Cholesterol Levels on Cycle

ad

I wanted to ask the importance of cholesterol levels on cycle.

Currently I am in week 12 of a 20 week Test E and Primo E cycle. The first 10 weeks was Test E 500mg per week and Primo 850 mg per week. Weeks 11-20 is Test E 750mg per week, Primo 850mg per week.

My blood pressure has been a consistant 120/78 and is being measured twice per week.

My bloods are taken every 6 weeks on cycle and have been very consistant aside from cholesterol levels changing.

My HDL is going down and my LDL is going up.

My overall level is still not bad, but it seems to be getting progressively worse.

Here are results:

PRIOR TO CYCLE:

Total Cholesterol: 156 mg/DL
HDL: 41 mg/DL
LDL: 106 mg/DL

AFTER 6 WEEKS ON CYCLE:

Total Cholesterol: 144 mg/DL
HDL: 22 mg/DL
LDL: 111 mg/DL

AFTER 12 WEEKS ON CYCLE (CURRENT)

Total Cholesterol: 167 mg/DL
HDL: 19 mg/DL
LDL: 136 mg/DL

Is there anything to be concerned with? My cholesterol level is at 167 currently which isnt that bad and my blood pressure is near perfect. My cholesterol prior to my cycle was 156, so not a huge overall change, but that HDL has been cut in half.

Any thoughts??

I like what Irongame wrote below, very scientific. My reaction to your question is a little different. Bro, in general, steroids are not a route to improve your health. Different compounds and stacks of compounds will TRASH your cholesterol, elevate your BP, turn your blood into a syrupy goo which is a nice precursor to a coronary, stress out your liver and your kidneys and adrenal glands and thyroid glands, burn up your HPTA and together with different peptides set the stage for the growth of any preexisting cancers and the list goes on and on and on. Certain compounds are even psycho active and can usher in panic attacks, depression, and even nightmares bordering on night terrors.

Eroids is filled with thousands of posts on things we can all do do mitigate the damaging side effects of anabolics and there are folk that take precautions and are still healthy after 30+ years of use.

OTOH, there is an ever growing list of dead champion bodybuilders many of great character that are deeply missed by there friends, family, and fans. We like to imagine that each of these deaths had nothing to do with performance enhancing chemicals because it makes us feel safer if we do, but really, how many of us believe that? Some guys bit the dust from diuretics, not from roids for sure. Some had preexisting health problems of which they were not aware that were aggravated by the use of PEDs. And, so forth.

This community is dedicated to safety in steroid use. Absolutely dedicated to it.

But, bro, when I see a post like yours, it makes me think - do you really think you are going to maintain perfect bloodwork as you move forward in your steroid career? If you hope that your steroid use will be completely and forever devoid of any and all health consequences, stop now.

If you want the physique, or the strength, or the endurance that only steroid use can produce, admit and accept the fact that it is not without risk. Most of us can contain the risk by being informed and being sensible. Just don't be naive.

I guess what shocked me a bit about your post is that you were unaware of what steroids in general do to cholesterol and HDL/LDL ratios and you are a user. The adverse effects of steroids on cholesterol is a real basic thing bro that I just feel you should have known before your first pin from even cursory research.

End of rant . . . Smile Smile

I appreciate your comment.

I will say though, that I was well aware of the effects on cholesterol before I ever pinned.

I guess I should have phrased it as: "how dangerous are my levels compared to what other more advanced users have seen?"

In that case, I think Irongame has you covered.

The biggest thing doctors look at is your ratio, 3.5 and below is optimal, hdl to ldl ratio i believe it is. Even at 4.5 my doc said i had nothing to worry about. Genetically I have low HDL, the highest its ever gotten is 32 and that was on nolvadex which increase hdl, it usually sits around 29ish. My Dad and my grandpa are the same exact way. My dad starting working out seriously, not like us but running miles everyday, playing tennis, lifting some etc and after 2 years of doing this maybe a bit longer and with a huge overall in his diet he got his up into the 40s for the first time ever. So basically cardio was the answer, and lots of it man, eveyday, sometimes twice a day. Your bp is good, your total cholesterol is great, dont sweat it. Try to get your ratio down, try this, it will really lower your LDL
20mgs policansol once a day
2400mgs red yeast rice twice per day ( Its a natural satin, a very very good one)
Alot of fish oil
optional, coQ10, Garlic extract.
Ive had guys come to me with total cholesterols of over 300 and sky high LDLs, way higher then yours and within a month or so on this regime they were back below 200. If you cut your LDL back down to the 70s or so it will really improve your ratio, which again is what the doctors look at as the most important part of a lipid panel.

Thanks man, that is some awesome advice.

You seem quite solid on your bloods and keeping up with your levels. I would look into GW 501516 for your cholesterol. There is also a huge upside to cardio. Do a little homework on it.

thanks. I have used GW 501516 before, but I didnt do bloods back then... I do cardio, but very low intensity walking. maybe i should up the intensity a bit... thanks

Niacin in the form of nicotinic acid has some benefits to HDL cholesterol in some individuals. For me it helps
