Turned Down a Job Today

ad

I have a full time job that is contractual and right now we satisfied our contract way early, but I still get paid for the whole contract. Sounds better than it actually is trust me. Anyway, I power wash and stain decks on the side for pretty nice $ in all honesty. I consider this to be my mad $, which is currently depleted w/ the help of the almighty perses. I go to this house to pressure wash this big two story deck. I told them over the phone I would pressure wash it, then we see what we have when I get done and I will shoot them a price for staining and sealing. This deck was covered in scaley green algae took forever to pressure wash. Now for the reason I turn the job down.
I walk through the back yard. there must be 12 plaques, signs, stepping stone, all have Lutheran crap on them sayings about God all that stuff. Then I have to take everything off both decks everything these people own says God this and that or has Lutheran fish on it. I go inside the place is decorated to the hilt w/ crosses and Jesus and God. I do believe in God, but it's been my experience that I dont like people that are like this. All of them I have met are fake, and for the most part two-faced assholes, that try to come up w/ some reason, something I did wrong that they dont have to pay their bill or will only pay part of it. These people really creeped me out though. They acted super excited to see me "hello" really loud, "how are you so nice to meet you" I wanted to roll my eyes and leave right then. But I did what I said I would got my $, then told them I wasnt interested in doing work on their deck I didnt think I'd be able to make them happy. "What do you mean" just like I said you folks have a nice day. They just looked at my tattooed ass like I was the devil. I thought to myself, Yep, I was right!!! What would you do?

I got the fast cash part. The rest waas a big deal. After I blasted the algae scale off there the deck needed in my opinion 3 coats of stain then sealed. It was 2 story big staircase, and spindle handrail... pain in the ass job very time consuming. I would've had probably a week in it maybe more? It had been stained before, so it's splotchy now. I posted only cause I was thinkn like you on that one, maybe I did the wrong thing. But I got a phone call earlier and I have a different one tomorrow. Made me feel as if I did the right thing. I wasnt a jerk to them, I did my job, collected, and basically said I'm not interested in the rest of it?
