+ 3 Adhd and steroids.

ad

Hi guys my names jib and i'm looking foe some advice. I have adhd not much of and issue however i do take concerta xl for it and was wonderng if there would be any issues with taking test, var and pct?

(Edit) i have previously ran this cycle 2years ago
Test e Wk 1-12. 250mg twice per week
Anastrozole wk1-12. .5mg EOD
2wks after last test pin
Clomid Wk 15-18. 100,100,50,50
Tamoxifen Wk 15-18. 40,40,20,20

At the time of running this cycle i was not on concerta.

During the cycle i never had any issues with anger.

My adhd has never caused be any issues with anger.

Now that I am on concerta I have even less issues with anger than what I had before (which was none) and the concerta chills me out.

I have been on the meds for 10 years now, so my body has adjusted very well and I don't experience many of the negative side effects. However, when I first started I was on Concerta and felt like I had smoked crack for about 8 hours after taking my pill lol. I would take it in the morning before class, work a 3:00-11:00 PM shift and then workout at midnight to put as much time in between that does and the gym as possible. In hindsight, I can't believe I was working out at midnight back then. That shit would kill me now! Oh to be young again

Yeah, they don't mess with mine anymore but they shot it to shit when I first started. A lot of force feeding occurred back then lol

Look, i have "extra fun" ADHD too. I take modafanil to treat this and tbh its excellent. Ive never had an issue with my adhd and using gear. I wouldn't advise anyone to use amphetamines though while on AAS, but i digress.

In my opinion you're fine with your proposed cycle although your PCT looks really weak in my opinion. I prefer more aggressive recovery.

2 weeks prior to last pin and after last pin:
- 500ius hcg twice a week

2 weeks after last test pin:
Clomid Wk 15-20 - 100, 50, 50, 50, 25, 25 (100mgs is overkill in my opinion with more sides however, some studies suggest 100mgs can be superior. Remember less is more)
Tamoxifen Wk 15-20 - 40, 40, 20, 20, 20, 20
Aromasin (EOD) Wk 15-20 - 12.5 (adjust accordingly - increases igf-1 in pct, prevents rebound gyno, works synergistically with serms, increases testosterone, etc) arimidex is OK, but aromasin carries far more benefits.
Gw501516 Wk 15-20 - 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20 (for cholesterol, cardiac performance, cortisol control)

,but what do i know lol? Actually im more of a conservative type in pct because without recovery there are no gains. Get bloods pre, mid, and post to ensure your functioning optimally. Enjoy your cycle!

Wouldnt dopamine go through the roof? Sort of like being at 1 end of the adhd spectrum originally, finding middle ground now with meds; and then pushing dopa too far via aas and ending up at the other end of the spectrum (but still adhd)??

Eagles 2013's picture

I was diagnosed as a child (everyone in my family has it) and have been on the meds for well over a decade and they work great for me. I have also never had issues with anger, mood swings, volatile personality etc. However, my father and sister both have ADHD and they are both poster children for these personality traits. It really differs dramatically from person to person. Me, my brother and my mother are on one end of the personality spectrum, my father and sister on the complete opposite. All diagnosed with the same thing. I think a lot of it has to do with underlying issues unrelated to ADHD, but amplified by ADHD. That is just a theory though

Edit- To the point, AAS use has never had a negative impact on my personality/mixed with the meds. I can hold it together on tren as well. I think it's a case by case, person by person thing.

It really is a spectrum isn't it?
And yeah I can see how unrelated things would feed on certain things differently for different people.

Tren? Brave man! Smile

Eagles 2013's picture

Yeah, I have used tren three times, all back in my younger days when I was a little more "ambitious" and less risk averse. These days it's typically test/nandralone and select orals.

So far as ADHD goes, it really is a wide spectrum. Very interesting how different conditions impact people differently.

would recommend some blood work and reading gairdaps post on raising testosterone naturally by up to 300. It’s in the trt section. Add some OTC supplements if u want too. Get some more blood work to see how much ur levels changed and evaluate how u feel. Try that and see how you react cognition and anger wise then go from there.
I know my psychiatrist knows what I take supplements wise and I don’t need my adhd medication anymore. I don’t get distracted or angry as easy anymore. Plus I don’t fall asleep driving anymore which is a good bonus. Stims make me sleepy lol

Jib's picture

Cheers mate I'll have a read at that. Haha yes I can imagine stay awake at the wheel to have many benefits lol.

Ok guy thanks for the input some interesting theories here . So I should have paid more attention and given more detail (adhd tho lol) I have ran a cycle b4 2 years ago I never had issue with anger and I've never had any issue with anger due to my adhd.

@IrishMack (Not sure if that's how to tag) I'm interested in the spike of estrogen as almost immediately after getting on concerta I lost all interest in sex which is unbelievable as my sex drive has always been through the roof. As for how I am on the concerta it calms me down and chills me out it's works perfectly well for my adhd minus the sex which the doctor is more than happy for me to take viagra to combat.

