Easy Make Protein Bars.

ad

Hi All.

I thought I'd pass on this VERY simple recipe for Easy Make Protein Bars. And take it from a Mate, if I call them EASY to make, with my culinary skills being VERY limited as they are, you're gonna wonder why the recipe hasn't been shared earlier.

Here it is:

2 Cups Of Oats ( NOTE: Do NOT use the instant type. They soak up the recipes liquid and moisture from the fridge and makes them soggy after they've set).
1/2 Cup of Milk (Skimmed or Non-Fat).
2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup or Honey.
120g of Protein Powder (Or about 4 scoops from the tubs measuring cup to make it easier to measure out).
1/2 Cup of Raisins (Optional)
1/4 Cup of Nuts (Optional)

You will also need some grease proof paper and a flat tray to lay the mixture on so it can cool in the fridge.

Preparation Method:

  1. Mix the Oats, Raisins, Nuts and Protein Powders together in a bowl to create a dry mix. (Grab a mixing bowl. Chuck the raisins and nuts into the protein powder and oats and mix them all together).
  2. Pour in the milk a little at a time to help bind the dry mixture together. (Pour the milk into the mix at about a third of a measure at a time so you don't make a mess and get kicked by the Mrs).
  3. Add the Maple Syrup or Honey into the mixture and combine together well. (WITH CLEAN HANDS, add the Maple Syrup or Honey into the mixture and bind it together until you can't see any of the syrup/honey left)
  4. Lay a sheet of grease proof paper on a tray. (If you don't understand that bit, well....)
  5. Spread the mixture onto the grease proof paper, compact the mixture down into a flat square like base. (When spreading the mixture onto the paper you'll want to flatten it down so it makes about an inch thick base)
  6. Place tray into fridge and cool for approx. 2 hours to allow the mixture to bind together. (Well that's easy enough. PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE, until the mixture feels like a protein bar, squidgy but firm, to the touch).
  7. Remove from fridge and cut into 6 bars and enjoy. (Take the tray out of the fridge and cut the mixture into pieces big enough for you to munch on).

Nutritional Values: (Each bar when mixture is cut into 6 equal lengths. Approx).

And there you have it. Easy Make Protein Bars. An AWESOME little snack you can enjoy between meals or eaten along with a protein shake.

Hope you enjoy.

How big is your cup

A CUP is a measurement over here in the US so I have to turn to our US Mates to help me out on that.

Being from the UK myself we go by LBS and OUNCES, so I'm not 100% sure in how to convert it over.

Ye its bloody annoying, i just tried to convert it over and it only turns into pints/litres/gallons etc instead of grams and ounces... So annoying...
