Competing While On-cycle
ad
I posted this on another board also, but want as much feedback as I can.
I have three strongman competitions lined up over June, July and August. The nice thing about this sport is that they're not drug tested so I can be On-cycle while competing. I'm really curious what your guys' thoughts are on this.
This will be my first cycle . If I start April 1st, I'll finish right before my first competition and be on PCT into my second comp, and completely finished by my third. If I held out until the end of May, I'd be on-cylce for every competition. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I always competed (strongman) while on
Typically trenned to the gills.
As a strongman, what did your preferred cycle like? I'm really interested to know what other strongmen are using. Thanks!
typically test/tren an an oral. Orals choice is dependent on if im close to weight limits. I never used cheque drops but now others who have. Another I've used is eq if there are alot of endurance. Keep in mind these are multi hour events so have food/carbs with ya.
Cool. I'm only on my second cycle starting today. The first one was just test e and dbol. This cycle I'm sticking to just oils; test p and e. Maybe third cycle in the spring prepping for next comp season (I live in the north, so only summer comps), I'll try adding in tren or eq.
I've competed plenty, so I know the nature of the sport. I've just been natty until this year.
Thanks for your feedback!
Just found this thread. Once you learn how your body reacts to the different compounds and how to time your cycles, BAAAM!! Your going to do good. Timing is the key. When I was Powerlifting in the younger days I had a guy/coach tell me when and what to do. He knew me better than I did. From other post, I see you already have a good foundation. Your going to like what's about to happen. Keep us informed about your progress and competitions. Goodluck
Thanks man! My strength is really starting to take off for sure. The D-bol alone scored me some very disgustingly awesome PR's before four weeks of my cycle were even over. I hope the test e kicks in good and hard soon. I definitely feel a little dip since quitting the D-bol two days ago. It might be all in my head, I don't know, but DOMs are still a problem. On the bright side, I think the low back pumps from the D-bol have subsided.
Hope you don't get lower back pumps while on like I do. carrying yoke or farmers walk can be excruciating. plus side deadlift squat and pressing movements will be stronger (hopefully). better get some sled work in to see where your cardio is some people huff and puff the entire cycle just walking around from all the water bloat. good luck on the comp!!!
Yeah, I'm getting nasty low back pumps, but I'm able to warm up and work through them. Deadlift is already doing really well. Pull 600x4 raw tonight. But, yes the bloat is becoming a bit of a problem already. My mobility is shit because of it. But, I'm not getting winded at all. Actually, I feel like my cardio is spot on!
I think I've decided to start pinning this next week. This will have me finishing PCT one week before my last competition. My decision to go this route is because once compeititions start, I won't be able to focus my training quite as well as I can leading up to the first. If I start in a week, I have 10 solid weeks of training without interuption. In my opinion, I'm going to maximize my training for this cycle by doing that and just dealing with whatever decrease in strength I experience in the weeks leading up to the last competition. If I go into that last one significantly stronger than I am now, I will still do very well.
Thanks for all you input!
Imo opinion i would hold off till the end of may and stay on cycle. Kinda a no pointer if you ask me because your gonna loose some strength when your off cycle.

Yeah, I hear you on that. I'm just super excited to get started. I'm strong enough now for the coming competitions, but I don't want to lose too much at the wrong time. The other thing I'm considering is cutting weight for the third competition. I don't imagine that'll be too easy while cycling.
