When to Cycle
Am i wrong or do the overwhelming majority of horror stories from younger guys cycling result from pure ignorance and a lack of knowledge on how to properly use AAS? (i.e-dont do a pct or do a oral only. dont consult with their physcian, dont get bloods done, dont know how to eat, dont know how to design a cycle...) if one has everything down, isnt it more of a developement question? is the individuals body ready to handle the extra hormones? now i know the arguement is that we are in our prime and dont need AAS because we still make gains. which i agree with but the argument of still making gains at that age does have a small bias. one will keep making gains well into his older years if he keeps training hard and eating right even without AAS. so the question is when is it ok to raise your horomone levels to the level sufficient enough to add muscle in an amount of time one could not achieve with natural hormone levels, be it low or high within natural limits. also whats the difference between say a 21 y/o doing a proper cycle (correct doses, pct, solid diet, the works) vs a 35 y/o cycling who doesnt know what hes doing, doesnt do a pct, shitty diet ect?
..as some of you know i have already consulted with my physician about my future AAS use and intent to compete. he has told me i am fully grown and developed and my growth plates are closed. he has also ok'ed me to start cycling under the condition that i come see him to get bloods taken. i am 21 btw, 5'6.5" 185lbs 13% bf. been competitive gymnast since i was 5. stopped about 6 years ago to take up weightlifting. started "bodybuilding" at age 17. ive been hitting a plateau and id like to break past it naturally and improve even more before i take the plunge and cycle later this year.
also, question for the vets, does the intent to compete nationally and working up to pro status affect the starting age for AAS? any thoughts on this are welcomed, not looking to get flamed, just want opinions on my thesis because i believe the argument against younger guys cycling is generalizing that all younger guys dont know what they are doing and have a lack of understanding on how to use AAS and are more at risk because of that ignorance.

Some people may flame you about Maturity/Age, in my opinion I've seen some 40 year olds act more immature than some 21 year olds. If you feel you are ready OP, go for it. Lucky for you there is so much documentation now that in order to seriously do some damage to yourself, you'd need to try extra hard.
skalpaid like to thank you guys for the insightful responses. i take the word of vets very seriously and i appreciate the help you guys provide young guys like me. thanks again
The first thing that seems strange is your physician OK'ing you to start an illegal steroid cycle as long as you get blood work done?????
My opinion on the age issue is also in relation to your future use of your Penis and Testes and whether it will just be jewelry or remain functional. You may find the right person and want to have children and not be able to which could be problematic to any future relationships!
Normally when people spend so much time trying to rationalize something it is because they know it is wrong, so they try to find good reasons to do it. There should be no plateaus at your age, simply natural limits or mental limits you have not figured out how to get past. I say mental limits meaning, drive, motivation, will to push harder than you've ever pushed before. When the pain and exhaustion set in (if you even get to that point) can you mentally tell yourself you have more left to give, or do you accept it and stop? Regardless of AAS you will need these mental skills to make it in BodyBuilding!
Good Luck!
skalpai was suprised too. i asked him if there was a way to get a scrip from him for pharma gear but he said kaiser doesnt cover that because its a cosmetic treatment and not a health concern, if that makes sense. he accepted the fact that AAS use was imenent in my futrue anyways and i was coming to him just to make sure i was doing it right and at the right time. he didnt question my choice. as far as having children, is it still a concern even if you go through correct pct and take all proper ancilleries and time off? i dont plan on using nandralone for that reason, actually i just plan on using test and eventually tren maybe 10 cycles in. and incorporating masteron and var during contest-prep along with other cutters like clen or albeutrol. as far as drive in the sport, thats seriously all i got. all i do is cook food all day, train, eat, sleep, and work to pay for my food, gym pass, and protein powder. its my life bro, no alcohol, no drugs, no partying, period.
Its a chance you take IMO, there are enough people now days losing their ability to conceive due to shit we're eating, pesticides and shit. Increased estrogen in kids causing 7 yr old girls to get their period. Stressing your HPTA, stopping, starting, resetting...... can't be good! As far as your plans right now, I'd bet they'll change quickly if you do make strides in BodyBuilding and get picked up and sponsored they will be directing you at that point. Some may not know or care about the adverse affects. You sound like your putting the time into this as far as research, so keep an open mind and look at the negatives with the positives and weigh everything to make good decisions. Good Luck!
AnonYea I think a lot of it has to do with the mental aspect of AAS as well as the physical one. The body is going through changes, and one cant say that ones thinking and thought process changes on cycle.. maybe its something small like a small increase in aggression or it could be bigger such as jacked up sleep patterns and increased depression (I say increased depression because AAS magnifies whatever mental and emotional state one is presently) If an individual isn't mature enough to know his/her emotions and grown out of that drama ( MOST not all 21 year old kids, let it be man or woman, have lots of drama), then mental problems can occur, just like if one is using a an legal or illegal narcotic or depressant. In late teens early 20s, people are still figuring out who they are, usually the only thing they know is high school and think that's how the rest of the world is. Studies have also shown the earlier a person takes a certain drug in his or her life the more likely they will ABUSE it. If I start snorting coke for fun at 15, statistics will say Ill be addicted and abusing it by 25. Unlike If I start snorting it at 25, I have the mental maturity to continue to use it for recreation instead of need, this can apply to any thing..gambling, food, sex etc...
skalpavery true bro. like where youre coming from. 5 years ago i was poppin exstasy tabs like nothin, droppin acid, smokin weed like there was no tomorrow. thankfully i pulled myself out of that hole and just over those 5 years have matured alot. being clean now from everything and kicking old addictions has allowed me to really focus on whats important and has allowed me to grow. id like to see how much more mature id be in another 5 years. im in that transition right now and i might need to give myself a little bit more time based on your analysis. great response dude +1
1jakd_hipyI agree that there is no "right" to start cycling. However most at 21 aren't mature enough to use AAS or have the knowledge, also at 21 most people can't fully commit to something especially as time consuming and expensive as bodybuilding. If you look at a lot of the greats in the past they started late teens/early twenties. If you are absolutely sure that bodybuilding is going to be a part of your life forever and you have the knowledge and guidance to get there then go for it bro. But if you at all question the lifestyle then now is not the time.
skalpai agree 100%. lifestyles not an issue. i live the lifestyle now haha only thing thats missin is the time i got to take out from eating to pin myself haha. i think i might have to give myself more time just to figure out my life and where id like it to go. bodybuilding will definitely be at the forefront of my life, forever. but id also like to get my degree and start working with my mentor on developing entrepenuerial enterprises to be able to fund my bodybuilding lifestyle. just as infidel said, i think i need to allow myself more time from my past addictions so i dont develope a new one. thnks man
1jakd_hipyWell I can tell you starting a business doesn't leave much time for anything else. And 90% of us are former addicts that found a new addiction, especially the hardcore strength athletes. It takes an addictive personality to dedicate your every waking moment to reading, learning, eating and training.
skalpayou dont got to tell me bro haha lifting weight was my rehabilitation from drugs, now you could say im obsessed but i dont care. i love it
absolute truth on the addict part! also a business can shut down every other aspect of your life ...i know first hand. i was consumed at in 2 years i gained 40-50 lbs and lost a lot of muscle mass....it happens before you even realize it
skalpahopefully i will be able to balance my time. i won't know until i try it myself. luckally i have someone to guide me. hes like my father figure, hes a millionare entrepenuer and told me to go to school and get a degree in whatever i want and then he'll help me make money. he helped out his good friend, and now this guys got a 5 million dollar home in the hills. guess im lucky
