Egg Muffin omelettes.. They are just eggs baked in a muffin tray customized with whatever meats and veggies I decided to put in them. I use them for quick grab-n-go meal, but also find myself using them for between meal snacks. For instance a egg, bacon, with cheese would be about 150cals, 11g protein /11g fat/ few carbs...

Eggs, vegatables, fruits, yogurt contain low carbs ..you can eat it as breakfast

Pork rinds are pretty damn good for having zero carbs and some protein.

How many calories does that thin sliced have? I have the regular slices and the calories on that are ridiculous, like 120. I eat half sandwiches these days.

One thing I learned on a Keto diet was once I got into Ketosis and with 3 to 5 liters of water a day I started peeing like a fucking race horse. I began flushing out all of my electrolytes and my sodium levels tanked. I began supplementing sodium via olives and drinking the juice. I also had to use chicken and beef bouillon. So for anyone looking for low carb snacks due to being on a Keto diet olives make great snacks while putting some sodium back into you system.
Working out with low sodium can result in fainting trust me I learned the hard way. Luckily I caught myself but I learned to add in sodium during that diet. Just a quick tip

100%.

I pound water but always mix 1/4 + tsp of celtic sea salt into it and upped my magnesium. Until I did, felt faint, had heart palpitations etc.

Smart man! Pickles do the job too.

Asparagus Spears wrapped in bacon or prosciutto are bomb af. Roasted or grilled zucchini is another easy prep snack.
Another little trick I learned on a strict diet last year was food prep is mission critical. I would prep out salads in mason jars. I’d layer lettuce bell peppers cucumber tomato and 4-6oz of either chopped tuna chicken or salmon. I use Walden Farms dressing that’s carb free fat free calorie free. It would average out to around 3-400 cal and I always got full on it.

Another trick is to always load up on iceberg lettuce or other leafy green types. They’re basically calorie free and with a little lemon or the Walden farms dressing.

You sir are all over my wheelhouse. Don't see too many bodybuilders with the salad in a jar trick but as you state they are fantastic. Never skimp the leafy dark greens and prep prep prep.

I am a fan of simple self prepared foods. Having these items prepped an on hand always made life easier.

I will snack on fresh veggies. Radish, baby turnip, carrots, broccoli , string beans are all great go tos. Luckily I love these items fresh with nothing added aside from a quality salt product such as Himalayan Sea Salt.

Protein snacks being home made jerky & hardboiled / pickled eggs are great to always have on hand. Can never go wrong with roasted nuts and products such as all natural almond butter. If someone is not scared of dairy products cottage cheese is an excellent snacking item. Not to be overlooked also is the classic glass or two of nonfat milk

Also, never underestimate fermented foods. We all need better gut health so why not stick the natural way. Fermented foods have been in existence for thousands of years and their health benefits should not be understated. Homemade natural fermented sauerkraut, Kimchi , & fermented pickles & peppers are my go tos. Snacking on these items always leaves me feeling light & energized.

Can never go wrong with do it yourself and keep it simple stupid.

This recipe isn’t bad at all for keto tortillas
https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a25647730/keto-tortilla-recipe/

Roasted chicken breast w/queso fresco or feta with cucumber chunks, chopped cherry tomatoes and a cilantro evoo drizzle. Make a wrap or two and you’ll be full.

For drinks I always have crystal light around especially when putting down 1.5 gallons or more. Torani sugar free syrups go a long way as well especially with my morning coffee.

You can find some minimal sugar lean jerky. That was the only snack I allowed myself the last 6 weeks of prep a few times a week and even felt guilty about that lol.

Typically I’ll bake low protein snacks in bulk and freeze them. Lots of recipes out there. Pea protein base, PB banana +/- oat Muffins. Fantastic. PM for recipes if interested

Tuna and Greek yougurt, can’t believe that’s what I eat for snacks. I’m gonna follow this thread for some better ideas.

Very difficult to get a good low carb protein bar. used to use cytogenics 2:1 the were very good protein very low carb. Too bad not available anymore. Try a low calorie shake. or rice cakes with a protein drink. that choice sucks but it is what it is!

PPGfreak's picture

Fat free Greek yogurt with added protein powder

GrowMore's picture

Sugar free jelly is my number 1.
36 caloires per packet (huge)
Almost 7g of protein per packet
Many flavours
Easy to carry around
You can mold jelly into a shape of an animal

Aldi also do a salted caramel, low calorie, high protein ice cream. 320 caloires for a whole pot and it tastes amazing. I’ve been avoiding this right now but that double teamed with a huge cookie/brownie/cake from Asda with heavy whipping cream is on my ‘after ebc menu’.. with a cup of tea with actual milk in.

What are yours Sam?

A “snack” snack? I usually hate anything put out by Quest, but those “BBQ” and “nacho cheese” protein chips they got are really addictive. I’d never guess there’s almost no carbs in them by the taste

I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.
