I used a machine and I think I liked it

ad

Ive allways hated machines and avoided them like plague. I dont like the range of motion most of them lock you into and Ive got a 6'4'' wing span (longer than I am tall)so the grips normally dont extend quite as far out as Id like, so im pulling with half my freakin hand hanging off. Well monday was chest day and instead of doing dumbell flyes I actually used the fly machine on a whim. I LOVED IT!!! For real, its the only machine I feel is better than free weights. When doing dumbell flyes you dont get any real resistance during the top half of the motion but on the fly machine you get resistance throughout the entire range. I could feel it a lot more and got a better pump than otherwise. Im hooked, still wont use machines for anything else but for flyes thats where its at. Whats your favorite machine?

these days the whole free weights vs machines debate is pretty blurred. MAchines these days are getting a lot better, and are great for targeting specific muscles. My gym just got a new lat pulldown machine with dual stacks, and 2 cables attached to the bar instead of one. Smooth as glass.

Old school nautilus pull over machine for lats. Best machine ever besides led machines such as quad extensions

I havent seen nautilus in a looong time bro, you're showing your age lol

My gym back home is an old school gym that way built in the 80's. Their old nautilus presses are the shit. I get crazy pumps from them.

I agree I normally do cables but when I do machine flies I get and insane chest pump

Yea Ive tried cables and it is better than dumbell flyes but it feels funny to me for some reason. Awkward.

Yeah some thing with shoulder flies, I get no resistance at the starting position but when cables or a machine there is always resistance

Yea the same machine does rear delts. I think Ill give it a try Friday (sjoulder day) cause rear delts are hard for me to hit but I think Ill get as good a workout as I did for chest.

fly machines aren't to bad at the end of my chest day i'll normally hit them for a few burnout sets

Thats how I went at it. Lost count of how many sets I did, just kept going till failure. Felt great!
