+ 7 Burnout

ad

Because I have this problems since 2-3 months I thought I write a short topic about burnouts, as my doctor said nearly every 2nd person has burnout symptoms because we live in a very stressful society, here a few examples which problems u can have during a burnout:

  • aggression
  • insomnia
  • lethargy
  • headache
  • stomach issues
  • concentration problems
  • no motivations
  • emotional fluctuations
  • no appetite
  • overly thirsty
  • high blood preassure
  • panic attacks

Alright, now the most important part you've to do if you feel any of this problems is to clarify if it's really a burnout or if you have another issue with your healthcare. A burnout includes almost always a few symptoms of the above mentioned. Its relatively unlikely that you have only one or two symptoms if u have a burnout. So your first thing u should do is a general health check at your doc. , he can assess if its a burnout or not.

If he thinks you've a burnout or you think it cause you're absolutely unfocused at your work (for example) go and find a professional psychotherapist and I assure u he can help u , if you think he's not really interested in your problem or wants to prescribe u only drugs/medication without enough knowledge about your problem(s) , go to another one where u feel fine.

I personally did following:

  • I reduced my meals
  • only 2 - 3 workouts per week
  • medidation (sometimes it helps u to stay calm if you take little naps or search a silent place where you can calm down)
  • LESS CELL PHONE addiction (use it only if you REALLY need it or like to use it)
  • no TV before bed (helped me a lot, my sleep is much better now)
  • Spend more time with your kids and family (helps you a lot against stress and let u forget the stressful every day work)
  • no more overtime at work
  • take you 2-3 wks off from work if your budget allows it

Last but not least , to solve the problem you MUST find the reason, in my situation it was the work. ( about 60hr/week + family is too much). Now I spoke with my boss and since August I work "only" 35-45hrs per week and I start to feeling better.

Stay healthy guys!

I think this was a very important subject, and a serious thought for everyone to take time to think about if ever feeling over stressed and burnt out... Because not only can it affect muscle growth, but your overall health... Everybody has their problems everybody should take time to deal with them in a healthy way. If there's anybody out there that needs someone to talk to feel free to send me a message, and honestly if I can help I will!! I mean isn't that why we're here.

I am in this situation now. Working 60 hours a week with a new baby. Haven’t worked out in three weeks. Overtime ends in two weeks though. And it’s really hot where I work. Once a year I stop lifting for two to three weeks anyway and let my body rest.

Very good read. There are lot of important things that we ignore in our daily lives and routine.

Super advice. Very common but very important problems highlighted.

Excellent advice bro++, especially the part about focusing more on your self and family and focusing less on work . We were not put on this earth to work our lives away, or to zone our focus on screens 12 hours a day i.e. cell phones , computers and tv's.

Yes 60 hours were horrible , I'm not sure if I will work so much again...maybe when our daughter is a older!

But...family first! Smile

why only 2-3 workouts in week? more makes you burnout?

I think the guys overwhelmed.
Baby’s are easy but once there between two and seven it’s constant attention seeking.
Kids in that age group don’t know the difference between positive and negative attention.
You’ll find out soon...
Then you throw in the stress from work and a nagging wife, guilt from missed meals and workouts. It sucks
Everyone goes through it.

It was me who negged, thought he means I'm lazy and it's only an excuse!

Sorry sunancaxa!

yes cause training costs time, so I've less time for other (more important) things in life without any stress, and only cause I workout 2-3 times per week it doesn't mean that I loose any gains.

Sam I Am's picture

I’ve made better gains since I retired.
I still work 45 hours a week but it’s 5 minutes from my house vs 1.5 hours.
Laid back and I’ve got a fridge.
I train before work and when I get home I just hangout, eat and watch Riverdale...
That redhead girl is hot. : )

Great that you feel better now too!

Yes I drive also only 30 minutes to my work and the best part is that the whole way is a really awesome country road with forests on both sides Smile

haha, enjoy riverdale brother!

We can watch riverdale togeather i think the black haired girl is super hot.

I’m up to chapter 7. Veronica is hot.
I’ve been snacking on Fiber 1 brownies and pork rinds while I watch it.
Low carb things not working I’m back up to 247.
Guess I shouldn’t eat the whole bag and box nightly.
Pork rinds are the only pork I eat. I hate pigs.
May post a pic later anyway. Strengths good.

What sucks is that is symptoms of everything. Balance is key and meditation is a awesome way to find it. I utube almost every night before bed a meditation. I didn't think it would help but after a few weeks I could tell a difference with my attitude and sleep.

Yeah I'm a believer now. Based from my experience it works if I stay at it. Good read though. It makes you think and prioritize. Hats off to ya.
