Doctor says I devolped Polycythemia...

ad

Ok so I'll try to give as much information as I can to help you guys help me out. I did a 15 week Test cycle @500mg/week , dbol 40mg/day for 1st 6 weeks, anavar 40mg/day last 5 weeks, and Clenbuteral last 6 weeks (on 2 weeks/off 2 weeks). HcG 500mg/week last 4 weeks of cycle and 1st week of PCT (I never used HcG before cuz I didn't need it but this time i noticed the balls got smaller then usual so picked it up, i read here its better to start late then not at all) I finished my cycle august 4th..

waited ten days and started PCT. clomid 100mg/day 3 weeks, then 50mg/day 2weeks, Nolva 50mg/day 3 weeks then 25mg/day 2 weeks, I also took anastrozol .25mg/ED and continued thru pct (I did this because it helps keep the acne away and last cycle i stopped the Ai when i started pct and the acne went crazy. so the thought process was to level things out)

I also have a prescription for Aderall which I stopped taking 2 weeks prior to my blood test.

I had my blood test Friday (09-04-15) and they called me today and said that I've developed Polycthemia and to stop taking the Aderall because it can feed to it and increase chance of stroke. The doctor also knows about my usage so you guys know. From what I've read, Polycythemia is an elevation in Red Blood Cell Count. But I really don't know much about that or how to fix it, if the body will fix it naturally or to have blood drawn?
So I hope this is enough information, if not then just ask and I'll tell you anything else you need.

I got a copy of my blood test and wanted to share some of the key numbers with you guys so I can get an input from our side and not just the doctors. Keep in mind I got this blood test done about 2.5 weeks ago. I'd also like to add that I donated blood yesterday. I had an appointment with my doctor after my blood results came in to see about any treatment for the elevated RBC & HGB levels, when I asked if I could have blood drawn his response was "Normally that would be our treatment for Polycythemia, but in this case I just tell you to stop taking steroids".. So ya I gave some blood up anyways, After everything I've read it was the only thing that made sense.

Testosterone, Serum - 567
RBC - 6.2 (3.7-5.5 normal range)
HGB - 17.9 (11.8-16.8)
HCT - 51% (36-49% normal range)
Creatinine - 1.4 (0.5-1.3 normal range)

Listen to what your doctor tells you. Besides telling you that you had it did he tell you what to do about it? I had the same issue when my doctor did bloods and I said ok I'll go give blood and she said no wait and will test again next visit which was about 3-4 weeks later and it had normalized. So yes in some cases the body can naturally fix it. The course of treatment depends on the doctor. I talked to a friend yesterday and he had the same issue except his wasn't out of range like mine was just at the top of the range and his doctor instructed him to go give blood which he did. So I would suggest calling your doctor back and asking what you should do about it.

I made an appt today to go give blood just to freshen up and level out. Everything I've read from people is how fresh they feel after giving blood. I already stopped taking the aderal which is the only thing he instructed me to do.

Your cycle most likely caused an increase in your RBCC. I'm on TRT and I give blood every 2-3 months, because my count gets quite high by then. I only take a low dose of test.

I don't know if you have Polycthemia or not, but I do know that your RBC was up, at least in part or whole, due to your cycle.

Ya because I also got my blood test during the cycle, probably around the halfway cycle mark, and they called me and said my liver enzymes increased mildly but not as much as he expected and my cholesterol went up 40pts.

I'm going to get blood drawn in the next couple days. I've never given blood before. Can I just walk into a Blood Draw building and say I want to give blood? Do I tell them why or anything about my RBC's being high? I've read from a few guys that said when they get their blood drawn they feel completely refreshed. So hopefully that will be true.

You don't have to say anything about your RBC. They do a finger prick test when you're there. DON'T say that you inject steroids of the like. They will turn you down.
I always feel better after I give blood and it helps my BP as well. Just call and make an appointment at a blood service and go in. It's easy and pretty fast.

thanks for the replies man, and I just called a walk-in blood service and they said I need a prescription from my doctor. I live in NY so I dunno if they allow walk-ins with no script

You need a script to give blood??? I've never heard that. I know you need a script for blood tests in NY and other places, but never heard to give blood.
I would call the red cross, united blood services, etc. (just google places to give blood), and ask there.

haha never mind that, I called a lab testing facility... Just called red cross and I'm good to go ! thanks a lot for your help

Also, I got the blood test while I was still on PCT, not sure if the clomid and nolva will cause an elevation in high red blood cell count
