Could someone explain what happened lol, and why he was banned

Pale's picture

The same way you are flirting with it. But seriously, every couple years Rusty starts getting the idea that he is bigger than the site and can say or do whatever he likes. He also has some anger issues politically and that bleeds into his posts. On the covid stuff he wouldn't except a warning and had to come back for a second round, Hell, I won't be at all surprised when he goes for a third. Or maybe he will just stick to his guns and not come back. Life goes on either way.

Its not the first time hes reset to zero.
Fast48 and the karma whore ring back in 2011/12 when i was called johno.

I get it but what I don’t get is why places like Best Buy can stay open but the mom and pop businesses that sell the exact same thing can’t stay open. Big business is taking advantage of the virus and crushing the small guy. And for you guys that think we’re running out of food we are not. I work in food processing and have been doing 75 to 80 hour weeks with one day off in two months just to keep up. We have never had a problem getting food delivered to package in cans, jars or pouches. The only reason shelves are bare is because everybody is panicking and buying everything up. Don’t worry there is plenty of food. Why are liquor stores open and packed with people but gyms can’t be open? Gym people are more worried about health than most people at the liquor store. Not saying the gym is a good idea as much as I want to go but the liquor store? I live by a Budweiser brewing plant too. Why are they an essential business? Somebody is getting paid off.

I asked a nurse that question about liquor stores listed as essential. Was told because of the amount of alcoholics that are dependent and will go with withdrawals without alcohol. They usually end up at the ER. Which they were trying to keep additional patients besides covid ones out of the ER.
Also going through withdrawals from alcohol can kill one.
Which I would assume is legit reason.

Edit: delete paragraph dealing with politics/lobbyists.

Bill1976's picture

But 30 people packed into a liquor store isn’t social distancing. Also my chest freezer burned out. Home depo and Loews were sold out because of the meat shortage scare so everybody packed in there and bought them all. The place by my job had them but we’re not even allowed to do curbside pickup.,I had to find one on Facebook garage sale..

Bill1976's picture

there is no need to panic for meat. The meat facilities were short but the farmers will hook you up. Me and some of my buddies at work went in on a cow. I bought a quarter cow. Plus it’s turkey season. Plus everybody in my family got a deer this year. There is always meat.

Toilet paper always confused me with the hoarding. Just by baby wipes .

Smear peanut butter in your beard and try to spray it off with a gentle stream of water.

All I can say is you've got one hairy ass and, what the hell are you eating that is as oily as peanut butter?

That said, using your example, if you go as far as smearing peanut butter on your ass you wouldn't need to use water. Just call fido over to complete the job. Probably also cleaner than a bidet... it'd be the last time the dog would be allowed to lick my face as well.

What pissed me off was people buying baby formula that didn’t have a baby in the house. My gf saw them all over Facebook saying that you can substitute it for milk. Baby’s are limited to what they can eat. You can’t tell me an adult needing a substitute for milk is more important than a baby needing formula.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Just to clarify, alcohol hoarding is acceptable right?

I agree 100% that we’ve needed to take these measures.
I’ve seen my city take a huge hit and I don’t see it coming back for a long time, due to the service and leisure nature Of most of the businesses here. Most restaurants aren’t making it with curb side here. Most small business are aren’t either.
I went to Home Depo this weekend and it was a total joke. Wall to wall people. How is this not a health issue? No one seems to be taking about that. How is that ok and other businesses can’t be Open. If it’s okay for those places to be open, shouldn’t other businesses be as well, as long as safety protocols are observed? Just a question.

Greg's picture

DIY stores are essential, Imagine if a required emergency home repair was needed (plumbing, roofing etc.) but you could not get a plumber, roofer, etc. to come to your house (much less answer the phone).

In our state, Home depot only lets in 50 people at a time. Has a line marked for 6 foot separation at the only open entrance. If the store capacity has been met, you need to wait outside until someone leaves.

The checkout has a wall of plexiglass separating you from the cashier.

Supermarkets are much the same with an added "one way only" makings on the isles so the shoppers don't need to pass each other in the narrow aisles.

As for the alcohol, the reason is because you would have bootlegging and violence if you cut problem drinkers and alcoholics from their fix. Believe me, there are a lot more habitual drinkers out there than anyone would like to admit. That would include most everyone you know, including our government policy makers.

As for the alcohol lobbyist, big money conspiracy theory, it is full of shit. Pot stores are open for very much the same reason. There are no big pot lobbyists.

vhman's picture

I agree that DIY stores need to be open, but I was shocked by what I saw. Many were not wearing masks and hit or miss distancing and wall to wall people. Grocery stores are similar here. I have rarely gone to stores in the past 6 weeks so it bothered me to see that.

What’s supposed to happen and what actually is, is part of what I’m talking about. Seems like you live in a utopia, where everyone is following the rules and things will be fine. I hope that’s true. I’m not an alarmist, just stating what I see.

Not sure where anyone is talking about tanning salons. Real businesses, where they support the economy and employ people. They’re taking a huge hit. That is not in dispute.
Hopefully this ends soon, but I don’t see that happening. Regardless, there will be many business that will not reopen and lots of people unemployed.

Pale's picture

I think in a lot of states here in the north the stay at home portion is falling apart. The weather is getting nicer and lets face it, this is America and people lose their shit pretty easily. I think the focus should be quickly evolving into best practices. Of course if the infection rates start exploding upwards that can all change.

Bill1976's picture

I’m in the north and your right. People are all over the place. The parks mostly. You can safe distance there more easily but you know how after winter cabin fever can be.

vhman's picture

That’s a huge problem. If things blow up again, I’m really afraid of what will happen to jobs and the economy then.
I really hope we can have some type of sanity and balance as how and when to move towards reopening and doing it safely.
Getting a majority of people to buy into that is the trick.
