Question for a friend on Dr prescribed 1ml a month
ad
A friend of mine was recently put on TRT by his Dr after talking to him about and I assume getting bloods. He is 54 years old definitely overweight, quite a bit overweight. I do not know what type of test they gave him or how strong. My question is should he still use some type of AI, and is that enough to do any good at the low a frequency?

Thanks guys, we are definitely trying to educate him and his doctor.
The only thing I know that is prescribed in one shot every 10-14 weeks is Nebido.
NotNatural23wow that is low and i would probably get an other opinion or go to a specialist. my doc had me at 300 mg of test cyp 200mg ml and he lowered it to 250 aweek cause my test was pretty high. but he never put me on an ai and this last time was the first time he checked my estro levels.. havent gotten the results cause i havent been back to see him. but if it is a good doc they should restest him after his injection a couple weeks in to make sure it keeps his levels up. usually everyone i know on trt does at least once a week injects and maybe once every 2. it will probably take a couple months of blood work and tinkering to figure out the best dose and if anything else is needed. i know for me it only took about a month to get mine right but my doc is also very good about test. he is one of the good docs who actually beleive in trt and he also does hgh testing too which i am gonna get next time in. I looked around and it took me a little bit before i found him and to be honest he actually saved my life cause i was suffering from low test for awhile and my life was just miserable. i had no desire for anything and the only thing that helped was pain meds and this doc got me off them and on to test. he got to the root of my problem instead of just saying u r just depressed take these pills u will feel better. anyways i could go on and tell u alot more but dont let anyone tell u test is bad for u. it was a lifesaver for me.
I'm 47 and on 200mg Test Cyp/wk. prescribed by family Dr. I do blast with 250-500mg additional test a few times a year. I have regular blood tests and when cruising at 200mg Cyp I am in the high range of normal (around 50 is my Estradiol level)....so not AI needed for me when cruising but everyone is different.
I have no idea why any Dr would ever prescribe any less frequent that weekly injects except to keep cost down if patient is having a nurse do the injections. Less frequent injections = more likely problems....period. The body does not like fluctuations in hormones it's that simple. If this is the case, tell your friend to start self-injecting and tell the Dr. he does not want to deal with the fluctuations and would prefer to be on a weekly schedule. People forget that the Dr works for YOU not the other way around.
I am 45 and also on TRT. Once a week injections, but at 170mg of Test Cyp. I really feel the crash on day 5 and trying to get my dose increased. My doctor finally upped it to 180 this week. Current "t" range was around 640 after several months of treatment.
I am considering supplementing my current TRT. I noticed you do a blast with 250-500mg additinal test a few times a year. Can you explain what that means and what type of test? Is it a cycle or an extra injection or two a few times a year? Sounds like this is what I may need.
Was it a general family doctor or an endo? I would advise him to meet with a specialist. I have heard of some doctors trying to give 200mg of test cypionate once a month as well until they met with an endocrinologist. They were able to get 200mgs bi-weekly which is a good or 100mgs a week would be ideal and can split that into 50mgs twice a week if he is doing his own injections. Most likely he will get put on cyp and the half life is 8 days.
Thanks, that makes a lot more sense.
I'm 36 with a 202. All my blood work came back aces with the exception of my test. My personal Dr prescribed me the same as your friend. Upon doing my own research this is no use at all. You have a jump that only lasts 9 days at the most the drops back off with raised est levels. Now going through the men's clinic locally and am up to two 200 shots of cyp weekly with HCG and est blockers. This has made all the difference in the world! Chances are good your friend has a very conservative Dr and needs to find a clinic locally.
I agree Xm, I have been searching all over the web and the minimum frequency is every two weeks.
Once a month - it is asking for trouble. The test will be low and the E may be high too, by the end of the month. Sust, Test e and c are ok once every 2 weeks or once a week, once a month will leave your friend feeling like shit.
RustyhookerDepends on dose. Problem with high bodyfat is Serum Binding Globulin Hormone will also be high.
The test prescribed is going to be test enth or most likely cyp. And with all testosterone you NEED an AI.
Good point bro and, although I agree... not everybody requires an AI, many manage fine without one on 500mg plus a week. But others need require an AI at much lower doses. Blood work is needed, even one incident of high estrogen can really fuck with a mans body and mind, some doctors just don't understand.
Yea, I figured his weight is a huge complication. I also know we are supposed to try keeping stable blood levels, this once a month deal doesn't seem like a very good way to do that.
Ye with any estered test, injecting once a month is very wrong, most people suggest to inject twice a week, to keep those blood levels nice n stable.
250mg a week is sufficient in most cases, sometimes people are so eager to build muscle they forget that they are on trt and think 250mg x 2 a week is sufficient for trt... that dose would only be needed in a male who has MAIS and needs a high dose.
