ad

OK I can't figure why my bi's are being so damn stubborn. My arms are thic but, I can not get the goose egg look I want. I change my routine weekley. I do alot of barbell curls, preacher curls, one arm curls, cable excersises and whatever else comes to mind! I normally do sets of 8 or 12's and go as heavy as I can without losin good form. So with that bein said whats up?? HELP

Here's what I do. You have to do hammer curls! Do em straight in front of you and do them cross shoulder. Then another thing I do on all my curls is go til failure pause like 7-10 seconds and do as much as you can again, pause again do this like 5 times then rest a couple minutes and do it again and again I call these the failure reps (this is when your putting shock on your muscle and making it go). And one more thing is pull ups and lat pull down work to get a peak too. So that's it for me do hammer curls, failure reps, pull ups and lat pull downs

OVERTRAINING is the worst enemy of the bodybuilder. Sometimes more is less and less is more.

Thanks for the points bro. Ive seen people train everything five days a week at my local gym. chest, biceps, triceps, legs, back, shoulders, abs all in one work out, every work out 7 days a week and if they dont burn thier selves out in a month or two they never get any bigger. Then they wonder why they wont grow? Sometimes it is good to take some time off for a total recovery. If ive been working out continuisly five days a week for months or even a year at a time I sometimes like to take a week off for a toatal recovery. Your rite Abnormal, it helps me grow! Getting big takes place outside the gym too.

I 100% agree. Some old time BB's had huge arms but did very little (if any) direct arm work. What can you bench/chin? When you're benching 400 and can chin (underhand) with 50+ pounds added you'll have big old arms (subject to your genetics that is). Train the basics, eat and rest and forget the fancy routines and you'll grow bigger arms.

my max bennch is 265, and can chin w at most a 25 plate added.

if you don't give em time to recover (2 days minimum) then they will never grow. You just keep breaking down muscles that are already broken down. Muscles grow when they rebuild because they repair in a way so that they can try to overcome the forces being put upon them next time. Muscles take time to grow. I personally split may days up just for this. I work out no longer than 1 hr and make evry one count. I change it up a bit constantly for muscle confusion and eat well with plenty of h2o.
