Facial Bloat?

ad

Hey guys..

I've been on Testosterone Cypionate 200mg per 7 days for 3 months now.

My levels were 150 at age 34,.. so the doc immediately put me on 200mg per week.. I split it up to two doses of 100mg per week,..

He has me on .5mg Arimidex per week,... Which I generally cut in half and take with each dose.

I've been a touch lazy with my Arimidex but not too far off.. but my Face likes to retain water anyway.. and I've noticed while I'm losing body fat, gaining muscle (with working out).. My face is somewhat swollen..

I can especially feel it in the mornings.

Just wanted any advice for this.. maybe a different way to take the Arimidex ,.. perhaps some other ideas to help lesson the retention.

I get blood work in the next few weeks,..

Take care,

Good stuff.. thanks.

Well it's Rx'd at once per week, .5mg Arimidex.. Now,.. I took the liberty myself to break the tablets in half because from what I've gathered online is that .5mg is a reasonably high dosage and taking .25mg twice a week would be marginally better than .5mg once a week? Agreed?

I could go into fourths.. and take .125mg four times a week? Better? No?

Or, I could go back to the full .5mg tablet once a week.

@Big13 -- Vitamin C is good for Water retention? I can do that,.. recommended dose?

@DCC1890 -- Water,.. Maybe 30-40oz a day? But I usually drink Unsweet Tea which is mostly water (good water source?) And I drink zero calorie Power ade (but that has Sodium, 250mg per bottle (20oz).. so maybe a bad idea?).

I can go straight to Water and water alone.. have done it before and it's fine..

Just how much water would you guys recommend per day.. ie: 64oz? More?

@Rustyhooker -- Blood test is coming up soon.. so we'll see what my Estrogen levels truly are and where my Test levels have gone as well.

Thanks

I don't think it's all that high of a dose.
I'm prescribed 1 mg twice a week for the following:

200 mg test cyp per week
350 iu hcg twice per week

Hcg aromatizes, so if you're only taking test, then your adex dose makes sense. The only true variable here is your how much of the enzyme your body produces for a given dose of testosterone. Hence the need for bloodwork.

Tea contains caffeine, which is a natural diuretic. Any caffeinated product is not a good source of water. In fact, the diuretic effect counters the body's uptake.

Sodium is actually an electrolyte, and is essential to the body's fluid balance. Sodium and potassium work together for a number of physiological processes, including the contractions of muscles when you lift. Too much sodium would be counter productive. Sports drinks are great sources during activity, but water should always be consumed as well.

Thanks..

I suppose the main adjustments, if any, are made would be increase in Arimidex if needed due to Estrogen levels.. though other than the slight water retention (that I'm prone to anyway before the test).. I don't have any of the other common warning signs of high estrogen.. Sensitive nips, gyno, mood issues, depression, difficulty reaching orgasm, anxiety, panic atk, (libido is questionable.. more on this later).., Erectile, dysfunction, stomach bloat.. et al..

There are a few things I know Low estrogen causes that are questionable.. one is libido,.. my libido isn't just raging like say when I was 14.. which I've heard happens with Testosterone.. it has it's moments but it's pretty much the same as it was before I started with my 150'ish levels of test..

That's the main one I can think of ... I've heard things like when your penis is limp it shrinks up more than it otherwise would with low estrogen, but some of these "symptoms" I'm not so sure about.

Not, my testicles are smaller than most.. BUT, they have been smaller than normal since my mid 20's.. so this may have something to do with the whole problem to start with,.. likely so I'd assume.

Sort of hard to quantify testicular size.. but it doesn't bother me. The Test hasn't shrunk them noticeably more than they were to start with. I also know Hcg will help with that esp. if I'm aiming to have kids (sterility) etc.

Thanks for the help guys,

A portion of that test you're injecting is snatched up and converted to estradiol by an enzyme. The arimidex binds to that enzyme to prevent it from getting ahold of the circulating test. That enzyme is aromatase and arimidex is an aromatase inhibitor (AI).

One of the side effects of elevated estrogen is water retention, hence the bloatiness. There's two types of AI's, essentially. The type that arimidex falls under creates a bond with the enzyme that is broken when the drug wears off. When this happens, the enzyme is then freed up and start snatching up and converting circulating test again.

What this means is that your estrogen can potentially increase exponential when you get slack on taking your adex. Don't skip your doses.

Always great idea to get bloodwork. Always..but he is right you might need to up your water and some vitamin c to help with any water retention
