+ 1 Training Intensity After Injury

ad

Turned 32 in Feb. of this year and immediately tore my meniscus on a leg day Smile

just had surgery friday last week and now with them being able to remove the meniscus as opposed to repair it -- my recovery has been cut 1/3 so month out should be 100%.... my question is has anyone had this same hesitation or cautions about intensity on training post injury??

i was about two weeks in on my cutting cycle as well so i had to stop that and drop down to main. doses of .25 cyp twice weekly and now concerned with the amount of time i should give my body before starting cycle up again?

cut was

test cyp 500
var 30mg pre lift
tren ace would be introduced week 4 thru 12 at .25 EOD

"The sweet spot for reducing risk of injury risk seems to be keeping the acute:chronic ratio between 0.5-1.5. If it is greater than 1.5, you should decrease either the volume or intensity of your training to reduce your chances of injury. If it is less than 0.5, you should likely increase the volume or intensity of training to maintain your progress."

Just speaking as a personal trainer here but come back slow and steady with your leg days. No one can give you an exact time till you can start going hard AF again. You just have to see how your body reacts. I tore the cartilage in my hip during a car accident. After PT I just did isolation exercises to get some strength back like ham curls leg Extensions and calf presses. After so long I came back to running, I was a triathlete at the time, don’t let that distract you. Anyway after 6 months I just found that I was back to going hard but it happened kinda on its own I just followed how I felt and had to learn to trust in my hip again.

Someone @Makwa or @Rustyhooker correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure I read anabolic agents can have a tendon/connective tissue weakening effect. Also coupled with having increased muscular strength is probably not a good recipe for joint recovery. I’d imagine it would be better to be off cycle and let yourself heal.

I can definitely take that advice in stride. I appreciate the thoughts, I already have full weight on it as of today and decent rom. So hopefully they’ll come naturally as I slowly ramp up intensity in the next weeks to come. With pt and doctors Guidance of course.

Good for you man, yeah it’s a mind fuck with no lube. You’ll get through it! I was surprised at how fast I was able to build strength back after the joint healed up. That muscle memory is real!

Didn’t know the benefits w/ tissue and hgh etc. very good to know, I appreciate it man! Just trying to stay motivated and not get down on myself. Long time reader and first time poster so input is not going to waste. Thanks guys!

Good to know about HGH, Anavar and EQ I’ll keep that in mind!
