Kind of freaking out...
ad
Just got results from check up blood tests. Doctor said my testosterone is low for a 45yo male. Said it was 210 or something. I really don't know much about this and am a bit nervous about this TRT thing. He recommended I try some of the test boosters you buy at GNC and the like, which I'm ok with, but I don't know if there is something else I should take with it or if I should just agree to his recommendation for TRT.
I'm 185lbs, 5'10" and reasonably fit. Will either of these options do anything for me?
Thanks in advance.

I really would do TRT. Like others said. I think test boosters are garbage IMO
Johnny the BullWell it is quite normal for natural testosterone to drop as one ages so I would not be worried about that fact. However, if he has advised you TRT, you may want to consider it. A low testosterone is not healthy for you! Do some research and you will see that this is true. If you are considering a hormone replacement, I would go with testosterone cypionate and don't bother with the GNC product. He should have no problems prescribing it since he is the one who brought it up. I would take his recommendation and follow his treatment plan. If you want there are plenty of sources right here to order from. Good luck and don't worry its a completely natural aging process.
Zed98I'm 41 and I've been doing TRT For two years now. My only regret is that I didn't realize What my problem was and started it sooner. If you're seeing your normal family doctor They normally want to give you the injections their selves and only once a month But the testosterone injection will only last 7 to 10 days And it's impossible to keep your blood levels up. So take your lab results to a good urologist so he can Write you a prescription for you to do your own weekly injections. That's going to give you the best results by keeping your blood levels Stable. When I started my TRT I was in the 200s Now with 200 mg a week I hold steady in the 700s. But everyone is different so you'll have to find your own sweet spot To determine how many milligrams a week you need to take. I feel better and physically look better than I did when I was 30. And FYI This site has a lot of good sources with a lot of good products that you can add to your TRT to improve your results and feel even better. And always a lot of good people with a lot of good information.
QtripsTry HCG monotherapy first if test scares you. Who knows, it could end up changing your life for the better.
any kind of treatmenthas its risks ,but you'll feel alot better on trt - dont buy into these over the counter test boosters - you want test injections
NEVER EVER spend a dime on "test boosters".....there's no such thing.
How do you feel & how is your sex drive? I've been on TRT for many years, and my initial levels were as low as yours, but I also felt like crap.
If you feel great, and you have a great sex drive, I think you should seriously consider not worrying about it. TRT is for life, and it can take a while to get tuned in.
But, if your energy and sex life are low, should definitely look into TRT before you go the GNC supplement route.
Why dont you ask him to prescribe a hormone replacement? Injectable type pf testosterone, If not, there are plenty of sources right here.
Im the same age and had similar levels( might have been lower dont remember) TRT was the best thing that I could hav done... Feel great !! My endo never recommended a booster. She simply said they dont work.. good luck bro.
are you in the US? i know my GP said if i had been at 200 plus he would not have prescribed... i was at 28 or some ridiculous low number US insurance guidelines don't recommend trt unless you're sick low usually, we get struck in the "if your just sick deal with it" when we should be getting pushed to an optimal healthy level imo as much as they charge us we should be well taken care of and usually we are kept right at the edge of sick
F%ucking hate Americas health care
Hey brother, before you freak out, let me ask you a few things...
It's already been said: TRT is cheaper than the test boosters, and it's guaranteed to work.
If your low T isn't caused by an underlying medical issue like obstructive sleep apnea, then TRT is going to be a good solution for you. I'm actually surprised your doc recommended over-the-counter supplements that have little data to support their effectiveness when there is a clear indication for TRT in your case.
QtripsTest boosters have a chance, albeit very small, of messing you up. There are kids, young ones, on boards who have had their endocrine system screwed up by them. It's time for trt man. Don't be afraid of it, it can really turn your life around.
AnonI think its time for you to really hit the Internet bro. Read as much as u possibly can on the HPTA(hypothalamus pituitary testicular axis)
Also look up the different factors on why you have low T. Research bro. Feed ur head so you can actually wrap you mind around the topic without freaking out. I took my time before I went through with my TRT. I had to understand what went wrong. Why it was low. Why me? Well once you're cool with that part you have a simple choice. Why wouldn't you want the quality of your life to be as rich and fulfilling as possible. You'll see a lot of guys on this website who juice just to juice. But some of us actually need Test just to feel healthy. Without a decent Testosterone level my quality of life suffers. I'm not the real me. My wife sees it. My family sees it. Hell bro I see it, I feel it.
The trick to guys who TRT is accepting the fact that once you start injections you will be on TRT for life. You won't want that old way of life ever again. It's that life changing.
If you need any help or info just holler at me bro. Ive been on TRT 5+ yrs. Best thing I ever did
Thanks man, just starting to dig in to the info. Lots to digest. I'm going to talk to my doctor and get more specifics on my tests. Will go from there.
TRT is amazing and easy. It's just part of my weekly routine, like shaving. I give myself 1 IM injection of test c each week and 2 subQ injections of HCG, YouTube has great videos on ow to give yourself injections (assuming you haven't). It took about a month for me to notice the difference but now I feel great, can't imagine going back. My doc monitors my blood every 3 months.
Don't waste your time at GNC, anything that actually worked got outlawed over a year ago.
Are there any negative side effects for you? For instance, I am prone to kidney stones. Haven't found anything that correlates the two negatively. My Doc didn't say anything though. Just gonna dig into the info for a bit and see if I can understand more.
Obama BlowsWhat's wrong with TRT bro? If your natty T levels are low, then the sensible option would be to get on TRT...
Everything you buy at GNC that's supposed to increase your natty test is not only GARBAGE, but it's pretty fucking expensive too! You could get a vial Test E for less...Just something to think about
QtripsLol, when I think of buying supplements now I compare the prices to steroids. Guess which one wins.
X2!
Roger that, I'm just weirding about having to put shit into my body that it isn't expecting. Will read more. Thanks
