Prolactin too high, now what?

ad

Hey guys,

Looking for some input from those of you who have had "in the trench" experience with managing Prolactin levels. (please don't copy and paste something from a google search to try earning karma points, cool points, etc)

Currently my prolactin levels came back at 18.1 which is about 3 points or so higher than the normal range according to my lab results.

Have any of you personally had any success lowing your prolactin levels naturally (b6, zinc, vitamin e, etc.) ? If so, how many points on your blood test were you able to lower from taking natural supplements? What was your regimen?

Feel free to contribute if you have experience that you feel are relative to this topic, thanks!

Honestly, the one time I had high prolactin on npp, I started vitamin b6 at 600mgs ed for 3 days then dropped it to 200mgs ed for the remainder of the cycle, slowly ramped up my some letro over a week and then switched to aromasin. If you control your estrogen you will control prolatcin. And i wasn't controlling my estrogen. Look into B6 for prolactin, especially if your not actually running 19-nors. B6 is toxic over 200mgs ed but for 3 days or so at 600mgs it won't cause any problems, then drop it to 200 for a while. Ive know people to run 600-800 for months without problems.

Could be a fluke, could be that's just where your levels sit naturally, could be just your prolactin at the moment was a bit topped off. Here's a question for ya. A weird one, but potentially relevant. Did you have sex or rub one out really close to test time? I don't know how much it really elevates prolactin, however prolactin is in fact naturally released after orgasm. That's why you have that little waiting period where you gotta chill out for a bit before gettin down for round 2. Which is what equates to tren/deca dick. Of course I could be way off, but hey, maybe I'm spot on and now you have your explanation. I'd get tested again in a week or so and see what's up then. BTW are you even experiencing prolactin sides? Also, if you're really wanting to get your prolactin levels in check, there's nothing wrong with using a DA like prami to subdue it, of course you'll only want to use a VERY small amount for a very limited time because there's no drug in your system actually raising prolactin. But again, retest first, no drugs until you have solid conclusive evidence that they're needed.

Great insight,

I did have sex the night before, Roughly 12 hours before the test. I dont notice any side effects. My Dr. scared the shit out of me when he said sometimes raised prolactin levels can be associated with a tumor. He did say that it is rare and not concerned much about it because my levels are not abnormally high but we never wanna hear that right?

I am gonna start taking some vitamin e, zinc, etc and re due my test in a month and update you all.

Thanks for the input birdbear

Are you on cycle now? If so, what are you running?

Have been on trt going on 12 months.

Every time I post my dose I get shit for it on here because I have been going as high as 370mg per week , under my clinic's supervision.

please do not tell me how screwed up that is and how thats not trt, etc. lets stick to the topic people (not you caralyst, I am referring to the people who will jump on me for calling it trt, I know I have been abusing it to an extent)

Bro if you dont like hearing what people have to say then take your happy ass to the google search bar and do your own research.Instead of posting question you probably could find out on your own.The reason I come at you like this is simple "please do not tell me how screwed up that is and how thats not trt, etc. lets stick to the topic people"You post in an open forum you put yourself at the mercy of everyone fact bro Said with all due respect

  1. I have taken "my happy ass" to the search bar and have not found relevant info on this SPECIFIC question

  2. I mention that because my obvious high dose of "trt" is often the cause of a specific question becoming sidetracked in several directions

Macuna Pruriens. Researchers in India found that an extract (5 grams of a certain product) from the legume called Velvet Bean not only gave a nice boost in testosterone from 449 to 572 ng/dl, but also dropped prolactin levels from 10.76 to 7.28 ng/ml, at least in men struggling with fertility. [3] For those without mathematical superpowers, that's a 27% increase in testosterone and a 33% drop in prolactin. Keep in mind that a specific subpopulation was studied in this case. peaktestosterone.com(thats the website idk how to post a link)literally 30 seconds of research

Thanks but I am looking for what we call "In the trench experience"

Trapsquatch's picture

LOL so I could of said hey I took velvet bean and it lowered my prolactin 3 points and you would have gobbled it up,but because I didnt personally yet a STUDY was done you call it invalid hmmmmm.alright well good luck to you bro

Broctavius's picture

Yea I'm gonna call that study invalid. Especially since the so called study was from peak testosterone.com

That's some asshole peddling his snakeoil most likely. Academic journals from databases and libraries are the only truly valid sources of info. Check "google scholar" for actual info. I call it a bullshit filter. Search regular google some more I bet you'll find more studies of how big foot exists. Learning to distinguish good sources of info from bad is a good skill to have.

Sir, arguing on the internet is counterproductive. Excuse me if your feelings were hurt.

I've seen your other posts, not going into that here.

Nothing else other than test? If so I would suggest checking in with the doc. It's not a hugely elevated level, nothing to get too excited about, but it could be caused by a couple of medical issues. Typical range is 2-18, you're only just over.

redone's picture

Thanks Catalyst,

Yes, Testosterone cyp. has been the only thing I have ran. I am reading that supposedly Vitamin e can cut those numbers down dramatically. Have you had any experience with lowering your prolactin?

Catalyst's picture

Prolactin typically raises when using 19nor compounds, which people tend to combat with drugs like caber and prami. Ive used these drugs in that scenario, yes, many times, but I've never (knowingly at least) had raised prolactin without there being a reason for it. I also work in research science in the pharmaceutical industry ;)

In your case, I really wouldn't worry, there's no exogenous drugs going into your system that would make any significant difference, (one could argue test could give a minor elevation in some people). As mentioned, might want to get it checked with the doc / endo just in case. Certainly don't suggest using anti prolactin drugs in your case without seeing a medical professional as there's no exogenous compound to cause a problem.

Definitely get yourself done vitamin e - reduces prolactin in most, slowly but surely. Wont do you any harm either way Smile

Hope that helps.

Yes it does, thanks Catalyst!
