+ 1 BP control

ad

Wasn't sure where to put this but just wanted to see if I can help people out. So we all know even testosterone on it own higher's blood pressure and we start to take a thing known as a beta blocker, well lets say you got from a friend or source your taking a average one aka metoprolol tartrate and other bb's there not much of a blood thinner they mostly make your heart walls stronger to pump blood better (why I always take a baby aspirin along the side to thin the blood from clotting) So when you are off cycle you decide well I don't need a bb anymore well if you just drop taking that medicine it will put you into a rebound tachycardia and increases your chance for a heart attack by a lot. So anyone taking these be careful and wean off slowly.

P.S.This is from me reading multiple sites online and have taken these prescriptions myself I would post links but there are to many it would waste people's time reading the same results from each and everyone

P.S. I'm so happy the seasons changed and I can cook my chicken on the grill but who knows how long before I get used to that

Memory loss is a side effect to xanax, and every time I messed with that shit I don't remember much. I get bad social anxiety and used to take it when I had speeches or big work meetings and seriously I never remember much of what happened, which sucks so I rather not take it anymore and just deal with it

I'm with Brooklyn, below. I would aim to resolve the issue without pharmaceuticals. Beta blockers should be avoided, unless absolutely necessary. Eating a low sodium diet can also help a great deal. I came across this post a while back that helped me some:

You should be able to find it at one of those big Asian markets. They will probably have a blood pressure tea there too. You could also try a good quality magnesium supplement. Magnesium is natures calcium channel blocker.

Thank you honestly for this post

Beta blockers were bad news for me. They took away my intensity with training and made me lazy, almost like antidepressants did. So I told my doctor to shove them up her ass (okay, that's an exaggeration) and lowered my blood pressure naturally by eating better and drinking hibiscus tea daily. Hypertension is one of the most overdiagnosed, overtreated indications in American medicine, unless it's hereditary in which case it absolutely must be monitored. Glad you brought this issue up.

Hibiscus tea? Nice thanks for the tip bro anything else in your arsenal lol

I'm prescribed Xanax for anxiety which I use as needed. It's been a hell of a lot better than all the SSRIs, SNRIs, and mood stabilizers I've tried combined because it allows for me to be in control. I decide when to take it and it's in and out of my system within a short period of time so it doesn't mess with me 24/7. And it's extremely effective. Xanax in particular is great for people like me who need to be chill in the world but then go MFer mode with the iron. Valium just puts me to sleep and Klonopin has way too long a half life to be practical. But doctors are hesitant to prescribe benzodiazepines--y'know, the things that actually work worth a damn--and instead keep pushing that zombifying, mind numbing garbage. Not sure if you've tried the benzodiazepine avenue, but they've been a [insert preferred deity here]send for me.

Lol, you edited out all the juicy stuff! Now this comment is pointless.

I'm supper happy for you that those work I've never had the options to try those myself my doc says no even though I'm the last person to ask for them maybe I need to be stern I'm no where a abuser looking for a high. I'm like you just looking for a result lol

Psychiatrists are usually cool about those. They don't get weird about it like PCPs do IME

Dude, stay away from Xanax at all cost. It's heavily addictive and its one of two substances that you can literally die from the actual withdraw.

333's picture

I know that why I always stayed with non benzo drugs but some works for some then others

helloBrooklyn's picture

What's the other substance?

shiva4's picture

Alcohol

Have you ever tried theanine instead of Xanax? It's not as strong but it may help you some. Also a good rhodiola extract may help too, it works as a natural anti-depressant and helps your body cope with cortisol.

I won't lie and say I don't enjoy it just a bit when I'm on, but I literally take a 0,5 mg pill maybe 2 to 3 times a week. I saw your other comment there and it really depends on the person. However, you made me realize I shouldn't sound like I'm encouraging it. I'm simply sharing what's worked best for me. I'm a control freak and a half, and I would simply never allow myself to become dependent on a drug like that.

Again, I'm not saying "go get Xanax." I'm saying we all need to find what's best for each of us.
