I had an epidural not long ago and ive had a good decrease in pain. not 100% but a lot more bearable now. pt/steroid/facet/chiro all did nothing probably more damage than anything. except pt but that waslike stretching class. with some stim at the end and a heating pad..... waste of money. I have a herniated and bulge and degeneration. feel free to pm if u have any questions.

Chiroprator with the traction machine. They will put a belt around your chest and you stomach the machine pulls you apart damn it fells good it always works for me the doctors just gave me pain pills. This decompresses the disks in your back if the problem is coming from there.

My advice don't go to chiropractor. I'm currently going and they have fd Me up

Sounds like a bad one you need a different one look into trying this before surgery if it comes to that but I am saying a actual machine and not them pulling on you. Some doctors use these now also but call it something else.

I am sorry that this has happend to you. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. .. This sounds like an L5 S1 disc protrusions.. I have the same pain in my right side and it feels like a hot knife in the ass cheek. I have delt with this for the last year. I have done everything from stretches to chiropractic. Physical therapy to decompression ect. Everything but surgery. Witch is going to be my next step. But im not doing it till I cant walk... I can tell you the best thing that works great for me is hamstring stretches and a inversion table worked wonders. Hangin for ten to fifteen min a day. A goid mouth gard cause a lot of gritting your teeth and go for it. If you are anything like me. Sorry agian and I hope it gets better for you without all the time money and energy put into getting my back a little better...

Surgery did work for you..! I haven't wanted to do surgery cause they gave me a 70% chance of it not working so I have just been hesitant to go through with it. Thats not very good odds you know so I have just became use to the pain..!

Probably should just get the surgery though..

I would do like Nitti said get my MRI first go from there. a herniated disc sucks I went through that about 12 years ago Only I went under the knife fortunately it turned out okay. 18 staples later and a few months of rehab made a full recovery....... So girl go get an MRI!

You need to spend big bucks on a high quality chair at work! And then even get another nice cushion to go with it!

You need to make sure it's not a disc herniation causing the nerve issues before you go hitting the weights. I have this and it's from lower lumbar disc herniation. You need an MRI and take it from there.

Nope, the purple suits you well. Now you just need a damn Avi

X-rays won't tell the whole story. Trust me, I have been dealing with this a long time. First thing, go get an MRI. And take it from there. If it turns out I'm right, I'll help you out any way I can with advice. I've learned tricks along the way. If its not, you're a lucky girl and you can ease the pain with some exercises

What kind of trick have u learned to deal with this nerve pain? My girl suffers from this same problem.

Nitti's picture

For starters ,.... heat! Hot showers with the water hitting your back/ass. Baths. Heating pads at night or even those thermo patches. Stretching in the morning. As inconvinient as that sounds, it really helps. Keeping the core strong is key. The sciatic nerve is effected usually when the spine is under stress. The pain radiates into one ass cheek or the other and down the leg. I still say the root cause is a disc issue. Keeping the abs, obliques and lumbar muscles strong will take the load off the spine and get rid of the pain.

Get the MRI. Lets see what's going on first.

Agreed, with the numbness; it should be checked out professionally MRI is an option to seek out an answer from!

I had problems with sciatic for a long time to the point where I would be walking crooked, have numbness in hip and down leg, and throbbing pain and stiffness. About 6 or 7 years ago it got really bad to where I could not stand up straight. I never believed in chiropractic and honestly was relegated to the fact I may need some sort of surgery. Finally as a last resort I decided to see a chiro. It was literally a miracle for me!!! According to him I was very out of alignment, hips, lower back, everything. I saw him 3 times a week for maybe a month but then after that it was smooth sailing. Now I dont go regularly but only when I feel myself get a little out of whack. It truly was a game changer for me. I had always heard the myth "once you go to a chiro you will always have to" but thats garbage.
