Yamaha Vmax
I have stumbled across a 2006 Vmax that only has 7,000 miles on it. Everything about it is immaculate. I drove to a small town yesterday and Rode the Vmax. Once I thought the clutch was slipping but it was actually burning the back tire. It’s a little scary in the gravel because it will slip out from under you. The guy has this huge 6 cylinder Valkyrie him and his wife ride and the Vmax just sits in the garage so he doesn't need it. I have always been a Harley guy but there is something about this motorcycle that really does something for me. It is supposedly the last year for the Gen 1 and is black with factory Red Flames. Someone speak up about this motorcycle, Harley or no Harley This thing definitely has the wow factor and there are a ton of aftermarket parts for them.

AnonThe thing about a Harley is you dont buy it for speed. You can work a Harley all you want and a Jap 4 cylinder will roast it so bad without even thinking about it. Oh I can hear people now , " my buddy has a built S & S motor and his Harley beats sport bikes " Ive heard that before and its pure nonsense. You buy a Harley because you like the ride and the style.
The thing about a sport bike is I find the style to be one that doesnt fit my personal taste, and I just feel unless you intend on riding super agressive then they are silly. They go fast and they do it well, but Ive pushed my luck far enough. Its time for me to cruise a little .
So then theres the V Max , it is fast enough to keep up with many sport bikes, and you'll deff never encounter a twin that will even stay along side you ,so the twist of that throttle still yields pure excitement . The bike is too heavy and clumsy to really get wild with, so it kind of keeps you from doing too many stupid things (hasnt entirely stopped me though). But if you have some sense in your noggin, and you like the rush of speed then this might be a good choice for you. Like I said I love mine.
This would be a good write up for a bike magazine. I completely agree!
Just checked out some pictures of that bike. Not a bad looking bike. There was also a quote I read that I liked " Regarded by many as 'King of the Strip', and many more as 'All Balls and No Brakes' "lol
AnonI read that too.
Why do all the black guys ride the Hayabusa? I have a buddy at work that rides the Busa and they go out and scope the highway out and then ride crazy fast like 180. I have no desire to get anywhere close to 200mph. And having a passenger? I think the max would be a good fit for me. I have seen videos of the "Death Wobble" when you got so fast but I don't think I need to drive that fast.
I live in a good sized city (state capital) and I cant count the poor guys I have seen dead on the interstate. none of them wearing a helmet. I\ll probably invest in a nice helmet too.
I've gotta go with Pank on this one.. I dated a guy for 8 years that lived to ride... First bike we had was a Honda, we put somewhere in the ball park of 18,000 miles on that bike in less than a year.. After that we invested in a custom hard tail.. Beauty of a bike.. but a bitch to ride.. before long we added a Harley soft tail custom.. I loved each bike.. but for me nothing replaced the Honda.. it was the best riding bike to me.. so you need to find what feels good and what you think you will enjoy riding.. I can say this... nothing in the world comes close to being on two wheels on a fall day.. Let us know what you decide..
AnonI originally was looking at a Supercharged 215HP seadoo but feel I would get more use out of a motorcycle. I would like to have a boat but it would take up my whole garage. My neighbor parks his boat in the driveway and people have slithered under the tarp and stole the fish finer etc. and I'm too cheap to rent a boat storage.
I'm single right now and this motorcycle has really gotten under my skin. I'll keep you posted.
Boats are great.. but the bike you will love.. and you can ride all year around here.. you can't always take the boat out when it's cold.. but the bike you can.. some leather and you are set! Women love motorcycles too!!
AnonIts also a big ass production getting a boat in the water. The loading and unloading ramp is good for some Jerry Springer moments. some asshole backed down the ramp, unloaded his boat, then just locks his truck up and goes out to the boat. I'm like "Dude you cant park on the ramp!" He quickly replied it wasn't my fucking lake' and a shit load of us are trying to get out boats in the water! You can get into a fight quicker on the boat ramp than in a bar. I've seen husbands and wives get into it as well. If anyone ever wanted to prove their point that satan was real, they should just say he lives at the boat ramp!
AnonGet the fuck out of here, have you been spying on me ? I love the V max , its what I ride !
AnonI'm starting to think you are actually my brother from another mother. Its a good thing we didn't grow up together, I bet we would have got our ass busted everyday. Well... you would have, because I would have blamed it all on you.
AnonHa, typical big brother.
Hey at least he said BIG! LOL
AnonI'm seriously thinking I'm related to this fucker! And by Big... He means I'm fat!!!! Fucker!!!
AnonWell actually I meant old ;) Come ride with me on fathers day dad ;)
I am a pure Harley man but a buddy mine has a 2008 Vmax and he loves it. I say if you really like the way the bike feels and handles go for it what is more important then that. Bikes to me are like tailored clothes you know when they fit you perfect.
Anonthis bastard fits me perfect. I never dreamed of riding a jap bike but it just lopes like a dragster. the motor is so damn big the 4 gallon gas tank is under the seat. He had gravel at the end of his driveway and I was about to shit my pants because of the torque on the back wheel. I'm sitting here trying to talk myself out of buying it but the "wow" factor is insane. I expected something cookie cutter but there is nothing of the sort with this bike. I cant help but think a lot of engineering went into this bike.
Yeah I have friends that would rather die lol then drive anything but American made. But for me if I like it and it makes me want to ride I would buy it without a second thought.
