I was watching a backstage video of Mayweather. He gave his thinking away Id say... he said; motherfucka can go for 3 rounds, but he aint gonna go for 12
The way he said it was about Conor's gas tank and his opportunity.

So, I expect Floyd to use his shoulder roll and rope a dope type defence to allow McGregor to tire in the first 3 rounds and then he will likely try to walk him down, and win rounds with the left jab initially but also try to clip him with bodyshots. Paulie said conor faded in the mid rounds of their 12 r spar. So Conor's gas tank still might not be up to scratch, we will have to see

I expect Conor to be an MMA fighter, totally unorthodox and to try to hurt Floyd badly over 12 rounds with hard precision punches from distance. The Diaz fights are what have really propelled him forward to be possibly able to pull this off. He learned the value of his precision, the value of not forcing the KO and biding his time. Conor has a lovely FMM style/inspired shoulder roll too and good left counter so that should be a factor in close.

Im putting money on Conor today for the win.

giardap's picture

I think this guesstimate on of what would happen was pretty much spot on, bar the final outcome!

well done on the win!

0newheelup's picture

Bro.. what a fight. I was impressed by both. You was so close, that was almost play by play. Connor pushed for the first 3 and then Floyd took control. Floyd was on the advance, which I've havent seen from him. Connor did gas out, but he Cldve caught a second wind. I didn't agree with the ref stop tko. Too bad, but probably saved boxing, that Connor lost it. But what a fight, first time in years I tuned in to watch a boxing match.

giardap's picture

Yeah dude, Amazing fight, we all got our money's worth
It was great to see Conor outbox him and then great to see Floyd's strategy win through
Floyd knew he wouldn't last and was more than happy to let him throw his punches
With that fight purse, both of the lads are winner!

(Full homo)

Engineereddisaster's picture

Bro, Floyd played with him for the first three rounds and then opened a can of whoop ass. The ref did McGregor a huge favor by stopping that fight. A few more punches and the mick would have been eating canvas. In a very bad way. McGregor had no shot, and you could see the same "oh shit" look in his eyes that he had in the Diaz fight. The only difference is that the oh shit came in round one when he realized that he wasn't going to be able to hit Mayweather.
The paper champion of the UFC got worked in a very bad way by a retired 40 year old man. Add that shit to the resume.

0newheelup's picture

I have to agree on a lot of stuff ur saying, but don't be over dramatic. Lol. Floyd impressed me, esp like u mentioned, came out of retirement, hes 40, and he boxed differently from what I usually see. He wasn't on the defense, he was stalking his prey! But, he did wait for over zealous Connor to gas out in the 4th before doing this. Not a bad thing, very smart. But give Connor his dues, hes not even a boxer. He went 10 rounds, landing all kinds of nice hits. I'm not going to say that he wld have knocked Floyd out in the 11 or 12, but both these guys are pros and they stopped it tko. Connor cld have regained his composure and probably finish all 12 rounds? Much props to both of them, but FMM still didnt finish the fight. I guess they knew they Can't have the boxing world champs fight being decided off the score cards against a UFC fighters callout.. im still very impressed w both of them! Great fight

Engineereddisaster's picture

Don't call me OVER DRAMATIC! You'll. Be my final masterpiece!

Nah bro McGregor was done. Any longer would have been embarrassing for him. I thought the game plan was a thing of beauty.
What a way to put a capstone on your career by taking a huge risk to prove the legitimacy of your art.

0newheelup's picture

Lol.. ok ok. I tap out... It was great way to capstone a great career... 50-0. The man earned my respect and boxing gets to keep it's reputation in tact as a precision combat sport. This was a good thread. Thanks brother

Engineereddisaster's picture

+2 for playing. Smile

Engineereddisaster's picture

WRONG!

giardap's picture

What an amazing talent, and what a phenomenal career, amazing. His blueprint for the win is all in there...

Some logical commentary on the sparring video:

https://youtu.be/kZMO7LBhkBs

giardap's picture

If ever there was a room of biased people, that's it!!!

