Cleansing?

ad

So I have been debating on whether or not to run a cleanse here for 7-14 days while I take a couple weeks off from the gym. Anyone have any experience with doing something like this? I have heard that it kinda "resets" your system, cleans you out, and you will get better effects from supps again. I did a minor cleanse back in March, flushing my system and staying away from caffeine and such for 7 days...the day I had caffeine again was like drinking a cup of espresso for the first time(I was pretty rocked!!)...I would say the cleanse kinda worked.

I also want to know that if anyone did do something like this before...do you keep taking all your supps throughout the cleanse?...like your multi, fish oil, cardio supps, etc.??? Maybe it's not even important I try this, I am just looking for options and opinions really. Thanx.

I don't see a problem with still taking your vitamins/fishoil. The only thing I'd stay away from for the clense would be pre-workouts and I did a clense on those(took 2weeks off). when I went to try my pre-workout supp after the 2 weeks it was like my first time taking it again.Hope this helps!

Thanx for some of the responses guys...I might try this Vit C thing at some point. Sounds interesting...and I like the sound of it 'sterilizing the gut'. Everyone could use that once in awhile...especially with the lifestyles we live!!

Word on the street is this also kills Candida yeast, sterilizing the upper gut. If you have problems with hemmeroids, heartburn, itchy ass or overly smelly gas, doing this once every few months has a good chance of curing those symptoms. I know that sounds disgusting but for me this was a godsend. It also cures Scurvy Haha.

I use a supplement called super cleanse from time to time, but I mostly use it when I eat a large quantity of beef or pork ect. Let me tell you, it really does clean you out. It has directions on how to take it, but I developed my own tolerance by taking one at a time. I've never done like a 7day cleanse ect. If you have a juicer, I got a recipe from a co-worker who tried it and its supposed to be a system reboot, he is diabetic, after taking it for a few weeks, he was off insulin and his blood panel had improved, so its worth a try. I'll post the recipe below:

Bunch of Kale
1 Cucumber
4 Celery Stalks
2 Green Apples
½ Lemon
1 piece of ginger
