40 min workout or longer?
ad
So big ben says keep to the 40 sec set's 40 sec rest 40 min workout cause testosterone falls off rapidly after 30-45 mins but what about when your cycling? I haven't been able to find anything different should you still stick to the 40 min window? Are you triggering more total production or just more free testosterone numbers within that 40 mins?

Don't put a time limit on it man, try to split up your workout to do one body part a day and do about 20 sets total doing 4 or 5 exercises.
I don't put a time frame on it. I stop when I feel satisfied. Could be an hour, could be 45 minutes. Depends what I'm doing. Listen to your body, it'll tell you if you're over doing something or, not doing enough.
I usually trained for hour+ but have also tried about 40 minute workouts. I manage to get it done but feel significantly better after a longer ~hour workout. I feel i can rest more to workout more and therefore gain more.
I cant remember the study but over and hour and half of vigorous exercise causes cortisol to raise very high. So try not to take all day. Russian athletes will even split their work outs into twice a day with main heavy lifts and then accessory lifts to keep workout windows small
AnonI wouldn't worry about length of your workout I like to shoot to complete my workout in an hour depending on my workout combination and no longer then 1.5 hours. The shorter rest will have you working your ass off. Your training should be high intensity. While your cycling you need to push those limits and take advantage of all that additional help from the hormones. So push those sets to the last rep and then continue with forced partial reps. This ensures all fibers get a chance for engagement. Pay extra attention to your mind muscle connection so you know your working the target muscle to failure. During your cycle you don't have to worry about structuring your workouts for optimal hormone release since you are taking exogenous hormones. If the training style works for you continue with it but blast your limits and don't worry about restricting your time based on the hormone optimization protocol. I haven't tried it but I believe the idea to be focused on individuals not on AAS. Good luck!
Yea, this part of what he preaches is confusing. If I am correct though, his main programs default to people not using any AAS. So I think that is what is in mind. Our natural production of TEST is shut down so this doesn't apply to people on cycle. I think your set should always last at least 40 seconds though, I know TUT (Time Under Tension) has really helped me over this past year.
Try applying his lifting methods to your exercises, but don't worry about the length of your workout as much. But 40 second rests are amazing!