Engineereddisaster's picture

Randy Couture a man in the UFC hall of fame biased towards boxing? Lol. Ok

giardap's picture

Yeah and?!

You don't know his history with Dana, Zuffa, his son etc? He is biased against the UFC, not necessarily towards boxing!

Dana W and RC had a massive falling out, very public. He has pretty much bashed the UFC since.
His son also competed but unsuccessfully, and RC blames DW for his sons failed UFC career.

Beyond the bad feelings there, Couture has another interesting but understandable bias. He is a master tactician when it comes to leveraging his strengths. He is an exceptional Oly wrassler and knows how to dirty box from the clinch better tan most (both he and Lindland were beasts at it), and plays within that range, primarily using feints going forward or back to get the clinch. And that's pretty much it. So the bias in this sense, comes form the fact that he feels, should you play outside of your core strengths, you are setting up for failure. In this case the core strength is the game and type of boxing it leverages.

It makes sense, it is logical, and on paper it's clearly a no brainer!..... but it is still a biased opinion based on his own successes/experiences within MMA rather than on those of an MMA striker engaging in a boxing match.

Engineereddisaster's picture

I'm pretty sure that I know Couture's history....There is a pretty good chance that I have heard it directly from his own mouth.
That being said, there is no one in the world who would love to see an MMA fighter beat boxing's greatest like Randy Couture.
I myself would love to see Connor McTatereater beat Floyd. However, l share the same opinion as Randy because I know as Randy does, what it takes to become one of the best in a specialized art. That shit doesn't come naturally and it doesn't come over night. Randy is one of the greatest wrestlers ever because he has hours and hours of competitive wrestling time and has been competing since he was a boy. Would he be able to hang with Erberth Santos de Mesquita in a BJJ match? Hell no. is Erberth going to be able to hang with Randy in a Greco Match? Hell no. Why?
Because it a specialty that requires match time and an entire life worth of experience.
Mayweather has dedicated his entire life to to the art of boxing. McGregor isn't going to eat a Magic potato and all of a sudden gain thousands of hours of boxing ring time. It ain't happening. Does he have a punchers chance? Sure.
Will he win? Hell no. If he does win and not by a lucky k.o. then I submit to you that sport of boxing is a sham.

giardap's picture

Well if you've heard his recent history from his mouth you know exactly why he is biased against the UFC! But, regardless, I am not suggesting he doesnt believe what he has been saying, just that he is biased for the many reasons below.

Your analogy of GRW versus BJJ is as silly as the notion of comparing MMA to Boxing. Had you said Judo versus BJJ, that would make sense as a comparison.

Why does it have to be all or nothing? Conor is a phenomenal striker. He has more than a punchers chance and is also the bigger, stronger man with savage ring IQ. He is skilled, so why would a victory by him make boxing a sham? He will strike his way, Floyd will strike his own way, but how could anyone suggest that Conor couldnt, for example, remain at distance and land shots across the duration of 36 mins? To suggest he cannot hit the man would be crazy? Floyd is good, but he gets hit by lesser boxers than himself!

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. I would have compared Judo but I believe that Randy Couture would dominate the Judo circuits. I say that because I once worked over a Judo instructor with my wrestling skills...at a Judo clinic hence I don't respect Judo to the same level that I respect BJJ. But that's neither here no there.
Look, I get it, you are Irish, it's natural to cheer for your boy, but It's not going to happen. It's like having the world pentathlon champion race the world champion 100 meter sprinter.
It just doesn't work.
When it is all said and done, you and the rest of the Irish will see that McGregor isn't nothing but a Gombeen.
That's right I said it...Gombeen.
Will he strike Floyd? Maybe. But you underestimate Floyds jaw. Conor is a proven quitter when the shit comes down. FLOYD doesn't quit. Ever.
Boxing is an art not a brawl and Floyd is the master Artist.
Conner has really nice crayons and can paint a pretty mean horse.

giardap's picture

You do me a disservice Ed! I'm a fight fan first and foremost. I'm a Floyd fan AND a Connor fan! I'm a boxing fan, an MMA fan and so on!
And yup, I'm Irish and support my countryman but I also support his club as I used train there before there even was a Connor mcgregor!
But above all of that I'm a fight fan!

