Hgh and hypothyroidism

ad

So, I was researching the counter effects hgh has with t4 meds and it seems hgh takes away from the body's own t4 thus having to be on a low dose thyroid med like synthroid while on hgh. This of course being a person with a healthy thyroid. But if you were to have a thyroid deficiency and prescribed t4 and your levels are back within normal range after being on meds for say, a year straight; would hgh then be effective and not be so worry some to take?

Hgh Effective?...maybe...proof would be in blood work after hgh is started and level stabilized...and then thyroid profile collected...

But I wonder if it is worth the risk unless the BW shows that t4 is actually low while running GH? That's the only time I would supplement t4. And even then the worry is would the thyroid return to normal once stopping both the t4 and GH? Probably but not guaranteed.

My thyroid doesn't work anyways. I'm dosed normally with levo and my t4 was back in the normal range. I'm low dosing hgh for well being more than anything. It's helped tremendously. I'm in touch with my endo regularly so I get bloods drawn and ultrasounds done every 6-12 months. I was wondering if anyone experienced low t4 with hgh and at what does of hgh were they taking. I'm assuming it's a higher dose but could be wrong. Everyone's body is different so I guess I'll take that as my answer and let it be and keep my thyroid at a close watch.

I know it happens but only to some but I have no idea if it is dose dependent. I have tested by thyroid a few times running 4 to 6iu per day of GH and never noticed any low or reduced t4 levels. If you are already on t4 then I see no issue with you running the same t4 dose. The GH isn't going to make the t4 less effective in the body. Hope that helps.

Logic is there. I was thinking the same. Monitoring it per doctors orders will suffice. Thanks brother

If you are already supplementing with T4 there is no reason your levels should drop. You are adding exogenous T4 so there is no natural production to shut down, unless i am missing something here.

You beat me to it :-)

i don't think anyone has answered this question because the question is not so clear.... you're worried about taking hgh because of the effect it will have on your thyroid?
