Blood Pressure Over 40
ad
Hey everyone, Last month my doc put me on blood pressure meds because it has been consistently elevated. I am on trt 40 yrs old 5'7 185lbs. Doc gave me a diuretic called hydrochlorothiazide. I hate the stuff. I have to urinate all the time. So irritating. I'm sure the blood pressure has to do with the test e I am on plus anxiety and ptsd etc. from the military. I am taking fish oil 4x day. Multivitamins, cardio 5x a week. Anyways just wondering about anyone else is doing as far as medication, cardio, etc... I just took my blood pressure and it was 153/85. That's a bit higher than normal. Usually it's 140/75 give or take. I go to the docs tomorrow. Anyone else taking blood pressure meds that are not diuretics? Thank you for any input

I too am 39 (almost 40), on TRT and have BP issues. For that, My doc prescribed both Ramipril and Hydrochlorthiazide as one medication was not enough to control the elevated BP (as high as 180/ 120). With both meds I am back down to 140/80. Only downside is increased urination and potential for kidney sides. But, I absolutely love the 'water-cutting' effect which eliminates the bloat associated with the Test injection. I will gladly deal with the extra few trips to the loo for the benefits of these medications. Also forgot to mention that anxiety (related to elevated BP) has also subsided substantially. Hope this helps. ;)
thanks for the comment. My anxiety related bp has been much better also. Since taking lisinopril I am leaner also. My bloat is almost non existent. I'm usually not big on meds handed out by doctors, but I am glad I did in this case.
Glad you got your BP issue sorted out. Nice to hear success stories.
doc changed me to lisinopril. So far so good.
I find that the best meds are ACE inhibitors. Alpha blockers do make u pee more and only lower diastolic in most cases. Beta Blockers lower systolic but you gain fat weight fast!
ACE inhibitors is one dose per 24/hrs and lowers both without weight gain or peeing. These drugs all end in "Pril" like Accupril, Ramapril, Quinapril etc.
I use Accupril when on cycle and monitor BP cut back when off. Using Accupril and happy. Main danger if you drink too much BP can drop.
"Doc gave me a diuretic called hydrochlorothiazide. I hate the stuff. I have to urinate all the time."
I have been on a combination of Losartan and HCTZ for several years. The need to piss all the time will gradually subside.
The hydro is actually pretty mild and is a first stage treatment for elevated BP. Since I have been dropping the body fat and upping the cardio my dosing has gone down quite a bit. I doubt I can get off BP meds completely (54 years old) but that is my goal. I am really sodium sensitive so after a salty meal I can actually feel the pressure rise. Love the salty snacks though.
Hope you are successful in getting the BP under control.
whats your dose on test e? my bp is around 120 on test alone. and im only 22
