+ 3 Too much aerobics

ad

some experts feel that aerobic activity in general is counterproductive to maintaining the most muscle mass and the best amount for bodybuilders to do is none. But competitors don't believe this, and do cardio to help them lose body fat, so the question is how they should go about it. Too much aerobics also encourages the body to metabolize lean body mass to create energy. The body can actually cannibalize muscle tissue, especially white fiber "power" muscle in order to fuel aerobic exercise. Finally there is the problem of systemic fatigue. A lot of aerobic exercise makes you tired, you don't have the energy to do hard and heavy workouts. you may not feel fatigued, but the physical systems which allow for recuperation and replenishment of both muscle and energy can't keep up when you do to much cardiovascular training. when it comes to cardio for pre-contest dieting, you have to be much more precise and careful to make it work for and not against you. For example I recommend that cardio should be:
1 done no more than 45-60 min. a day (not necessarily in one session aerobics in two or more sessions works great) 4 or 5 times a week. Plan your diet carefully so no more that this is necessary.
2 not done immediately before working out with weights. That will just fatigue you and cut down on the intensity of your work outs.
3 not done immediately after a work out . your body is depleted at this point and needs to rest and recover, at least for a short time although doing your aerobics at another time entirely is a good idea. In fact I recommend taking in some glycogen replacement drink (carb drink) after your gym workout and before you do any cardio training.
another short post. enjoy.

plain and simple (daddy is puttin his foot down) you should be doing cardio-vascular exercise and on average at least once per every three days as the aerobic threshold (point at which the body starts to decline in performance) is 72 hours. It is complete non-sense to believe you are burning up muscle tissue, especially if you are on cycle for Christ sake. * keep in mind F.I.T.T.E. variables do matter * I'm not going to get into detail this can easily be researched and there are countless studies to support this (as well as real experience from athletes ranging from different sports and even bodybuilders, phil health runs, outside!). talking about support, the cardio-vascular system is the first system and it is the last system, it is the support system of your muscular system. all fact. also as a side note, it's annoying to hear about what people think they're body fat is without actually getting it measured.. in fact I did a bod pod last night, as well as got my cholesterol and BP measured.. use facts, not guesses.. you wouldn't guess your cholesterol or E2 would you? no, your ass better be getting bloods.. be responsible right.. it's because of ignorance that gear is illegal and tobacco isn't.. lets not add to the media hype. wow not sure where I was going with all that, but it's time to eat, maybe low blood sugar lol.. it is low carb day, excuse me if I stepped all over your face.

you'er absolutely correct and on cycle I do cardio because i'm not worried about losing muscle. I guess I should have made it more clear. i do cardio on cycle because of bp, and cholesterol. but when I'm not I don't as much cardio as I should because of my fast metabolism and the high volume training I do. I also eat clean as hell on cycle to not add to the rise in cholesterol and bp. I have not been holding hardly any water (can still see muscle separation in back and legs) and I contribute that to my extremely clean diet. and will be getting labs done in the next few weeks. don't worry about it. I understand low carb days , will be there in two days.lol

Good info here.

I feel if your under 10% BF u don't need cardio. But others will disagree. It's all about what u eat, what you put into your body that determines how much fat u have. Unless u have a glandular issue where in that case you need medication to control it. I personally hate cardio and don't do it at all, but I'm 6.5% BF so I don't need to. I know a lot of guys in my gym who are 7-10% BF that don't do cardio at all and they are huge and shredded. Me, well I'm getting there lol

I feel ya man. I hate cardio to. i have a fast metabolism so I can go a few months without cardio but after so many surplus calories anybody would have to do some sort of aerobic training. so i'll go 3 months with no cardio and then do 1 month to bring the fat down. I try to keep my abs visible for the most part.lol