I don't underestimate Floyd jaw. That won't be his big asset though. He's had his bell run by smaller men than Mcgregor. I reckon his conditioning is far superior to mcgregor in the aerobic sense. He can't hit hard anymore with his hand problems so I caNt visualise him clipping mcgregor but his ability to make Conon miss, that's where it's at for him and he is expert at it. Connor is all fast twitch so he has that ko power, but his gas tank has been suspect

You call him a quitter because of 1 sub in MMA?!
Clearly you've never had an MMA fight and/or gassed out in an mma or other combat sport fight??
It's so bad you cannot raise your arms, literally. It's one of the worst things ever. Can barely lift your head or turn it even. It's such a weird thing

I still see Connor winning this. Particularly now there is 8oz glove on the table
Just because he fights differently to boxers in boxing fights doesn't mean it cannot translate. I'll never understand how people can be so closed minded about these things
I get passion and supporting your boy etc. But to be closed minded to different possibilities... it sets us up for failure in the long run

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. Clearly you totally have me and my fight experience figured out. If it makes any difference...I had a pretty intense game of Dungeons and Dragons once and I totally wanted to quit but I fought through it. This in itself qualifies me to make predictions on this fight.
All my levity aside...you will see as this fight goes the way that I predict that you would be safe to bet on the fact that I have forgotten more about the fight game than you will ever understand in this lifetime.
I look forward to your apology and your new all homo AVI.

All my love, no homo
Ed

giardap's picture

I doubt you have Ed, doubt it very, very much!!!

As McG would say.... I AM the fight game
lol

Engineereddisaster's picture

You are the what?

That's right son. Welcome to school.

Engineereddisaster's picture

We'll see. In a couple of weeks you'll see that watching YouTube fight videos and Wikipedia didn't adequately prepare you to make a correct call on this fight.

giardap's picture

Indeed we will see Ed! Get your high heels polished ahead of time!
We will want you well presented that week

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. I'm not too worried about it.
On a side note, I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of excited for the fight. It should be fun to watch no matter the outcome.
McGregor is one lucky m-effer. He has absolutely nothing to lose in this fight.
I've got to hand it to him, he played his cards perfectly for a huge payday.

giardap's picture

I'll say one thing man, if there were ever two smart mofo's it;s McG and FMM
some people have it and most dont, they do, they are so savvy when it comes to building something they can sell
regardless of the outcome, you gotta respect their entrepreneurial styles!

Yeah Im pumped too. Its a spectacle and we all love a spectacle!!!

I got it wrong. .. it's actually 3 rights that connected

Actually its a right left, right left and right uppercut

Engineereddisaster's picture

Meh, give me a video of a the full fight. Meh, give me a fight with an in shape fighter.

giardap's picture

Paulie looked a little pudgy for sure

Mayweather is looking ripped now

giardap's picture
giardap's picture
Engineereddisaster's picture

A three second clip...just as Paulie described in the interview isn't a spanking. That wasn't a man getting rocked. Hell no.
McGregor is going to get his ass handed to him.
Damn, it really does sound like McGregor is a dirt bag. He takes an old out of shape retired fighter who is in it to help him and screws him. The pics, this little clip....very low class.
It will be a one sided victory. Mayweather, the old man, will take that punk to school. Take that to the bank.

giardap's picture

Watch it again! Look at the right jab left hook right uppercit
It's clear as day, Spanked like a red haired step-child
That is a far cry from Paulie's description!

For what it's worth I completely believed what Paulie said until I saw the clip which speaks for itself
Paulie may have beleven it himself of course. It happens often when you get your bell rung

Engineereddisaster's picture

That was interesting. Again....shows what kind of shitty character McGregor is.

Engineereddisaster's picture

Get your tickets kids! 2k for the nose bleeds, 15k for decent seats and 50k if you want to sit by the McGregor entrance. Lol.
I got bargain for my ticket in section E. unfortunately it's located right between Jenna Jameson and Tito Oritiz-Jameson. Lol

Talk about an estrogen sandwich !!!
