prednisone
ad
Alright, so I've been given a tapering dose of prednisone for an infection I have in my calf from from a cut I git at work from some metal shavings,, along with the antibiotic Bactrim.. I know the prednisone is an anti inflamitory steriod, but was wondering if it would have any effect on my current cycle(500mg test E wk)? If anyone has any info on this, it would be appreciated

SpyVPrednisone is a powerful systemic steroid, very much overkill for an infection on a laceration. That said, thats the doc's call.
It will not have an affect on your Test cycle, however it will have a powerful effect on your immune system. It will suppress the hell out of it, and in general will leave you more suseptible to infection/virus. This is why I am a little surprised that it was prescribed as an anti inflammatory for localized inflammation. If you had psoriasis, and 80% body coverage, this medication would be great. So in this capacity, it may affect your cycle. I am however surprised that some other anti-inflammatory medication wasn't chosen first.
It is very important however that once you've started it, follow the tapering off. To come off without tapering will result in a whiplash effect from your immune system. Surpressed inflammatory responses will come back with avengence.
Personally I've been prescribed to use Prednisone twice, and while it works great while you're on it, its not something I'd use again.
Thanks bro, good info!! The laceration on my leg had actually healed, and the wound was shut, but it left a nice size growing lump in my leg, it was hot to the touch, and a bit red,, I haven't started the prednisone yet, because I wasn't sure of the reaction it may have.. it seems to be getting better, so I think I will just follow through with my Bactrim, and see how that works.
