+ 3 DOMS Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness

ad

I can't believe I am writing this considering this is a steroid site and if you don't know what DOMS is or how
achieve and embrace it then well, you really have no business cruising a steroid site looking for gear. But in all fairness maybe your training has gotten stale and you really do not experience DOMS as once before. Well then I say you probably/maybe have lost your intensity, or you keep doing the same mistakes over and over, or don't know how to obtain the feeling of muscle soreness any more.

Anyways let's start when you first started with weight training and you body was sore as hell for days and you kinda felt run down and probably may not have wanted to hit the gym again because you were being a pussy and didn't want cope with the pain. Well that pain was from you creating small microscopic tears in the muscle. Most people quit exercising within the first 2 weeks and it's most likely due to DOMS and not being able to push through.

For us guys who are here to grow, we know that breaking down the muscle in the gym and then feeding it with the adequate protein and total calories is the fastest way to recover the muscle group that has experienced DOMS. For me just hitting another muscle group the next day shifts the DOMS from that area and it's a continuous cycle.

So how do we obtain it? Well like I said it starts with intensity, and some knowledge where your sweet spot is. Let's take for example squatting (quad training) and how I obtain it.

Warmup 135x20 No DOMS here...just getting the blood flowing and my breathing down
225 x20 A little more challenging but I'm not going to leave the gym hobbling
275 x15 Sweet spot...this is where my quads are burning and tearing some fibers
315 x12 Again sweet spot and a little more intensity, most definitely tearing those quads up
365 x12 This is where I am almost guaranteeing I am leaving legless
405 x10 Super concentrating on form here. Not just heaving weight
455 x8 Usually it's here and up when it's just power and will to press and not enough pump in the legs to create DOMS for me
505 x6 Again no DOMS but I go up to this weight to keep my ceiling of strength high.

Now to assure I create DOMS for quads I will drop set from 355 down to 145 doing 8 reps of each, or go hit the leg press and start with the highest weight I can handle and drop set that down. Another form would be to superset quad exercises. (ex hack squat and leg extentions).

So what this proves to myself is that too light or too heavy of weight (on it's own, not drop set or supersetted) will not tear down the fibers and I would be wasting my time and effort. Only in the offseason will I raise the ceiling of weight higher to gain more strength so that the "sweet spot" will be more weight.
Doing 600 lbs for 1 rep is wasting my time and energy. If your a powerlifter then have at it, as that would pertain to your training style. Lifting like that does not create muscle soreness for me just joint and tendon soreness, which I don't need.

Ok so now you leave the gym with protein shake and carbs sucked down already and dizzy, hungry and just want to go cry to mommy. The fasted way to recovery (DOMS) is food and highly underrated, WATER! Yes water, being dehydrated will surely take you out of this game real quick and also your DOMS will linger longer than usual.
Bring your own water to workout and a lot of it. Taking sips from the water bubbler is not going to properly hydrate you especially if your training intensity.

Some people use ibuprofen but shit fuck that, this is what you went to the gym for (DOMS), growth, pump, self esteem. Ibuprofen on top of steroids is just masking
what you are trying to achieve and fucking with your stomach and liver. Cardio and stretching will help with increased blood flow/oxygen to the area to wash away the
chemical irritants and lactic acid responsible for the pain.

Embrace it! Every workout you should be aiming to achieve DOMS. You guys with the Planet Fitness cards on your keychain and brag to your coworkers and friends that you went to the gym today, take head to this because you are just going through the motions and kidding yourself that you really did a workout that progressed you forward muscle wise.

I see you have not included reference to arachidonic acid in relation to DOMS.
When I supplement with arachidonic acid doms are increased despite leaving intensity in the tank. I've read the reason your initial workout leaves you more sore is because those unworked muscles have higher stores of arachidonic acid which declines with subsequent workouts. Ditto with new exercises because you are calling upon new muscle fibers. I know William Llewelyn pushes his product during pct or offseason therapy that has arachidonic acid in it. I first used it solo in 2007 and gained 10lbs off just that. Sore as a mf

Never supplemented AA but it can also cause chronic inflammation in the whole body that could cause a whole mess of things, i.e.....Arthritis, Alzheimer's, Cancer and other bad shit.

I haven't referenced arachidonic acid and many other things regarding DOMS but that's why we have a forum for members to add their experiences and info to the topic.

I am already eating foods that keep arachidonic acid high. Red meat, yolks, organ meat.

I see why you would be sore as a MoFo supplementing with it though. Taking AA while on Winstrol would probably leave you feeling crippled.

You still using it? And has it still worked out for you?

I forgot I do have a bottle of xfactor advanced I was planning on taking when I finish my cycle. 6 weeks to go. It's a weird thing about xfactor... The original version was supposed to be taken away from omega 3s to play on the inflammation, but the advanced contains fish oil, I assume to minimize the inflammation. I haven't taken the supp since I took bulk powdered AA in 2008, so it will be interesting to see what happens coming off 600mg test into it. I probably would never take it on cycle, especially if I were taking something such as stanozolol. Sounds rough and painful