IrishMack's picture

You got it, I had the same symptoms and I stopped taking it. Bloodwork showed an increase in e2 and it made me angry a lot, I believe a lot of it had to do with it being timed release, when I was on adderol it was 40mg a day spkit twice a day and It got me back my libido but the doctor was concerned of getting used to it and habit forming so he had me take a week break every month and that was a bullshit week. Then he put me on fast acting ritalyn at 50 a day and it has helped tremendously. I still have fits of anger and that is usually in between doses but i learned breathing exercises. Talk to your doctor about the loss in sex drive and he should give you a blood test. You may have to switch meds to adderol or ritalyn. You could get your own test and check your levels too.

I take Meds for Bipolar and I don't get any adverse effects from test or dbol but however that's not to say you want in your case. Medications for Chemical Imbalances are not anything to play with their very dangerous. They can either help you or really screw you up. AAS'S effect Natural Hormones, and in return can alter chemical imbalances. If I was you I would truly do some extensive research on this matter before you possibly dive into a hornets nest. Some times Bro Science can help but in this case it wont. Play it safe bro. Don't take a chance on messing yourself up permanently. Think about what your doing and the harm you could cause. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.

I agree strongly with this. OP, if you do take the plunge, I would suggest confiding in a few people close to you who you interact with on a regular basis and ask that they tell you if you start acting differently, seeing erratic, etc. The confidence boost, and sense of well-being that super human test levels give SOME (not all) can and will cause you to not realize changes in your own personality.

Also, depending on your level of comfort injecting yourself Test-P may not be a bad idea instead of Test-E/C. E & C are usually recommended for first cycles, but if you have experience negative interactions, your stuck with the hormones for close to two weeks if not more. If you can stand every other day injections, Test-P may be the way to go for you because if things go south you can stop injecting and have the hormone cleared in less than half the time of E/C.

With all that said, OP can you give us more information on yourself & your training history, based on this question I am assuming no prior cycles. I edited this to remove my original request for stats since they are on your profile and I am assuming they are accurate.

We still need to address if you are ever ready for gear period, regardless of the meds you are prescribed.

I have ADHD and took Concerta xr for a few years, but now take Vyvanse (the only reason is that Vyvanse has a longer half life which suits my 12+ HR days better). I have used AAS on both and for me personally, there was no noticeable negative psychological interaction. However, that is just me personally and does not mean that it will be the same for you.

The one thing that you ABSOLUTELY need to consider is blood pressure. ADHD meds and any other amphetamine are almost certain to raise your blood pressure. Most AAS are notorious for raising BP as well, so if you are using "cycle amounts" of test or any other AAS you need to check your BP multiple times per day, record the readings, calculate weekly and monthly averages and then graph those in order to see if your blood pressure is steadily treating up and if so, how much?

Test, Var PCT shouldn't be too bad assuming your not running something retarded like a gram or more of test. Also, you need to be monitoring your estrogen on cycle (extra water weight is notorious for causing a blood pressure spike), so be weary of that as well.

As anyone who has taken these meds for a couple of years or longer knows, the human body does not like getting used to a fixed amount of a certain substance being administered every day and then having it go away cold turkey, but if you let your blood pressure get out of control your doctor very may take you off the medication immediately, if nothing else to cover his/her ass. That could be a real shit show for you if the meds help you as much as they help me! That along with the list of negatives that high blood pressure has on your body.

Feel free to send me a friend request/PM if you want to chat more. I have a wealth of experience using AAS with ADHD mess and don't mind answering any other questions you may have.

I have adhd and take ritalin for it, both doctors know but then again I am on trt. You need to remember that when you have adhd taking amphetamines have a different effect then someone without it. If I were you I would do a ton of research on your psych effects before starting one. Hormones do affect your condition. I have had episodes where the drugs were causing me problems, especially concerta. It was causing my estrogen to be a lot higher then it should have been even before trt. It also caused me to have rages for no reason at all.

Eagles 2013's picture

I am not sure if Concerta ever caused my estrogen to spike because I was taking it in my pre-trt days, so the only blood work that I was having done was mid-cycle and after PCT, so fluctuations in estrogen could not be isolated to the Concerta due to the presence of gear.

However, I do remember the Concerta rage. I used to literally refer to it as "the rage". I would tell myself in my mind things like "Chill out, you have the rage, don't say/do anything stupid"... Very interesting to know that I wasn't the only one.

Thanks for sharing Mack

I would strongly advise against anyone with ADHD to be taking steroids, having seen how people with this condition in general seem to act already. Just like anyone who is aggressive or paranoid and then jumps on steroids and ends up even worse.

Jib's picture

This is a massive general misconception adhd does not make people aggressive or paranoid. But that aside yes taking drugs has adverse effects and mixing them can fuck you up.

KMC's picture

I don't see this ending well.

Possible drug interactions.

Yes my thoughts to. That said lots of folk take coke, speed and other amphetamines while on gear these med do the opposite to me as coke would to non adhd people.

IrishMack's picture

Heres a breakdown, you will not be able to control your anger, you will get easily pissed off, everything makes you angry. These are your side effects and they are dangerous. Adhd is a chemical imbalance and increasing test beyond normal levels disrupts the balance even more. You need to be monitored on aas. Or you will hurt yourself or someone else. My suggestion is dont mix the two.
