Steroids to reduce tendon inflammation?
ad
Hi, think this might be a silly question but I'll ask it all the same.
Is there a/group of steroids that can reduce tendon inflammation? I get tennis elbow and I've had cortisol injections in the past for it but the inflammation always comes back.
Also are there steroids that cause this problem?
Many thanks for your help

witekif there were to reduce inflammation they would be prescribed by doctors.
BandoleroJust so everyone knows winstrol does not dry your joints out into pain. Yes winny lowers water retention in muscle tissue giving more of a shredded look. What it does is selectively competes with progestins, for the progestin receptor creating a reduction in a naturally occurring progesterone induced anti-inflammatory response and presenting users with a perception of increased joint discomfort. Nandrolone, a potent progestin, therefor can increase this anti-inflammatory response when using winstrol..... Has nothing to due with "dry joints".
RustyhookerYou dug up a 2 year old forum....why?
A lot of good input but being a P/T deca and NPP will only mask the pain but it will also protect some what due to the increass of water , and winny will dry out the joints, so there is really no AAS that will help with the inflammation, if you eat a fresh pinapple I mean within 3 hrs of cutting it up there is an enzyme bromlyn that is active in the fresh pinapple which helps the tendons were as blood does not flow in them as like muscles, rest, ice, compressions, and elevation also know as rice also a bit costly HGH has helped me in a lot of my injuries just take it easy and listen to your doctor there is no shot cut
SickNick15 is dead on but I have something to add that may be of help. Steroids are only for muscle growth so make sure you take enough time off between cycles to let your tendons and bones catch up. Tendons like bones take along time to recover after being damaged. Add Jello to your diet as it contains gelatin AKA collagen. This is what your body needs to grow and replenish tendons. A tens unit has helped me in the past and anything that worked for Bruce Lee is good enough for me. I keep flosteron on hand but rarely use it as it is only for treatment but I prefer to use preventative measures.
I'll look into tens units, thanks
I too have inflamation in the elbow area due to tennis elbow. Although my pain came from pitching for my college baseball team. I would agree with bamboo on the tens unit (or more commonly referred to as a "stim machine"). Although the elbow is a tough area for the stim machine due to the pain usually being at the very tip of the elbow, it was still a very effective method for me. especially if you ice it for 15minutes while stimming. Another method you can use is to get weekly ultra-sounds laser therapy on your elbow. the laser penetrates the tissues and fibers and breaks up all the built up shit in your elbow. both methods did wonders for my problem... hope some of this info is helpfull
smallguyI wonder if Zack Khan has these pains
Get yourself an arthritic dog and get a script for some adequan.
Never heard of that. What's it do?
It is actually made for horses who do competitions and such to keep them going longer. It is an IM compound for joint care and muscles, tendors, fibers, and such.
Sometime I feel like a nackered horse. This could help;)
Had the same problem for years and switched my workouts to push or pull only.
If I mix a push pull workout it's straight back.
Good to know. I found I got it if I had an arms only day (instead of chest/tris etc). Flared right up after that.
Yup I went from not being able to train at all to a fully functioning Gym Rat within a few weeks of changing my routine.
I now split workouts into push days and pull days, never looked back. If I mess around in the gym and throw in a couple of pulls on a push day it flares back up within a few minutes!!
Honestly brother, you are kind of fucked. There is truly not much you can do, but I do have a few suggestions. I have been battling really bad wrist, elbow, and other joint pain for a while now from my bones being broken so many times. Here are a few tidbits of info:
.Deca (nandralone decanoate is the best NPP is second best in terms of ester):
Deca helps to lube joints, and minor decreasing of inflammation, makes it a little more comfortable when lifting heavy weights.
.MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane):
MSM is a wonderful compound for joint/tendon/bone pain, although MSM is not exactly proven or studied yet to improve pain in these areas, it has been a secret of bodybuilders and others for reducing inflammation and joint pain for a long time. You can get it in lotions, liquid, gel, and powder.
Gels (Deca-gel, Tren-gel, Eq-gel, etc.):
Although these don't exactly cure the problem, they seem to keep away the pain during cycle. I am not saying this is the best idea because all it truly does is mask the pain and make it go away, while the whole while your problem is just getting worse for when you come off cycle. This is what I use to mask my wrist pain, and there are sources on here that carry it
Advil pre-workout:
This always helps a bit just to keep the inflammation and pain down a bit
Stop working out for a few weeks:
This is something i will never do, but of course if it gets bad enough, it is all you can do. It took me six months of not one day of working out to recover from an injury I had one time and let me tell you, it fuckin sucked, but it completely healed. It's amazing how well our bodies can heal when we let them go through the healing process without injuring it more by lifting.
