Fat Gripz - Anyone use these?
ad
Essentially, these things fit around a regular barbell or dumbbell making the grip a lot thicker. Was wondering if anyone has used them and what have been the results. One guy at the gym swears by them for forearm strength and relieving some joint discomfort he experiences. According to their site there are other benefits as well but obviously anything on their own site including testimonials are highly biased. Looking for some real feedback. Their website is here: http://www.fatgripz.com/.

ClassyChassisI've used pre-slit foam pipe insulation for like decades now. Ha ha. You can get a 6' length for a couple bucks and cut off a couple 5" pieces at a time. That's old skool. Probably where these guys got their idea. Never tried to pull a deadlift with that shit though....
beyondimportsI like them. Don't use all the time. Helps relieve joint pain and easier to focus on muscle group. For me anyway
I was hoping someone would mention relieving joint pain as benefit. Do you mean elbows, shoulders or both and to what extent? Thanks for your feedback.
Have been using them for over a year. Excellent investment tbh. Find them awesome for arm work with dumbells and barbells. Bent over rows as well. Allows you to leave the ego at the door and work the weight as its harder with the fat gripz to lift your usual weight
juice12345678I crush those suckers with my grip haha....but I deadlift in the 600's so....they don't hold up at higher weights
Thanks Juice. My deadlift is about half that so that is one problem I don't have to worry about!
I have some. They work pretty good... I use them on back and chest days. I can honestly say my forearms got stronger and a lil thicker but thats kinda abt it other than having a better grip... Still prefer using my bear hands tho.
