was there ever a professional who WASNT on juice?

ad

I know that sounds like a crazy question but was there ever a professional bodybuilder who wasnt juicing? Of course Im not stupid enough to think you can look like Dorian Yates, Coleman, or Lou without a little help but what about some of the smaller guys? For instance, Frank Zane had a phenominal physique but he was only 5'9'' 180lbs when he beat Arnold. Did Zane necessarily have to juice to obtain his level of conditioning even though he wasnt huge? Even "early" pics of Oliva dont look like anything good genetics, diet, and weights couldnt achieve in my opinion. I remember back in the mid 90's when Dexter Jackson was only competing at like 180 but looked amazing all year long, never had to drop 20lbs for a contest. I always wondered is that possible without juice or is EVERYBODY on something, without exception, no matter how large or small?

The human body can only do soooo much on its own... if you look at Pro BB's in the (early) 50's and NONE of them have the look, size or def as BB's today... Were THEY not working as hard on their physiques?? I think not.... Steroids only became commercially avail around 1958 so why wouldn't the Pro's do all they could to gain advantages in a highly competitive field

Not even close. And you can look at any sport and clearly see that athletes of the past would never stand a chance today.
Arnold's body at it best wouldn't win Mr. California today.

Arnold admits to using steroids, which is blatently obvious he does. Admits he did it when it was legal, but reckons he ONLY used Dianabol when he was cutting to make sure he didn't lose any muscle, and didn't use it to build muscle. Made me laugh when he said that.

lol, na way IN HELL he only used Dbol, laughable is right

OdyOdd's picture

Lol he lied. Sure he loved his dbol but he used a lot of different aas. Even experimented with Cadavar HGH

UHH..Thats scary...

Even in the 50s they were using. Just no where near the amount they use today.

Steroids were developed and first tested in 1937; the first non-medical use of steroids were Olympic athletes in 1954.
Following that timeline I would think that Hollywood’s comment about availability is fairly accurate.
True, maybe a handful of elite BB’ers were using. But I would guess most were not.

True....Bodybuilders were considered idiots and freaks back then, so I'm certain they were'nt privlidged with inside supply sources.

More then you think mate.

Maybe---but it would have only been testosterone and D-bol which was discovered in the mid-50's and things just got better from there.
Here is a history of steroid development...

thx for the link

OdyOdd's picture

It was mostly test and dbol. Yes

7gothic's picture

One thing is for certain, Test and D-bol have built a lot of great bodies. If guys would learn to keep things simple, they would see the benefits of these two great compounds.

NEWSFLASH-----There are very few "natural" bodybuilders who don't use steroids on some level as well, which just goes to pove the old saying----"If you can't keep steroids out of sports, then steroids were meant to be in sports".
There are two types of competitive bodybuilders.....those who juice.....and those who lie.
Steroids are here to stay, just like drugs, terrorism, inflation, and crime.

scootloko's picture

Id forgotten even so called natural bodybuilders use test too these days. Point made, if naturals use there's no way ANY IFBB Pro doesnt.

OdyOdd's picture

"There are two types of competitive bodybuilders.....those who juice.....and those who lie." this x fucking 100000000.

OdyOdd's picture

No. No steroids=no professionally body building

The Humungous's picture

Not that I can think of. I think everybody was on something even if the dosages varied.

Jeff Willets also makws that claim. DO I believe it? I dont know I suppose its possible, I guess there is also still a chance Hitler will come back from the grave and take over the World... Just sayin of course

OdyOdd's picture

LOL they were both juiced to the gills dude
