Get lean an incorporate light and moderate weight sets of compound movements involving chest and delts, followed by simple movements targeting the deltoid a individually.
The key is to get lean. Because muscle tissues is a metabolic tissue, you'll want to involve as much tissue as possible during activity to burn the most amount of calories as possible. That's where your compound movements come into play.
By targeting slow twitch and intermediate fibers, you're using the motor units that have the greatest potential for burning calories over the shortest timeframe. Follow this stimulation with the appropriate nutrition, and you'll get that leaner physique quicker.
Finally, following up with simple movements of the deltoids a does two things: it let's you focus on the entire shoulder to give symmetry, rather than focusing on one deltoid and letting the other lag more than necessary, and it lets place some emphasis on the area(s) that you're wanting to develop.
Many ways to tailor this but I like to keep it simple. Chest exercises use the pectorals as prime movers and the secondary muscles are the anterior (frontal) delts and triceps. So, I generally work those on chest day. To emphasize the upper chest and delts, I start with a couple sets of flat bench, followed by a few sets of incline, then delt raises, then triceps. I generally follow this but tweak the number of sets, reps, and weights based on the goal.
Next day, would be back day. Prime movers for most back exercises are the lats and secondary are rear delts, and biceps (Other muscles incorporate depending on the movement). So, I'll work back, side & rear delts, and bi's on this day.
These days are light weight on the delts bc I also have a shoulder day where I hit them harder.
