Baby aspirin pre workout??

ad

was reading about some pre workout supps here and saw some people take baby aspirin pre workout along with some kind of stim like caffeine. I usually take baby aspirin before bed but if it works good for a pump Id like to know and try that out.

I wouldn’t recommend using NSAIDs before any sort of training….not beneficial.

I don't like aspirin or any pain reliever before training. I lose the mind to muscle connection and just can't feel the muscle as well so very hard to focus on it and train it properly. I don't think it helps with a pump either.

thank you for the feedback brother. its something I saw in an article and was looking for anecdotal experiences.

This is extremely bad practice to get into, been there and done it. I used Aspirin to counter the pain in my shoulders when I constantly use to over train in the earlier years, I found it would blunt the pain out and if I was going for bench maxes I would always get them. For some reason it allows you to grind through reps that you would normally miss, I think its because where your brain would normally cut the muscle off due to thinking it can't get the lift - the aspirin removes this nerve impulse and allows you to push through it. It means nothing feels stiff or sore either so all the reps feel lighter and you have more confidence in going for things. However all this comes at a cost because it leaves you much more prone to injury as you cannot feel whats going on with your body or muscle, its only once the muscle is torn you then realise you should not have pushed as hard. Aspirin itself is no joke either - Its extremely bad for your stomach lining, Liver and kidneys with it being an NSAID. If you feel the need for extra stimulation and energy I would just invest in a good pre workout drink.

I have read that regular 300 mg aspirin can be bad for your stomach and such but is low dose baby aspirin bad for your stomach as well considering its only 81 mg?

That stack may have become a PWO at some point but it was originally a fat burning stack. I did 100mg caffeine, 25mg ephedrine and aspirin(can't remember how much aspirin).

youre saying that the baby aspirin gives you energy if you use it with caffeine before the gym?

Makwa's picture

The energy comes from the caffeine and ephedra not the aspirin.

Aspirin doesn't give energy by itself. It prevents norepinephrine from decreasing thus sustaining the stim effects from caffeine en ephedrine over a longer period of time. At least that's the theory behind it.
