+ 7 what about our kidney's

ad

We hear a lot about liver health and almost everyone is on or should be on some kind of liver support if they run gear. I personally take Liv52, milk thistle, primrose oil, and alpha lopoic acid for liver health and know many others use the same supps from the many posts Ive seen on the subject, but I never hear much about how we should take care of our kidneys.

The kidneys serve an essential regulatory role in our body and gear does effect this organ just as much as your liver if not more. Unlike your liver your kidney's dont have the remarkable capacity to regenerate themselves. Within a week after partial hepatectomy, which basically entails surgical removal of two-thirds of the liver, liver mass is basically back to what it was prior to surgery. Your kidneys cant do this, once they are destroyed its over, no coming back, transplant time!!! So obviously if we take such good care of our livers which can actually regenerate we should be taking even better care of our kidneys which cant right.

As said before your kidneys serve a regulatory role. They filter the blood, so every toxic chemical that goes through your liver goes through your kidneys also and its your kidneys job to remove these wastes. Kidneys regulate blood pressure too, so that high BP some of you get while on cycle is surely a sign of a kidney problem. They are also responsible for reabsorbtion of water, glucose, and amino acids and for regulation of electrolytes but cant do this job efficiently if we dont protect them from the toxic effects of the compounds we use.

If you're like me the only kidney supp you use is massive amounts of H20 but this cycle I will be changing that practice and I hope you do also. Here are a few products Ive looked up and found to be beneficial for kidney health:

-Aloe Vera Juice-Hated it when grandma forced me to drink it as a youngin but she was right, its good for you. Aloe is cleansing to the entire body and kidneys love it. Aloe provides noteworthy levels of citrate which binds to calcium preventing it from binding together to form stones. Aloe is also anti-inflamitory, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial, a great supp for overall kidney health.

-B6-Helps to lower urinary oxilate, the main ingredient of some stones

-Lemon Juice- A natural antiseptic useful to kidneys because it prevents bacteria from building up in the kidneys and causeing infections. Mixed with aloe it increases citrate even more than aloe alone.

-Organic Apple Cider Vinegar-although an acid it keeps the body in a slightly alkaline state and neutralizes acids in the digestive process. This applies to kidneys because when the urine is alkaline they are protected from damage formed by uric acid.

L-Carnitine-helps the body to convert fat in the liver AND kidneys into energy. Low levels of carnitine have been linked to kidney disfunction.

The above are the supps I plan on using next cycle but there are many more supps that support liver health such as parsely, horsetail, uva ursi, and magnesium. Experiment and see what works for you, your kidneys wont stay healthy from water alone.

Good advice, I mainly just make sure I drink plenty of water and take cranberry extract pills along with my liver supplements. I'll try some of these other ideas.

Thumbs up. My kidneys hurt on cycle if i don't drink enough water. I'll have to try that aloe vera juice.

If you really want to try the aloe vera juice the concoction I'll be drinking starting monday is the juice of one squeezed lemon, an ounce of aloe vera juice, 6 ounces of bottled water and a teaspoon of honey for taste. the lemon juice acts in synergy with the aloe vera juice Ive read.

Yea i have been thinking about this myself and making a post like yours.thumbs up from me this is some good tips added to my favs as i think this will become quite a hot thread.i have been looking into lower back pumps on var and a lot of my research seems to say its not pumps but kidney swelling not good at all still got more research to do tho.

Lower back pumps are what originally got me looking into this actually. It was one of my professors who told me "you know that may be your kidneys, drink more water". Started drinking more water and sure enough the feeling dissipated in a very short time. That got me to thinking what else should I do because I swear the first 30yrs of my life i may have drank 1gal of water in a whole years time. Just soft drinks, kool aid, juice, and tea. Im sure my kidneys are wrecked from all that so Im trying to do something now before its too late. Plenty of water and NOTHING unatural, carbonated, with corn syrup, or preservatives. Just water, home brewed iced tea and lemonade, and real 100% juices for me these days.

I have had a few mates come along talking of lower back pumps of adrol, dbol and it just made me think the var lower back pump must be kidney problems.i agree 100% with you all i drink is lots of water, green tea with no sugar, cranberry juice and semi skimmed milk.i did the same most of my life just drinking fizzy shite it gave me super bad heart palps doc said it was all the energy drinks and fizzy shit i was having and that i need to cut it out within a month of this palps had stopped and have not had a probblem with then since then. am 22 next month so i think i have clicked onto it quite earlie before any damage is done am going to get my larl lad doing this to start him off earlie will not cut all the fizzy drinks out cnt be to boring but will teach him about health at a earlie age.
