Absolutely Gutted - Wasted Genotropin Pen - Need Help
So I finally came to inject my Genotropin pen. Being the person I am, I didn't like the thought of not being able to aspirate, so I mixed the pen as normal, gently titled pen to mix the power and water, all went well. Then I stuck the syringe in like some motherf*cking moron! I didn't realize the vial would be so high pressured, lots and lots of Genotropin came into the vial, at least 20ius worth, it came in really foamy, so I tried to rectify my stupid mistake and gently poured the mixture back into the pen cartridge. I left the amount I wanted in the syringe (4ius) and it was very foamy, I waited 20 mins the foams didn't fully disappear, so I put it back into the cartridge.
I then tried to let air out of the cartridge by poking a few holes in it with the syringe, it didn't work, all poking it did was make more mixture come out. How pressurised are these f*cking things??
I tried one last time to get my 4ius, it took a while to get the exact amount, then when I finally did, it was still very foamy, so I thought injecting foamy mixture surely can't be good for me as it's essentially a lot of air. So I gave up!
Have I basically wasted the whole pen? I wouldn't even mind if I had wasted the whole pen and learnt a lesson, but I haven't, I don't know what to do differently next time. Sticking the syringe into the cartridge is awkward enough without having to stop the mixture from pissing in. Also trying to be accurate and get bang on 4ius just goes straight out of the window, I can't even get any amount of ius without it being really foamy.
What should I do differently? I'm desperate for help, I feel like total shit after this. I'm gutted that I've wasted a whole pen and not even learnt a lesson, I also wasted 3 syringes as every one ended up with a blunt or bent needle at the end of it, due to it being so awkward to get the correct amount out.
Please please help me, I will be so so grateful of any replies, please call me an idiot as much as you like, I am an idiot and I'm just gutted!
Also should I bin the pen that I've messed up? I planned on just practicing with it now as it seems useless now.
Oh forgot to include it smells like band aid? It smells exactly the same as a hospital smells, is this a normal odor for Genotropin?

No need to aspirate with tiny gh shots. Why make it so confusing?
I too get a very strong Band aid smell -from the needle i think, it didn't smell until I opened one.

Greg - I'm almost certain that the smell is from the Genotropin itself. I know you posted the above thread so can you help me out with my questions, they're similar to the ones you answered but slightly different, I really need your help bro!
Do you have any needles for the pen?
FromTheGraveOk I've found a few needles. Can I use them to rectify this mess or is it too late? Can I some how get rid off this vacuum? And do you think I've totally ruined this whole pen?
For future reference should I attach the needle, then mix the pen and then remove the needle and use with my syringe, would this help any with the vacuum?

If you still have air in the pen make sure it is pointing up when you put in the needle. That'll remove the pressure -worked for me.

I would.
I.e. I would stop stressing over it and move on.
But because I'm a curious SOB who refuses to give up I'd toss the pen back into the fridge and see what it looks like in a day or two. maybe add some BAC water to it.

I managed to easily get my 4ius this time and it all went pretty smoothly apart from the actual injection hurting, getting the actual needle to penetrate my skin seems to hurt a lot!

what it sounds like is that when you mixed the pen you twisted the cartridge until the "C" was lined up with the notch without a needle attached... I made the same mistake. when you twist from "B" to "C" instead of venting the air, you (we) compressed it.

If you don't have a pen needle, I'd insert a 25g needle into the cartridge to vent it while mixing. Afterwards, it will not be under pressure.
An alternative would be to NOT turn the cartridge to "C" that should minimize or eliminate any pressure.

IMO that's a 50/50 judgment call.
On the one hand I've read the instructions for some pharma hgh that said if it got foamy to let it sit.
On the other hand, I read that it is delicate and you can damage the hgh if it is shaken or if water is injected straight onto it...
If it were me, and I felt it was still sterile, I'd use it. Try adding a little more BAC water to it and let it sit for a day to see if the foam goes away.
