Where are all my gamers at?

ad

With a forum this size there must be at least a few recreational gamers here. I'm looking for something new to play. I spend most of my time gaming on my switch. But i also have a steam deck, modded ps vita, modded 3dsxl, ps5 and a xbox 1. I have a thing for handheld systems.

I'm currently replaying Nier Automata and just finished Persona 5 Royal. RPG's, action/adventure and puzzle games are what i like best. The Xenoblade chronicles series, newer Zeldas, Dead Cells, etc are the type of things i'll spend hundreds of hours playing.

So what are you guys playing and what would recommend someone give a try?

Any suggestions on something to play?

I stopped playing COD after 3 on the 360/ps3. I tried ghosts on Xbox 1 but just couldnt get into it. Gears is good. Especially when playing with a friend. But after the 360 I don't agree that Xbox is the way. I can't think of 1 exclusive on their current gen that makes me want to get the newest system. Can't say the same about the PS5. Demon Souls, FF7 remake, Spiderman and God of War are all games worth giving a try.

But even then my PS5 takes a back seat to my Switch. It might not have the same hardware power. But they make some great games gameplay wise. And for a handheld 720p is perfectly acceptable. Most of the PS5 exclusives are available on steam now, or will be in the future.

I actually use a xbox elite controller when using my steam deck in docked mode. Pretty sure PS has something similar to Game Pass. PS Now maybe? Either way you can play on your phone or other online devices. You can set up both Game Pass and PS Now on the steam deck.

I will say the ps5 controller sits really well in my hand. I would like the left hand stick and d pad swapped. They do make aftermarket controllers that you can swap them around. But they get pretty expensive. Like Xbox Elite controller expensive.

Def one of my favorite controllers but it sure was pricey. I'm fortunate that it works on other systems as I haven't even turned my Xbox 1 on in at least 3 years or so. It worked first time plugging it in to the steam deck and I believe with an adapter that it will work on the switch as well.

100%'d Nier Automata, very good game..

Always thought it'd be funny to ask that question, wonder how many jacked users or professionals on here secretly fire up a quick game or two during the week Lol

I'm only 60-90 minutes into my second playthrough and I've gotta say that the combat with 9s kinda sucks in comparison with 2b. He throws his sword on the first button press so you can't really do anything until it comes back and the hacking just isn't fun. Any tips here?

Also I knew that there were multiple endings but didn't realize that there were at least 26. There's no way id have the patience to do them all.

That's way more time than i'll put into Nier. I think the last game I actually did 100% was Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I had something like 260+ hours into it. Started of really slow but if you push through it turned into one of my favorite rpg series ever. I have over 200 hours into both XC1 and 3 as well.

I get 2 15 minute breaks and 1 30 minute break at work which is where i generally play. It's a pretty rare thing for me to fire up any of my consoles at home. The only other time i really play is when i walk down to the local deli or pizza shop to order take out. Probably why i have such a thing for portable systems. Also modding some of the older, unsupported systems is fun. My PS Vita has 2 tb of storage and pretty much every ps1, psp and ps vita game i thought sounded even mildly interesting including foreign stuff (which have been fan translated for the subtitles). My 3ds has 1 tb of storage and pretty much every nes, snes, gameboy, gameboy advance, DS and 3ds game i thought sounded interesting.

I actually find the planning and building of the modded systems more fun than playing them afterwards.
