When is the right time for HGH?

ad

40 yr old with past experience in AAS, about to enter the life of TRT late week. Gonna get labs Fri to see how much work I have to do to get things right. Gonna turn up the volume on the training and diet. I suspect Ill get my baseline test to a cruising speed- so It has been recommended by Tread-m before I cycle.
At what point should I throw in the HGH? SHould I wait and get in better shape and until labs look better, or should i have the HGH help me get there? \
This is an extemely important topic for me- so help a brother out.

Nice reply, tread. I'm not disagreeing with you. But as I said, for me it was more about the cost/ benefit analysis. I think hgh is priced artificially high. When the price comes down I think it will be an easier decision. And I think it will, it is just a matter of time before there is a good body of safety/ efficacy data that leads to lots of people doing it and that always leads to decreased cost. In the meantime, the subtle, albeit potentially significant long term effects, seem not worth it to me at this time. I can't put a number on it, but I feel like if you are doing everything right, hgh will only give you a couple of percentage points of improved quality of life. But this is just speculation on my part, which truthfully is all anyone has at this point to go on.

One thing I'd like to point out as a devil's advocate against your argument: in scientific inquiry there is something called causation error. You talk about hgh as a significant reason you are so youthful and vigorous compared to your peers. You may be right, but one might argue that it is because you (like most people who do hgh for HRT) are super health conscious. You eat right, you sleep enough, you manage stress, you exercise, you take health-promoting supplements, etc.

Like you said, hgh is just one tool, but I think all the other stuff is really the reason you are so youthful. Which is a testament to your commitment to health.

Are you familiar with Ray Kurzweil and his book "The Singularity is Near" ? You'd dig it. There's also a documentary on him called "Transcendant Man." It used to be available on Netflix. Also super interesting.

I'm with you on the potential right around the corner. I think things like hgh are going to seem like chump change in not too long. I have some friends that have banked stem cells, and I've considered it, but haven't done it. Yet.

That's one to cut and paste and plageurize- lol!
Just kidding- it's funny...most every point you have made I have made to others
Who have asked me how to train-
I'd love to get a nice office- facility, advertise and network for a clinic.
Have semi retired MD come in for 20hrs per wk to write skripts and spend most
Of my time motivating people to change their lives- I feel that is my calling 3-5 yrs out.
Ill even make it a not for profit- (still collect good pay)
No one can ever tell me the shit in media-
These drugs were designed to HEAL!!! Not hurt-
Give them to an unhealthy, des eased or sick person- they IMProve.
Give them to healthy person- they get MORE healthy.
I have always pointed to Hollywood-
Those folks got money and have righ food, right doc, right meds-
Look at :
Clint Eastwood

Dinero
Suzanne summers

I could go on and on and on...
These people have found the fountain and drink from it often.

thanks for reply. I heard effects are sublte. Im looking at it from a overall health perspective and all the benefits it claims- fat loss, bone density, mental clarity.etc

not looking for size-
any strength imporvement?
how many iu's did you take.

Arock,
I can't recall the daily dose, but a vial (5.8mg, I think) lasted me about 2 weeks. I literally noticed no positive effects. No fat loss, no mental clarity, no well being, but that may have been because I started it at the same time as TRT, and since I was low T, all the noticeable changes were from correcting that issue. But I have noticed no change since stopping it, either.

As I said, I think it may be useful over decades of replacement dosing, but the scientific jury is still out, and even though I can afford it, I didn't think the money was well spent at this point. I'd also like to see some long term safety data, particularly since I was using it for long term health purposes and not for BB results.

I don't think there is a wrong answer, but just realize that the objective evidence just isn't there yet, so whatever the HRT people tell you, it is a financial and health gamble. But not necessarily a bad bet.

I did hgh for about 8 months. Honestly, at the doses my trt doc wanted me on I didn't notice anything. I'm certain it is good for youthfulness and longevity (thought the jury is still out in terms of evidence), but I just didn't feel like it was worth the money. I really didn't feel any difference on it and now that I've been off of it for 4 months, I still don't feel any difference. Definitely didn't see a difference in my physique.

I'm no expert in hgh and BB, but I'm pretty sure the doses used by BB's are much higher than your doc will want you on. So I don't know if hgh is worth it from a hormone replacement strategy, at least not at age 40.
