+ 1 New article on manipulating carb content
ad
I ran across this today and found it interesting. For meso's like me we're constantly looking for ways to reduce carb content or better yet reduce simple starches in our diet to stay lean. A scientist has recently discovered a way to cook rice (and other grains/starch laden foods) in a way that chemically reduces the starch (simple carb) content. Controlling insulin spikes is at the core of fat loss/muscle gain. I'm going to switch up the way I cook my sweet potatoes/rice and see how it works out.

Thanks for the article.
RustyhookerThey're referring to basic white rice and not the brown correct? I thought by going with brown rice the starches are reduced. The cost is longer cooking times.
Either or. They tested this method on 32 grains. Ultimately the find is by adding coconut oil and cooling for 12 hours after they can reduce the calorie content related to the starches from 10 to potentially 50 percent depending on the grain. Thats a sweet gain if you get to eat the same volume of food.
RustyhookerGetting the filler with less starches. Nice find!