Glucosamine:
This helps to stimulate cartilage production and inhibits the breakdown of cartilage which is what cause tendonitis, wrist/joint pain, and so on.
Chondroitin:
Helps cartilage repair, and helps to slow the process of osteoarthritis
Hyaluronic Acid:
This can help to lubricate, oil, and nourish your joints and can help with bone and muscle pain.
These are a few trade secrets that I use, and I do know more but it would take forever to type them all. If you have any more questions on which ones to use, when, and how, just pm me and I'll be happy to help you. These should all help either by themselves or in conjunction with one or another. Good luck man.
Thanks for sharing advice even though its not for me but learned
wouldnt the deca gel works the same as deca (without the ester).
Loads of info! A really complete answer. Thank you for taking the time. The only one on there I take regularly is glocosamine.
I have taken 10 days off the gym and with massage the symptoms have subsided. I think the extra strength gear gives you caused me to strain the tendon. If in doubt, rest. Always easier said than done with us lot.:)
Big fan of deca/npp but IME compounds merely mask the underlying issue
Well that sure as hell bursted my bubble, i thought deca was going to fix it. should have known it was too good to be true.
cdaddy7Excellent point H
cdaddy7Be aware that Equipoise has come onto the scene in having lubrication properties for joints...Understand that tendons is a different story....When ur muscle growth accelerates remember that your tendons and ligaments do not grow as quickly at all bc they are not vascualarized like muscle tissue and have very low blood supplied to them...When u are using anabolic steroids, your anabolic hormone levels raise and your catabolic hormones decrease which is your cortisol levels, which is ur anti-inflammatory hormone...It often gets a bad rap but without it in a normal level u lose the anti-inflammatory response and hence tendonitis becomes prominent
Just reading over this again coz its come back:( This is exactly what I think has happened to me. On cycle I don't have enough natural anti inflammatory cortisol and that's when I get it. Plus I'm lifting heavier. Really don't think I can bring myself to take 6 weeks off. Think ill go mad!
Iv shoulder impingment best part of a year now ,iv had phisio with 4 weeks off ( hell) when it first appeared ,and it always comes back , iv trained around it when bad and some shoulder exercises when its been good but limited movements i know what inflames it :/ im using deca now and i still feel it ,its not a cure ,so im gonna take dec and jan off 8 weeks ,fuckin killer see if it goes but if its calcium deposit il prob need op :/ , but hopefully time off traning and lenghty pct will help in long run ,positive thinkin ,best of luck bro
I used to get that too. I found switching from bar to dumbbell bench seemed to sort it out. Also inclined flies agrivated it. Really don't want to take time off but I'm going to have to. I'm going to concentrate on legs abs and cv work for a couple of months.
Deca for sure ,fix the tendons!!
I always thought dbol gave me some extra comfort in my elbows and knees..seems to add alittle water around the joints..this is only my opinion though..
CleyonHGH? I've heard that HGH helps a lot with joint health. I know it takes a long time to kick in (4-6 months), but I've been looking at using it for my reacuring joint issues.
naguib123winny causes tendonitis if ur lifting heavy.. i heard npp/deca helps but once u stop it comes back. TB500 helps but not by that much. Hgh would help if the case is too sever but would take up a long time to start working. best thing to do is to call your losses and just rest or do cardio in preparation of a bulking cycle once it heals. healing time takes any where between 6 weeks to 7 months. i would just rest, multi vitamins, fish oil, msm, i got this case right now.
AnonWinny doesn't cause tendonitis... winstrol removes ALL the estrogen from joints in essence drying them out .. this happens to cause quite a few people joint pain
naguib123it makes tendons bigger but brittle, weaker, and more prone to injury.
http://www.synthetek.com/good-read-about-tendons-by-weight77/
i was trying to figure out how i got my tendonitis, since i wasnt overtraining and every where i read was that winstrol cause tendons to be weaker
Well that sucks but your advise doesn't. I know i should just rest it but it is hard staying out of the gym:( Thanks though
no problem, hope it helps
Thanks for the advice. That NO was interesting.
Don't know about any aas compounds but checks out this article nitric oxide for healing tendons, looks like the patches are relatively cheap also... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2658939/
I have the same problem..it has got to the point I cant hardly use dumbells for chest workouts it hurts to bad to get the weight in position even with kicking my knees up....if I where you I would start using more machines until it improves ...also build the tendon up using a rubber band on your fingers just open and close your hand using the rubber band as resistance..it has helped me a lot.
Drying steroids like Winny get joint complaints. Low estro squeaky joints. Npp or deca adds joint lube but unsure about lowering inflamation. Have you tried those forearm wraps that are for tennis elbow?
I have but I didn't find it too effective. Hate wearing that sort of thing... Cheers
